Another great vid Nandor! Nice work as usual framing your shots and running ahead to alternate forward/backward angles of your group. Love the sunrise scenes from O Kona and especially the town side view around 8:16 with orange highlights on the ridges :)
Mahalo Chris! This was a pretty “sweaty shooting” on the 1st day haha. At the end it all worth the effort. Oh yes, those highlights pn the ridge line 😍
Awesome adventure & really great video! Looks like a loop I’ll definitely be trying soon, thanks for sharing but also for keeping the exact location private.
Hahaha hearing that rain on the tent triggered my Ko'olau PTSD so hard. Never forget my first backpacking experience up there, 3 straight days of rain, and the absolute grit and strength it takes in the morning to be the first out of your tent and packed up and ready to go when your other hiking buddies are dragging their feet so then you are just sorta stuck sitting in the rain, tentless and shivering because you can't move to keep warm and oh my goodness this is why i just want to solo the KST bc i don't wanna wait for NOBODY ANYMORE because its COOOOLD 🥶 can we get a gear review sometime for the best Ko'olau multi day traverse items?? When you said your pack was 25lbs and yet you still busted out a pillow I laughed
Oh girl, I like how you say “Ko’olau PTSD”. I think we all have that feeling up in there. This was the first time, I wasn’t cold and lazy to get out of the tent barefoot and pee😂 It was the most enjoyable bad weather up there! That pillow was my savior for a good sleep. Worth every extra weight (which is not much). I had 25lbs because of my canera gear, drone, small tripod… I was thinking of doing a gear video too, thanks for reminding me.
I use the Hyperlite Mountain Gear 3400 SouthWest. I love this pack and I used for years. The tent is a Six Moons Design Lunar Solo. It is an old tent already, but still helds up and it is under 2lbs.
Nice.. You are up above Kuliouou! The Kooluas are magnificent. There dozens of summits where you can pitch a small tarp up there. Or go north and use the cabins for a more remote experience
Yes, there are plenty places up there where you can camp. I have been up in the cabins in different occasions and they are definitely more remote. But this place was on my list for along time🤙🏻
27 minutes ago is crazy! Hey i love your content and im hiking almost every damn weekend. I never backpacked before and the highest ive ever been was kuliouou (so happy when I saw the peak at the end of this vid). Just gave your IG a follow!
Right on man! Hike and explore whenever you have time, that’s the way you gather knowledge and experience. There is so much to learn about these mountains🤙🏻

Thanks Tom! You can always come visit!
Beautiful camping trip for sure. After a stormy night a glorious morning hike. Really perfect.
It turned out great! You just never know up there
i love these videos as someone who wants to visit hawaii the same way you do ❤
Well, I live here for about 10 years now. There is always something new you can try to do even on a place where you explored almost everything.
Awesome video.. Can't beat the island mountains
Thanks man! Yes, the Ko’olaus are something else🤙🏻
Love it as always brother
Mahaloz 🤙🏻

Nice Nandor. Maybe one day I can do that!
Mike, you can, you just have to want it!💪🏼
An Om mantra in the Ko'olaus?! Have I died and reached nirvana ALREADY?! I love listening to music like that up there (and ancient viking chants too )
When I found that song I felt it has a perfect place in the misty parts of the Ko’olaus. I am glad you liked it too☺️
cool beans!
😄
