No it isn't, Marlon Moraes has legitimately awful cardio for a Bantamweight. And that maybe because the weight cut negatively effects his cardio because he's big for the division. putting conor in the worst wrestling category is probably the funniest thing I have ever seen. He stuffed many of khabib's takedown and easily showed khabib the most wrestling defence and he easily beat Max Holloway with the help of his wrestling as he easily out wrestled Max
Just came across your channel, and you've got some great picks across the board. That said, throwing Kimbo in as one of the worst wrestlers and CM Punk in amongst the worst strikers is kind of a copout in my opinion. Both of those guys were signed as a sort of freak show attraction designed to generate PPV buys, and they both basically got the bare minimum of training to make it happen. At least Kimbo (RIP) earned his stripes beating the shit out of people in backyard boxing type fights vs. scripted wrestling matches. Good on you for calling out Conor and Ronda, though. People get butthurt about both of them, but they were both fighters skilled in one discipline that had yes men surrounding them telling them they were good all around. Nice vid
@@southtxguitarist8926 funny but the truth is at that time had cm punk not accelerated ppv buys by bringing in the WWE fans we may not even be talking about MMAright now oh and the same goes for Connor as well lots of people hate him but if we didn't have those guys that pull buys then we would have had a really boring past few years 😉 .. @@southtxguitarist8926 No business makes spashy moves like that expecting a 100% return rate. At best, some WWE fans might have enjoyed the undercard and decided to watch or buy future UFC events. At worst, the company does a bunch of extra PPV buys for that singular event and no one comes back. Either way, the company is making short term gains based on their investment. Obviously Punk is terrible and didn't deserve to be there, but that event did half a million PPV buys - UFC 201 didn't; even do half that, and the PPV afterwards didn't crack 300k.UFC 202, which took place just before Punk made his debut, had McGregor vs. Diaz II on it so it's a bit of an outlier at nearly 1.7 million buys.
Conor as a runner-up for worst wrestling is terrible there are farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr worse wrestlers in the UFC than Conor he's not even close to the worst and definitely shouldnt be a runner-up, just look at the Khabib fight and how surprised majority of the people watching/analysing it and how he was actually defending the takedowns but obviously defending 1 or 2 against Khabib isnt enough and he eventually got him down.
Zabit had an issue with (from memory)diaphragm spasms , has been corrected recently by surgery. Will be interesting to see what happens when he makes his return as that would severely impact his cardio.
Conor’s wrestling really isn’t that bad tbh. He actually had some success defending Khabib’s takedowns and even Khabib himself said he had good wrestling. It’s just that Khabib is levels above everyone on the ground.
All the guys you say are bad at wrestling, it's not wrestling that seems to be the problem, it seems to be BJJ that's the problem, being in guard on the bottom and working for positions changes is bjj.
To even have Conor McGregor in the list just shows that this is bias. He is actually a great defensive wrestler, and he haven't really been submitted by having bad skills.. it's because of his cardio that he got submitted.
Conor actually has solid wrestling, it’s just that he usually fights guys that are elite wrestlers or have amazing BJJ (Khabib & Mendes & Diaz) He defended Khabib’s takedowns better than anyone else and wrestled Holloway to a decision after blowing out his ACL
'Usually' my foot ! His entire UFC featherweight run,was made up of non-wrestler opponents (a reporter even called him out on the notable lack of wrestler opponents) up until Mendes (who reportedly had less than 2 weeks to prepare) and Mendes still gave Conor the most competitive fight of that run. He didn't 'wrestle Holloway to a decision' at all 🙄. As for Diaz's BJJ; well he didn't 'shoot' on Conor did he ? Conor's ability to 'defend a takedown ' or 'defensively wrestle' didn't really come into play at all. Stay in your lane , casual and/or do some research ! 🤫

