I absolutely love this video! I love the Dynamics and fun between Collett and Emmi. ;) I do have a couple of suggestions. The first one; when you’re pinning the fabric pieces to sew, you need to put the pins in perpendicular to the hem or edge of the fabric. There won’t be so much poking. Lol And the sewing machine can sew right over them, as long as you watch. The second one; when you have something smaller to sew, the end of the sewing machine case on the bottom by the needle will pull off. It turns into a skinny little frame, and you can fit the pant leg directly over the end of the sewing machine. It makes it a lot easier to sew things like that.
Last summer my mum did the same thing for me with a black dress I found at the thrift store, it was also too short for school/college, but with black lace, gotta love mums with sewing skills 😁

I kept waiting for you to take the white piece off the sewing machine so the leg part would fit around it (hard to explain lol) but you can the slide the pant leg around it so easier....it helps with arm holes and pant legs :) Love this idea!
Love it! FYI the bottom of your sewing machine will slide off and it makes it easier to sew around loops like a pant leg 😉 I’m a seamstress. You did great!

Just a fyi for your diy, next time you can remove part of the machine and it makes it easier to sew pant legs without sewing over the lace or pant leg, it's also called a whip stitch (I'm old). But that lace is pretty and turned out awesome.

Great idea! So many shorts in the shops are too short for young girls. I often buy my little girl shorts in the boys section (they have better/deeper pockets too) so that they don't show too much. Just a little tip for you in return for this one, the plastic surrounding the needle plate section should pull off. Then you would be able to sew without catching the lace below.
