For a while it was the 4th level for me. I sort of rushed the first 3 and as a result never had enough tokens to get the uppercut. I also didn't realise you could go back to get ones you missed (I was 7...). Don't ask me how but I did make it over the first spike pit, but no further until I found out about going back for tokens.

To be honest I never played BFBB only the movie game, and I lowkey want the movie game to get remastered, but on behalf of my nostalgia on this game ill happily buy the rehydrated game to basically play BFBB for the first time.

The song and variety of atmospheres really set BFBB apart (both back then and even to this day). I hope you'll find some enjoyment out of the rehydrated whenever we are blessed with it!

I remember playing this game on the ps2 with my family when I was like 7 years old. Now I’m 15 and wish I could go back to that. Every time me and my brothers would get stuck on a level my mom would try and help and she would usually beat it. But we never got past the bath tub level no matter how many times my mom tried. I guess we just stopped playing it after that. I also don’t know if it’s just me but every time me and my brothers played a game we would start from the very beginning of it even though we had like 20 memory cards on hand. Ahhhh the good old days. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug😢😥😪
my mom used to help me a lot too :) we made a lot of memories trying to drive that damn patty wagon and pretty much made it as far as you did. Those times were much simpler and it was a great bonding moment for us.
I actually remember drawing a picture of that image in elementary school. It was in an art show too. Looking back though, I think I went and made that picture too dark (light and shading wise, not the idea of SpongeBob drowning his depression in a not-so-healthy food, that's already pretty dark).
its the attention to detail...stuff we recognize from the show and extra easter eggs can make a licensed proterty game feel either great or bad..the gameplay helps too but its that feeling of playing the show in a game specifically the show you want to play and the care the creators pu tinto it that matters....something as small as the ice cream on patricks head makes it feel authentic
This game like the movie isn't just a game. It's a fucking odyssey through strange and horrifying lands. That whilst fighting to save what they love changes them into true heros.
Finding a video on this game alone brought a lot of nostalgia for me ,but the quality of the video really sealed the deal for me. Reminds me of when I played this back when I was 6.

Honestly this game had some of the most hardest fucking racing sections I've seen in a video game. Combine platforming with racing and you get this. Especially when it's a spongebob game.
This game I never got to have as a youngsta, nor did I even heard the movie even got its own platforming game of a kind. But watching a walkthrough video of it is just mesmerizing to how fun it was for other people who've played it since their days growing up too, and how it promotes the its film counterpart all the more worth while sought. I'm more than glad to be a SpongeBob fan 💯💯

5:30:00 GOD I HATED MINDY’S GUTS WHENEVER I REACHED THIS LEVEL. I was so excited to beating the game and then she cockblocks me from the next level because I needed 14 more tokens.

I played this game as a kid and never finished it because it was so hard. Broke it out last year to play with my gf and it was still hard af, but we got to the last level... we couldn't get past one part, and then we realized that we could UPGRADE OUR ABILITIES! We got through that whole goddamn game with no upgrades to anything thinking: "Wow, this is a really hard game for kids." Getting so pissed off that we couldn't get past impossibly hard enemies with the default attacks. Still was a really fun game though.
I remember that this game won a Kid's Choice Award for best video game, I recorded it on tape when it happened as I remember the host singing the Spongebob theme song to celebrate and a animated thank you from Gary and Spongebob. I don't have it anymore as I taped it over and gave away the tape but it's still there in my Spongebob memories from the mid 2000's.
I am 26. My bro just gave me our childhood GameCube with this game. It was the first videogame I ever played. Could never beat it. Didn't realize there were power ups then, didn't realize there were any now until I got to shell city dead ahead and could NOT move forward. Then I looked up this video and went omg. Then realized I had to press z. Had 11 power ups to use 😂 I'm so excited to keep playing. Thank you for this video - I will need it if I get stuck again
dude, I remember playing this game for hours, days, weeks. I even remember unlocking a lot of things and improving the attacks, this makes me remember all the effort I put into it when I was a kid. Also, I can remember how my little brother accidentally deleted all my progress. Off course I wouldn't play this shit again. (because the game is long af)

@@StevenJones851 The Now That We're Men was possibly the most creative level design I've seen for a kids game. It had random balls of lava shooting out at random points. It had eyes blinking in the bushes. Creepy music. Objects disappearing when you get close to them. Everything about that was genius.
Back then, we played Spongebob and were total badasses. Now, we play Call of Duty, Doom, I don't know what else. Maybe some Minecraft in between that. Gosh I am crying right now wow