Gilbert Burns admitted he was quite impressed by Connor's performance against Khabib (and that guy is a BJJ world champion). Also, the short-notice fight with Chad Mendes was actually worst for Connor, because he was training for a striker and had to fight one of the best wrestlers in the division without any form of proper preparation (and he still managed to win!). Connor doesn't have bad wrestling, it's actually better than average. Hooker is probably the guy in the top 15 lightweights with the worst wrestling.
Actually Mike The Count sat down on his punches more in that time of his career: so that and Luke Rockhold's weak chin was a disaster waiting to happen
I think Mark Hunt had better grappling than Kimbo Slice, who didn't fight real competition, whereas Mark Hunt was getting outgrappled by world class grapplers.
Saw the thumbnail and came here just to say McGregor's takedown defence is extremely underrated. Division 1 wrestler Chad took him down but far less than he'd have liked, he stuffed every one of Eddie's wrestling attempts - Eddie was offered scholarships to colleges but at 17 decided to pursue MMA - and again with Khabib, a 2 time world combat sambo champion, he naturally got taken down a lot (Khabib had relentless pressure and gas tank) but still he stuffed a good number of takedowns all the same. He did far better against Khabib than BJJ black belt Poirier (not strictly wrestling, more grappling but the point absolutely stands if we're calling McGregor the worst) and D1 Gaethje who both got straight mauled without a prayer except for Poirier's guillotine option. To call him the worst wrestler is nonsense if you've seen his fights.
What's funny is that Poirier is a BJJ blackbelt and it wasn't quite apparent in his fights look how he's easily giving his neck. I like Poirier but that black belt is just suspicious to me. At least on Gaethje's we know he's not a grappler at all and McGregor is only a brown belt under his friend coach which is suspicious too, but cmon Conor was doing better against him on defensive grappling.
@@eetfuk3571 Yeah man Poirier, bizarrely, has come to be known to be really susceptible to the grapplers and wrestlers and that seems weird to me given he's celebrated as a very accomplished Jiu Jitsu practitioner yet the proof has been in the pudding even just in the recent times of Khabib and Oliveira. And Gaethje's even worse because, perhaps not ground game but wrestling, he's a D1 wrestler but he's even outright admitted that there's something in him what just doesn't click to wrestle, plus he prefers standing and fighting as he says it's more entertaining and earns him more bonuses. I think what helped Conor as well was his old training in movement from 2015-16. While he didn't at all seem like he was still training with Ido Portal, you could see the way he managed during Khabib takedown attempts was reminiscent of that training. That's why I think he had a naturally ingrained edge over the other two when it came to defending against Khabib.
There's a netflix anime called Kengan Ashura. IMO, it has one of the best breakdowns of the importance of wrestling/grappling in MMA. One character spent many years as a wrestler, then switched to boxing for several years. In the show, he started his fight as a boxer, but on a dime, he switched to wrestling, and proceeded to switch between multiple styles at a rapid pace. The narrator revealed that during the years of his boxing career, the character never backed off of his wrestling training. The narrator goes on to say that a better striker can lose to a lucky punch. But when it comes to wrestling/grappling, if all other variables are equal, the more skilled wrestler will win.
For Cody I don't think his chin is weaker than others, I think its because he gets so emotional in his fights that he just start slugging and leaves his chin open for perfectly timed shot. Watch his ko loses and you'll see what I mean, those shots would knock out anyone in the division it just happens more often with Cody cause he drops his hands and basically asking for punch or kick to the jaw
Come on ,i was waiting for you to mention Khabib at the no striking one , at least as a runner up ,come on guys ,let's be real here, the ONLY strike Khabib knows to throw is a right overhand with his eyes closed.
Khabib stood to toe to toe with your hubby conor 😉 and watch AL s fight, he butchered the guy on the feet as he wanted to show people how much he has improved his striking. But a conor loverboy will be always be a hater lol

Conor has atleast good td defense
Edson's losses are mostly because he gasses out and gets smashed by wrestlers. It's either his wrestling or his lack of defense
Edson is definitely worse than Conor in ground game. No disrespect to Edson, but I don't really think how come Edson got his black belt in jiu-jitsu. It wasn't visible in most of his fights even at Dariush fight but he eventually land a coup de grace on that fight. He can't even keep Khabib at his guard and he easily let Tony strangle him.

You should never say someone who has 7 decision wins and 2 5 round title fights has the worst cardio Marlon problem is more of a chin thing rather than his cardio
No it isn't, Marlon Moraes has legitimately awful cardio for a Bantamweight. And that maybe because the weight cut negatively effects his cardio because he's big for the division. And those decision wins (including the Aldo 'robbery'), its because he didn't blow his wad in the first round like he did in other fights.

This is now in my top 3 favorite MMA channels
Saying Conor is the worst wrestler is just saying -- "I don't watch mma."
He's stuffed Mendes and Khabib's takedowns...speaks for itself.
