Happy Easter Daryl, to you & your family. Love the update, but absolutely loved hearing that you simply played with your trains for 2 days. Keep up the great work
I have experienced similar problems with the USPS. Who thought a package shipped from PA to KC shortest rout was through FL. LOL Thanks Louis DeJoy!!!!
When I was working out on the Salt Lake Sub (now Evanston Sub), I was assigned to an American Presidents Line executive passenger train from Ogden to Green River. Long boring story of a complete breakdown in planning and communication by senior management. It was a horrible executive error that I ended up getting put into the middle of. I ended up recommending that the passengers be fed breakfast at Morgan, the buses that were supposed meet the passengers who were to disembark at Ogden be rerouted to Morgan to meet the passengers and take them to the airport. Everyone loved the idea, but they wanted me to explain to the American Presidents Line senior executives why they were at Morgan rather than Ogden. So the Senior VP of Marketing that was on the train came up to the locomotives once we arrived Morgan and asked me to come back to the banquet car to eat with the executives. I thought, “OK. Cool. I get to eat with executives.” But once I got onto the banquet car and sat down, the Senior VP of Marketing addressed the VIP’s from APL and said I would explain why the train was at Morgan rather than at Ogden. He handed me the microphone. So I stood up and asked the passengers to please take a few moments to look outside. It was April and the wildflowers were blooming in the field with the snow capped mountains basically surrounding the train in the distance. I then told them, “We made a last minute decision to bring the you to Morgan to have breakfast in the most picturesque valley anywhere on Union Pacific System.” To my surprise, all of the VIP’s started clapping and the Marketing VP told me “Great impromptu speech.”
I had the same thing happen to a package that I shipped to a buyer, but it wasn't delivered for two months. I don't ship USPS anymore. Glad you finally received it. Great layout. Happy Easter!!
1:41 That's quite a detour for a package that originated in suburban Milwaukee.😳Seems like the closer the origin and destination, the likelihood for errors in the routing somehow _increases._ Have had a number of similar issues where a package literally circled my state _twice_ before I received it. Glad you finally got it. Sheesh!
Very nice work. Sometimes it is nice ti be able to build a bridge but have the subroadbed be part of the structure. I keeps the track well supported and aligned. So your construction should yield a strong track structure and a nice bridge scene.
Where do you order your polystyrene sheet from? I live 10 miles from Pewaukee so would be much easier to get it from them than ordering and having it shipped. And I'm in need of some additional sheets now. Thanks and great update as always!
That takes care of Phase 2 bridges are in and the backdrop is up now to get really messy Phase 3 Plastering, Painting, Scenery, and finally Shadowing which is installing the photos on the backdrop. Once that is done Phase 4 Ballasting, Texturing, Detailing, and finally Painting and Weathering to seal everything up. Morgan is taking shape soon we will move on Carter and Leroy top level and Taggert and Devils Slide lower level. Can't wait until it is done. The west bridge is the location of CP Morgan West this location is right by the railyard and has crossovers. For this location time to take a leaf out of the late Andy Sperandeo's book "If you can not build the crossover on the bridge fake it and build the bridge around it" thats what you had to do the other one was just cut and replace.
Looking better by the day, daryl, must have done that sky colours myself a dozen times in my life since 1980, few modelers realise just what a lighter lower sky colour makes,,fact is they dont go outside and ,,look,. Instead of ,,see,, only problem of course is to keep those blendings paralel, ,n

There's a sorting center in Fayetteville. I could have picked it up for you!
And then delivered it and run some trains 🙂

I usually order from Lombard Hobbies. But they were out of stock. So, I got these from Hiawatha Hobbies.
Try a chiseled brush. I think you will find it easier for painting the backdrop.
Good idea
