Probably around 2000 recorded names and the rest are spelling aliases. My guess anyway looking at that list. I should actually just pick apart the game files, i'm sure i'd find how the recordings are stored and how many there are eventually. (eventually might mean hundreds of hours of work, at which point, meh, i have other things to keep myself busy)
Nicholas Washburn Surprisingly the spelling variants are all the same clip but it's still a whole lot
hind the sad thing is there's only one tone for the names.
But good news for the voice actor. Relatively
Mujtaba Walji CLINT!
This game gave me the chills when my sister and I played it. The music and the atmosphere was creepy.
This game was SO scary to me lmao I used to watch my older sister and her friend play.. I remember the music in the theater would freak me out
14:33 ... that light pink heart behind the magician's trunk just looks like a large upwardly pointing butt.
Alan Rizkallah agreed
Hearts always look like butts.
More than they look like actual hearts anyway. XD
I mean, have you ever actually seen what a real heart looks like? Where did that shape come from, anyway? XD
Alan Rizkallah oh yeah! Your right! A plus size Barbie hiding back there? Haha
KuraIthys from someone who likes big (upside down) butts and can not lie?
Alan Rizkallah holy shit. XD Im cracking up. I didnt see it that way until I saw your comment.
I never expected I'd watch C L I N T play a Barbie game for an hour straight. Nevertheless, this might be the most I've ever been amused and entertained by an LGR video. You and Rose have great chemistry, and I was laughing my ass off at many points through the video. Good job, both of you.
If she just graduated detective school why does she need help?
she graduated she never said how
R K Makes sense
You could say, they 'nailed it'.
Detective Academy sounds pretty generic. Must be a diploma mill, and that's why she needs help.
R K she "graduated" by cheating in exams :D
"I have a crime computer." -Barbie
"C l i n t !" - Barbie
Me and my sister used to play this game when we were little, it was one of our favorites. We also played Nancy Drew so it makes sense.
Joslynch Dude “Midnight in Salem” still is t out it’s been like two years! Where my Drew, I’ve never been this deprived!
Me and my best friend too, I loooved it!
There are a lot of the Nancy Drew detective games they made so many, I have a drawer full of them
Came for LGR+Roses, stayed for ASMR bacon.
Druggist1982 Those crunch sounds were the BEST!
Had to skip over that part. DISCUSTANG
LGR+PUR adventure games are the best
I loved when he came back and said "I made bacon".
lol
@@TheBenSanders it's like he just gave up on the game, the whole video, and on life itself! 😂 🤣 "Fuck this, I'm gonna go get food!"
I think I trust Detective Pikachu more than I trust Detective Barbie.
That's not far to Pikachu.
I mean, I'd rather trust that coffee addict than Becky.
@Garrom Orc Shaman Detective Sonic
that name list is SO impressive.
"No one has a last name"
Barbie: "So you mean your Burt Franklin's son"
Mike Kazz *you’re
"Clint!" "GAAAAAHHH!"
Oh man, I LOVED this game as a kid. I remember the CD-ROM was also a music CD so you could listen to the dope carnival ride songs on your walkman, lol. Your guys' commentary is great.
Edit: "It's like Nascar with swans"
And: #BeckyDidIt
Every possible name except most "normal" names like Jane and Anna and Natalie.
_Chabreakah!_
LGR I think I went with Derserata! When I played this and Zxyxz (somehow pronounced Zeezee) for the sequel.
Resulka THERE'S A SEQUEL!?!?!
I feel for the voice-over lady who had to say every single one of those names in that overly cheerful voice...
Yeah, my brain can hardly grasp how weird it is that they decided to do that.
_(Sees sheer endless name list)_ Holy shit, and it's all voiced! I've never seen so much effort put into a player name system!
_Barbie:_ "Clint!"
...never mind :D
"Dang it, Barbie, no!" Hahaha!
"Look at how many versions of just Clydina there are."
Omg that list of names was huge. That’s really impressive.
krista graverson even more absurd to me is that she has a voice clip for EVERY SINGLE ONE
Like WHAT
The name Coleteetah literally has ZERO results in Google. They made up 100s, possibly 1000s of names and recorded voice clips for them along with the real ones. Clearly Mattel has deep pockets.
I'm guessing there are 1000 names but like 50 clips. It looks like a lot of them are different spellings
krista graverson Last time i saw this is in GRID/DIRT games, and it's not even this comprehensive
I bet they got that list from adictionary with rules applied and prepared for a password attack. Maybe that's exactly what this program is doing in the background, while in the foreground it just seems to be a harmless Barbie game aimed at torturing children. and Clints
Wait, why did Ken had all the charity money? What was he gonna do with it?!
He was going to blow it playing "the squirt game" with Barbie.
He was probably in charge of collecting and keeping an eye on it.
Cocaine
@@OtakuAudioRedux If you're going to take this seriously, I get to ask why the charity money needed to be kept by one random guy at the carnival instead of being put in a locked box or a briefcase or an unlocked box. And why that one guy was going to wander around at the carnival instead of putting the money somewhere it couldn't get pickpocketed.
I remember playing this with my cousin when we were little. We were so scared of the culprit. This really was a horror game to us.
Did Barbie's voice actress actually record each and every one of those names? That's remarkable. Also, CLINT!
Move over LA Noire
I automatically heard this in Ding Dong's voice.
They call me Jojo Started thinking of this track during the tunnel of love chase: ua-cam.com/video/keEZPKR2oMk/v-deo.html
Move over Star Wars.
"We're not going to do it..."
I predict a printed badge on the wall in the background in a future episode now....
I would watch a let's play channel that's just LGR and Pushing Up Roses. This is great!
Am I the only one who recognized Becky’s voice as the same voice actress who does Lil in All Grown Up (and I think probably also Rugrats)?
You mean Kath Soucie? Yes.
Yes, Kath Soucie voiced Lil (and Phil) in both Rugrats and All Grown Up!
I am legally changing my name to Coleetah
My sister had this game back in 98 and I’d play it with her because she was a little too young for it at the time. So surprised to see it here. Awesome
*CLEAN'T!*
I used up 55 minutes and 41 seconds of my life watching this video... I regret nothing. 😅😆😆
That name list haunts my cousin. They had "Halea" (Huh-lee-uh) on that list, but not Haley.
My cousins and I remember this game as being very creepy, but when we saw footage of it recently, we were genuinely surprised that it was so brightly colored.
Yoachan It's weird, a lot of people remember this game being scary. Small scale Mandela effect?
It can be easy for a kid to confuse anything with being creepy/possibly scary. The nighttime theme might help in that.
Re-watching this, I keep screaming at my laptop every time Roses passes over an obvious handprints or footprints on screen.
HollowedJes THANK YOU, IT IS KILLING ME
Oh my lord, as an avid barbie collector and LGR fan this is a perfect video. Thanks Clint! 🤗🤗
CLINT.
Just played this! Didn't figure out what "hot" clue meant vs a "cold" clue for a long time
HOW DID YOU PLAY IT???!!!! MY DISK WON'T WORK
@@OwenWenner Your disk probably has disk rot. See if the internet archive has a CD image of the game.
used a virtual machine. There were guides how to install on the Speedrun page for Detective Barbie 2 @@OwenWenner
I really enjoyed this, I laughed so hard...
You should definitely play the second game as well!
SmoochyTea there's more of these? Omg they have to play them all!
