Belfour did a good job at reading the shots, but they did so good at picking the corners. Shots on other goaltenders seem to miss more. I loved watching Belfour play in the 90s as a goalie and Fedorov as a fwd. Both very talented among others.
It's so different at the games in person than on TV. YOu get to see what players are doing when the cameras aren't on them and it's a big part of the experience.
@@Monsuuri There is no fights anymore and the league is full of divers like Crosby the 90s and 80s were the golden age of hockey. These day there is only 4 goals in a hockey game but back then you would have 9 goals or 8 and gary bettman is making the league "safer" which hockey fans dont want.
How is Brendan Shanahan in a Hartford Whalers Jersey here if this is the 1996 NHL All-Star Game? Shanahan won back to back Stanley Cups with the red wings in 1997/1998. Unless Shanahan got traded at the trade deadline to Detroit if Hartford Whalers traded him to go have some possible success in which he did with 4 Stanley Cups I believe or at least 3 Cups because I’m not sure if Shanahan was on the 2008 Detroit Stanley Cup Win with Mike Babcock as head coach.
Just read the wiki on Hartford before they joined the NHL they were playing their home games in Boston Garden, home of the Bruins. LOL, imagine the conflict. I guess it's no different than seeing the Marlies play in Maple Leaf Gardens when it wasn't in use. Just weird how a big business like a hockey team could operate on such an amateurish level in some ways. Sure, the 70s were a different time than what they are now, but it still boggles the mind to think of the humble beginnings of a multimillion or billion dollar franchise in their early days. So they bounced around the Boston Garden who gave priority to the Bruins and Celtics and even the AHL team before the Whalers. They also used an arena knowns imply as Boston Arena which only had 5,000 seats. In some ways, the merger was great. In others, not so much. Increasing teams in the league also meant revenue if you were going to have more teams to play against and more games played which means more ticket sales. Some decisions didn't pan out too well and match their ambitions like the Alanta Thrashers. To this day, they would have been more prosperous remaining in Winnipeg than moving there. Arguable about Colorado. They should have just restarted another franchise there. Used the Rockies or something from before.
@@bigsteed007 You expect him to wear the same goalie equipment all throughout his career? Come on, now. Anyone got pictures of his wife and her sister? That would settle the it once and for all.
This is the NHL to me. 90's Hockey and pure Hockey Royalty at this competition. This brings back some good memories. Boy I miss these days.
Damn, these were my fav Goalies as a kid.
Same. This is NHL Royalty here.
Funny thing is that Darryl Sutter did not like Hasek's "unorthodox style" and was instrumental in trading him.
Best goalies of any generation so much fun to watch then todays butterfly robots
thank you i watched these with my dad growing up....
Wow, this was awesome! Thanks for uploading

I was at this with my brother! So awesome!
Obviously it looks much different on tv, than from the nosebleeds at the fleet center.

I agree it's tough to watch. Boring as shit. Need the balls back in the game keep the refs out and get rid of the instigator rule

Shanny played one full year in Hartford (1995-96) and was in that All-Star Game. He was traded to Detroit at the beginning of the next season.
Hockey Transplant Correct, he was traded for Paul Coffey and Keith Primeau after only 2 games with Hartford in the 96/97 season.
