I'm an EMT and the video of events is highly disturbing because everything the officer did was wrong. As a first responder, the officer is trained to follow a protocol when someone becomes unresponsive, and that is to immediately check pulse and administer CPR if necessary. The officer also would know that George was doing agonal gasps, a classic sign of someone in extreme medical distress/dying, and CPR is immediately necessary. Also, the officer never should have had his knee on Georges neck, but on his back if necessary. Everyone knows how fragile necks are. No one puts their weight on someones neck without knowing it will inevitably hurt them. I have almost no doubt that officer knowingly let George die. He was staring down at him, he would be able to observe that George was no longer breathing. Even after George became unresponsive, the officer remained on his neck and didn't check pulse/CPR likely because civilians were telling him to and he didn't want to be told what to do. He's the one who tells people what to do. Having worked alongside hundreds of police officers, I assure you some of them are seriously high on their own authority.

My friend, Elijah McClain died in an almost identical way at the hands of Aurora Colorado police...August 2019....Aurora, Colorado...NO crime was committed by Elijah. I'm an EMT and the video of events is highly disturbing because everything the officer did was wrong. As a first responder, the officer is trained to follow a protocol when someone becomes unresponsive, and that is to immediately check pulse and administer CPR if necessary. The officer also would know that George was doing agonal gasps, a classic sign of someone in extreme medical distress/dying, and CPR is immediately necessary. Also, the officer never should have had his knee on Georges neck, but on his back if necessary. Everyone knows how fragile necks are. No one puts their weight on someones neck without knowing it will inevitably hurt them. I have almost no doubt that officer knowingly let George die. He was staring down at him, he would be able to observe that George was no longer breathing. Even after George became unresponsive, the officer remained on his neck and didn't check pulse/CPR likely because civilians were telling him to and he didn't want to be told what to do. He's the one who tells people what to do. Having worked alongside hundreds of police officers, I assure you some of them are seriously high on their own authority.

My friend, Elijah McClain died in an almost identical way at the hands of Aurora Colorado police...August 2019....Aurora, Colorado...NO crime was committed by Elijah. The multiple officers involved got paid administrative leave and within a very short time they were all back on the job. Where is the justice? So unnecessarily sad and disgusting. Elijah deserves the same national attention.

I found out about this today and I'm on the verge of crying. I personally didn't know him, I can't imagine what his family is going through. It ruined my day, but the people who knew him will carry this grief for the rest of their lives. And now, they must put their faith in the system that already profusely failed them.
Agony, despair and confusion must have been what George undeservedly felt in his last moments. Just barbaric. I wish strength to those who love George, in this surreal struggle.

Might not just be about race, I think the cop was just a power tripping piece of garbage that was too high on his own authority. He wouldn't get off Georges neck even after George was unconcious, likely because people were telling him to and he didn't want to do what civilians said. He wanted to show he was "boss". A trained officer/first responder would KNOW that when a person goes unconscious, you have a protocol. Check pulse and administer CPR if needed. The cop just kept sitting on his neck and refusing to check pulse cause he didn't want to do what the crowd was telling him to. That's why he got mad and threatened to mace them too. Straight up drunk on power and it led to a murder. I hope he goes to jail.
