The combination of these 4 was brilliant, Queen Latifah had shown her potential on fresh prince, Kim Coles was an underrated performer on In Living Color, Erika Alexander was stealing the show on Cosby Show near its end and Kim Fields is just so damn good in every role she plays
And don't forget the dynamic duo with TC Carson hot off of his movie Livin Large and John Henton super hot after his big comedy set on Johnny Carson's final episode.
And it's not a feminist show either. Living Single explore the side where women can be the stubborn ones in a relationship too (spotlight on Max in this respect). T.C. Carson (Kyle) was the one that told the producers that he's fine with the show being centered around women and emphasize women empowerment. But he also made it abundantly clear that the show will NOT make men out to "look like fools." And we see this justifiable demand met with his and John Henton's character (Overton), when Kyle being the most educated, well-spoken, patient, and stylish of the bunch, while Overton was portrayed as a simple innocent country boy who was in fact highly talented academically and also the one with the most practical wisdom on the show.

I gurantee you today with these selfish, arrogant showrunners and writers in Hollywood that just want to do nothing but bash men or other people with different viewpoints from their own that this would NEVER happen.

Man, the 90's had such great black sitcoms like Living Single, Martin, A Different World, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Family Matters, Moesha, Smart Guy, Kenan and Kel, The Wayans Bros, Roc, The Steve Harvey Show etc. This decade with the early 2000's coming second was the true golden era for black tv. I don't care what nobody say! Doesn't get any better than this.

With such great black sitcoms on every network, including WB and UPN we had so many gems from Living Single, Martin, Fresh Prince and In Living Color to The Steve Harvey Show, Roc, Kenan and Kel, The Jamie Foxx Show, Wayans Bros, Moesha, A Different World etc. We were actually far more diverse back then, then we are now. Back then EVERYBODY watched each other's shows no matter the race and they'd actually have line ups with shows for both white and black audiences. Idk how we got so segregated now.
