Double heights do look aesthetically majestic but the issues are for real a pain in ars. So if anyone wanna achieve that majestic look without tha issues that come along with it just take your ceiling height from standard 11,12 feet to 15 feet. Trust me makes a massive difference and whatever you're planing on having on the upper floor. Id suggest you to only put a lounge over a lounge add steps. It gives character to your house while maintaining that majestic aesthetics. As for lobbies that's where the real problem is. Without the DHC (double height ceiling) it can make your 1 kanal house look basic and closed and no matter how much money you've spent on your lobby it still wouldn't achieve that wow factor ( the wow factor is the main purpose of a lavish over the top lobby, like it is the representation of the owners taste and class when you enter a house and the first thing you see) my suggestion; put lounge over the lounge but instead of closing it off with a wall use glass railings to add a balcony effect that overlooks into the lobby. Yes it can cause serious air conditioning issues for the living room of upper floor but it is what it is.
In double-height ceilings, we usually go for chandeliers ...so where to hang the fan....we can't put the chandelier and fan both. Kindly suggest how to place a fan in this case.

It is a huge area we can't put Chadeliers here, not fans, and the AC is also not present here. 😮 lighting solutions. Manish ji, mera double height room 30ft wide(left to right hai), 16ft lenght and 21 ft pe ceiling hia... left side main stairs hai aur west hai.. right side main hai 6ft long windows fir 5 ft ka gap then 6 ft tall window upar wali floor ki east wall pe.. so agar main top ceiling se bada fan hang karta hu to aapke concept ke hisaab se wo chandelier type look dega and then it will kill double heigh look.. thoda idea denge cassette ac and fan kahan hang karenge?

Because after interior is done its very hard to carry long stepladder into lobby which risks scratching, chipping or breaking surfaces. Also when to hang chandelier after tile work?
