7:06 Another reason Shang Tsung feels like the most fitting canonical pick is because Titan Shang Tsung's line before starting the boss fight is a direct callback to New Era Shang Tsung.
@ Titan Shang specifically references "The question you should ask yourself" line, which was used by New Era Shang Tsung's during the opening and a second time while convincing Bi Han to betray Lui Kang.
I liked that some characters have consistent narratives cross the generations of mortal Kombat, such as Baraka, Milleena, arguably Sareena, and even Kung Lao.
8:49 Based on speculation of some of the stuff introduced dialogue has mentioned about Cyrax and Sektor's backstories, I suspect Sektor's fathers is going to become Triborg and it will be suggested he was Sektor from previous timeline's. Triborg would have access to Sektor's moveset, Smoke's moveset because it's mentioned that Sektor trained Smoke, Cyrax's moveset through integrating Cyrax's father, and Sub Zero's moveset through integrating Bi Han and Kuai Liang's father. Making Triborg a combination of the 3 dads of the New Era's Lin Kuei.

Back with a good ol canon ball video this one of my favorites as I proudly explained half of this all year as a mk fan and learned that the story came than I’ve known
Another story I just realized could be a cross timeline story is Bi-Han and his fathers story we were told about in MK1. How? Easy. In Mythologies, it's mentioned in Bi-Han's bio that his father kidnapped him and Kuai from their mother and sister when they were young and brought them to the Lin Kuei. After that, we never really get a mention or reference to the father again for many years until MK1 comes around, where it's revealed Bi-Han let his father die after they had an accident. While I don't think the father kidnapped them in the current timeline, mostly cause Liu Kang, if you pretend MK1 takes place in the same universe years after Mythologies, Bi-Han's reason for letting his father die makes sense. It could be seen as Bi-Han's revenge against his father for kidnapping him and his brother from their family as children and forcing them to be assassin's for hire.
I noticed the parallel between Shang and Shujinko in MK1's story, but for some reason, I never considered him being the one fighting in the final battle to bring it full circle. Weird.
NRS needs to hire storywriters from DC Comics or Dark Horse so they can make them deeper and more sensical. It's the only way to get the stories better and visceral.
Bi Han and Sektor is some of the dumbest coupling that I've ever seen when literally Bi-Han already loved Sareena and Sektor could give a toss about romance.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: MK11 onwards ruined and contradicts the One Being concept from Deception. If timekeepers are responsible for the realms and creation, then they have to be responsible for creating the One Being and the Elder Gods that lead to future events. I’m open to explanations or to be proven wrong.
And people wanna turn a blind eye to mk11 saying it’s all great again, despite it being well known to pretty much the first modern mk game to cause a massive controversy in the mk fanbase. Most of what mk1 is doubled down from mk11
I said it once before and I’ll say it again: timelines ruined Mk and they need to be thrown out if we want the stories to become any better. This multiverse nonsense never fit into the lore to begin with and only muddies things further. I really want to go back to the days when MK had lower stakes as opposed to having entire universes wiped out..
@@nabilahmed579That’s because this fanbase is stupid. Only this fanbase could look you in the eye & tell you that one of the worst fighting games ever created is a good game
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it's stated anywhere that the Titans/Time Keepers are responsible for the realms and their creation, just the flow of time within those realms. Granted NRS hasn't made this easy to understand because instead of just making Kornika the Elder God of Time, they had to make a whole new race for her and have yet to properly explain it even though something this big that hasn't even been referenced in MK's three decade long history deserves some explaining!
I think Onaga would've been great in M1K. Liu tried to make a peaceful world, dealing with Shang Tsung, Shao Khan and Quan Chi. Shinnok and Kronika having been dealt with. And that works for a number of years, until Onaga shows up, a threat this Liu Kang has no knowledge of because he was fought in the original timeline (and that Liu Kang was dead anyway, and the Raiden that got merged with this Liu Kang isn't from that timeline). The events that take place force Firegod to realize that trying to ensure peace through constantly reverting time is fruitless, just as it was for Kronika. Something is going to happen that you cannot account for. So he casts off the powers of the time god permanently and resolves to put his faith in his friends in being able to handle things, just like they had time and time again.
I actually appreciate Mileena’s story in the new MK, making Tarkat a disease is a drawback compared to sorcery. But actually getting Mileena apart of the Edenian dynasty is how it always should’ve been. Every other MK either had her outcast already or conspiring to beseech the throne. In MK1 we actually get to see their family dynamics before it’s all spoiled and we see Mileena slowly becoming her manipulative self. It’s a much better version because it leaves us wondering if Mileena is inherently evil or a victim of circumstance instead of being a duplicitous evil twin.
Theory: Liu Kang "removed" Onaga's threat by making him a mindless monster and making his army now be an Earthrealm thing. However in the explanation of the Dragon Army's origin, it's mentioned that the Great Mages of the Emperor's Court enchanted them to be able to protect him in the afterlife. I feel that, if this timeline were to have a proper followup/conclusion that doesn't involve more multiverse bs, a neat twist would be to have Onaga be the final boss once more. But how if he's just some big ol' monster? I think Onaga being just a random beast now is part of his usual deception, perhaps he has let himself be restrained as he plots his ascension from behind the scenes, influencing events (via the astral projection seen in his debut). Perhaps Emperor Ying's great mages were actually his followers, or the emperor himself is influenced by Onaga's presence, as it was before, a lot of individuals just doing Onaga's bidding without knowing. Yeah its basically a repeat of the main plot, but who's to say Onaga isn't probably benefitting from the many attacks on Liu's timeline? So many distractions that Liu, who clearly wasn't aware of all threats around, wouldn't notice the biggest threat comes from his own timeline.
I imagine Kitana from MK1 dying against Shao. That will make Mileena furious and crazy. The only way to help her is to bring back Titan Kitana from MK11. This Kitana doesn't know that a good Mileena exist and this Mileena doesn't know that she a clone in previous timeline. The two might fight for saving Outworld what a Banger storyline...

Timelines merging and yet we *don't* have character from other ending (Shao kahn from armageddon, one being onaga) to allow those story to continue is a travesty. MK can make timelines work better than most franchise and yet they fumble hard
One being Onaga or full Kamidogu Onaga probably would’ve destroyed everyone as you can’t fight the one being unless your a titan or mainly the elder gods so for Armageddon Shao that’ll work but definitely not one being Onaga. And also I agree I think the timeline stuff could’ve been better but so far yeah it just doesn’t work

God Liu Kang wants him dead and even when he can shape-shift then i am sure God Liu Kang would at least know from what Time Line the Kombatant he is talking to should be from,
and God Liu Kang states that Kombatant to be from a Different Time-Line,
and despite that the ending is of the M1K's version of the Kombatant you have chosen
Your argument is based on Shang Tsung being the only one that doesn't use an Alt-Costume for that Chapter, but he is a Pre-Order Bonus/DLC,
So that could make it an exception for him,
Also if we don't count Shang Tsung & Shujingo then there's another Kharacter that can use everyone's moveset,
That being the Make a Fighter from Mortal Kombat Armageddon,
So my headcanon is that the Kanon Kharacter of that Khapter is The Player himself (as the Make a Fighter was supposed to represent the Player too)
It make sense to me
We are clearly from a different Tim-Line & we get the Ending of That M1K's version of the Kharacter instead of the version we play as,
because we are playing as ourselves,
so there's no need to tell our own story but we want to know about the M1K's Kharacters instead
