Yes PLEASE go into detail about home buying bc in clueless but would like to be prepared for the future when I buy one!
Look into first time homebuyer programs in your state. Where I live we have a program that provides education and an advisor to help you through the home buying process. If you take their classes and use their approved lenders they provide funding to help with the down-payment and a tax credit that you get every year as long as you own the house.

Save as much cash as possible, and definitely make sure to get preapproved by a reputable company in your area. Also, working with a great realtor helps. I’m settling on my first home this Thursday :)
Save as much as you can! in my area houses are going for 300k I would have to save 60k 20 percent for a down payment then save another 10k for closing costs but for me to even afford the mortgage I would have to put down 100k. I know there is a fha loan 5 percent down but if I went that route I wouldn’t be able to afford the mortgage 😫

If you're a first time home buyer, make sure to check out what benefits are included, if any, also. When I got the place I'm in (my parents bought it but it's in my name at I was first time home buyer), I got the land transfer tax back and because I make under a certain amount of money a year I was able to get the place fully insulated for free (there was literally none lol), and the hydro company had perks for people who make under a certain amount of money a year. So definately be sure to check that stuff out also!

Don't buy a house with someone your not married to. If you break up things can get messy and courts don't deal with living together vs being married. If you do get a home without being married have everything written out about what would happen in case of a split and have it notorized