As a kid, I could never get past "Now That We're Men." Now that I'm older, it, "Shell City Dead Ahead," and "Welcome to Planktopolis... Minions" are definitely the most enjoyable levels because they are pretty tough. Good game, but Battle for Bikini Bottom is everything!
BTBB was just ultimately better tbh. If there is one flaw the movie game had it's the crappy time and ring challenges you had to do because you didn't have enough tokens.
The patty wagon driving level just made me think deeply. So if SpongeBob is bad at driving the boat and failing so many driving tests, how come is he able to drive a patty wagon PERFECTLY in the SpongeBob movie?
In case you're wondering what happens at 5:20:42 if you press the wrong buttons, it goes like this: If 1 button is right but the other is wrong, nothing happens. Get both buttons wrong once, and an electrical hazard appears on the way forward, so it'd be a little difficult to proceed once you get it right. 2nd time both buttons are wrong: the lava rises to cover the floor. 3rd time: RIP. You shouldn't possibly get it wrong as the buttons are marked by the collectible objects.

Honestly this game had some of the most hardest fucking racing sections I've seen in a video game. Combine platforming with racing and you get this. Especially when it's a spongebob game.

This game I never got to have as a youngsta, nor did I even heard the movie even got its own platforming game of a kind. But watching a walkthrough video of it is just mesmerizing to how fun it was for other people who've played it since their days growing up too, and how it promotes the its film counterpart all the more worth while sought. I'm more than glad to be a SpongeBob fan 💯💯

Sorry I had to remove ocean man due to copyright, ive ran into a couple of my videos being blocked worldwide. So I try to avoid any copyright if possible. I tried to pick a suitable song from the game itself though.

I played this game as a kid and never finished it because it was so hard. Broke it out last year to play with my gf and it was still hard af, but we got to the last level... we couldn't get past one part, and then we realized that we could UPGRADE OUR ABILITIES! We got through that whole goddamn game with no upgrades to anything thinking: "Wow, this is a really hard game for kids." Getting so pissed off that we couldn't get past impossibly hard enemies with the default attacks. Still was a really fun game though.
This and Battle for Bikini Bottom were some of the best Gamecube games EVER! My childhood right here!

I remember that this game won a Kid's Choice Award for best video game, I recorded it on tape when it happened as I remember the host singing the Spongebob theme song to celebrate and a animated thank you from Gary and Spongebob. I don't have it anymore as I taped it over and gave away the tape but it's still there in my Spongebob memories from the mid 2000's.

I am 26. My bro just gave me our childhood GameCube with this game. It was the first videogame I ever played. Could never beat it. Didn't realize there were power ups then, didn't realize there were any now until I got to shell city dead ahead and could NOT move forward. Then I looked up this video and went omg. Then realized I had to press z. Had 11 power ups to use 😂 I'm so excited to keep playing. Thank you for this video - I will need it if I get stuck again

dude, I remember playing this game for hours, days, weeks. I even remember unlocking a lot of things and improving the attacks, this makes me remember all the effort I put into it when I was a kid.
Also, I can remember how my little brother accidentally deleted all my progress. Off course I wouldn't play this shit again. (because the game is long af)

The only bit of this I remember is where either Patrick or SpongeBob hooks their pants to a fishhook and dives down. They were trying to get something. That's literally it. I was like 4 when I watched my cousin play it.
When Loopy figured out the chest was at the bungee challenge entrance at 5:44:45, it was cathartic as hell.

It had random balls of lava shooting out at random points. It had eyes blinking in the bushes. Creepy music. Objects disappearing when you get close to them.
Everything about that was genius.

As a kid, I could never get past "Now That We're Men." Now that I'm older, it, "Shell City Dead Ahead," and "Welcome to Planktopolis... Minions" are definitely the most enjoyable levels because they are pretty tough. Good game, but Battle for Bikini Bottom is everything!
BTBB was just ultimately better tbh. If there is one flaw the movie game had it's the crappy time and ring challenges you had to do because you didn't have enough tokens.

In case you're wondering what happens at 5:20:42 if you press the wrong buttons, it goes like this:
If 1 button is right but the other is wrong, nothing happens.
Get both buttons wrong once, and an electrical hazard appears on the way forward, so it'd be a little difficult to proceed once you get it right.
2nd time both buttons are wrong: the lava rises to cover the floor.
3rd time: RIP. You shouldn't possibly get it wrong as the buttons are marked by the collectible objects.
