    • @JaemanEdwards
      @JaemanEdwards Рік тому +1

It's not about intimidation. It's an honoured tradition. It's about what it does for your own spirit. The haka has a magical effect on your spirit. Your body does involuntary things. You feel 10ft tall. In ancient times it was a war dance to prepare for battle. In modern times it is done to mark special occasions, weddings, homecoming, funerals. There is a video called "Haka across sports" that shows national sports teams from New Zealand. These are all mainly haka from World Cups, or World Championships.
      These sports :
      American Football
      Australian Rules Football
      Baseball
      Basketball
      Handball
      Hockey
      Ice Hockey
      Indoor Cricket
      Kabaddi
      Lacrosse
      Netball
      Rugby
      Rugby League
      Rugby Sevens
      Softball
      Volleyball
      Wheelchair Rugby
That's right. Haka on ice skates and wheelchairs. This is NZ bro. This is who we are. 5 million strong. Taking on the world.

One of the things on my bucket list is to go to New Zealand 🇳🇿 one day, learn about the Māori Culture, learn about the Haka, and if possible, given permission to do a Haka.
