  • This video shows in detail how I ship my pottery for my Etsy store. The focus is not overusing materials and being price conscious. These are just my methods, but I have shipped thousands of pots without them breaking.

I can’t tell you how helpful this was for me!! I have only shipped about 4 boxes of my pottery since I have no online websites etc. I only sell locally. I only have one gift shop where I sell my pottery but it’s very large so I’m able to have a lot of pottery there. The biggest problem I’ve thought about when selling online is having to measure and weigh every piece to put that information on whatever platform you’re selling. Then keeping things straight and shipping in a timely manner! I have really bad adhd so if something is really boring for me I tend not to do it or I put it off forever. Anyway thank you sooo much. Like I said this was extremely helpful and I really appreciate you doing this! It looks like you have everything really well organized. Good to get information from someone who does things alot.

Shipping is incredibly boring. I was okay with it for awhile, but there comes a point when a task is just repetitive. Still, don't let that keep you from getting your pottery out there!

Thanks for this. I have started to produce mugs and have been wrestling over what size box for postage. I use bubble wrap also, seems the best option all round. ❤️

I think so too! For mugs, depending on the size and handle I will either use a 7x7x7 or an 8x8x8. I get my boxes on amazon in bulk and there are some good deals on there for that. I just don't use enough to go through places like Uline for boxes. And I use 3 pieces of bubble for items with handles. "Ground Advantage" is your friend.

Great info just what I was looking for! Do you drop off packages at the post office yourself or schedule a pickup? Also if you sell from Etsy will the outgoing address on shipping be my home address? I don't know how I feel about that. Loving the channel!

I do drive my packages to the post office every day. We don't have enough people at the local post office for them to really be able to come get my packages. Yes, when you are shipping through Etsy it does use your address. I am not sure how I feel about that either. I am so glad you like the channel so far!! And thanks for watching!
