Was installed in 1988 only. Went inside the motor room as the workers were dismantling the lift and saw that the motor was manufactured in September 1987, so the earliest possible year this lift could have completed installation is 1988.
Thank you! I've always compared it to the Toa Payoh installations and kept thinking it was around 1986 to 1987, and was really delusional about them being "modernized" from GEC Express elevators. Anyways I accept that they're replaced already, so I don't have anymore interest in these kind of elevators. I find them just ruining history. I can only infer that the original elevators were GEC Express due to the "special" design of these Fujitecs because of the lower headroom of the original GEC elevators. And now that these elevators are also getting phased out, good riddance to them. I'll take it that more new elevators are destroying "old" elevators that have once killed the originals.
