As many of you may already know, this song holds a special place for me. What my daughter has been through in the past year has astonished us all. At such a young age, she’s already shown incredible strength of heart and spirit. With the video for this song, I wanted to capture what it is to be a kid. Young lives are filled with curiosity, tenderness, risk, joy, and sadness. I know it’s easy to look back in our childhood and remember it as “simple”, but I think it’s far from it.
This video was directed by Hayley Young and shot in a beautiful location close to where I live. I’m so proud to share it now.

Dedicated this song to my girlfriend and her daughter before their plane left for Africa. Also professed my love to both of them. Those last lyrics hit me hard. I'm grateful that she has put in the emotional work to love me like she's never loved before. Despite her disappointment.

She shows many signs.... no official diagnosis yet. I hope I am doin' a good enough job that she can see at times there is beauty in suffering.

Perfection.
My best friend took her own life recently and requested this song to be played at her funeral. I listen to it on repeat bawling my eyes out every day. This song can be interpreted into so much more than what it was intended to but the original story behind it just makes it all the more special.

This song reminds me of my little sister who passed away a few years ago. It was a normal evening when she got really sick and in the morning when Mum woke her up she didn't wake up. She was an incredibly strong person who made anyone laugh. People in our village bullied her because she had downsyndrome but I didn’t let them say anything to her, I was always there for her. She was more than little sister, she was my best friend and the only person who made me smile even though we lived in war. I wish I could visit her grave someday, it’s war in Irak so I can’t visit her now but soon i hope. This song raises great memories of my beloved angel. 😭👼🏼

Long story short I've really struggled with bpd and depression for a while. I was going to call off my wedding and leave but I found this song last night and listened to it, it gave me a positive vibe and better outlook on life and put me in such a good motivated mood. Then this morning I hug my partner and 3 children and tell them " I'm not going anywhere ". Thank you ❤️

On Jan 4, 2020, I flew home to see my dad one last time before he passed away from leukemia the next day. At the airport on the 4th, I couldn't stop crying while sitting by myself. I desperately needed comfort. While boarding the Delta flight, this song was playing. I had already loved it and knew the lyrics by heart. But I felt that song on another level. My best friend when I was a boy, was a girl. We met when we were 8-years old, just starting the 3rd grade. Her house was just a short bike ride away. We had the same bus route. We even almost shared a birthday. Her birthday was a day before mine, born in the same hospital too. We always felt our friendship was meant to be. To this day, I still believe it. We were inseparable, she was my best buddy. I was afforded the opportunity to see such wisdom, love, character, strength and light from a female most men & boys choose to ignore. After 28 years, we're still friends. She now has two little girls of her own. I'm so happy and proud of her.
I love how the song is about this lovely girl while still showing a lot of the people and things around her (especially a few shots only shows her brother) since her observation of and connection with everything and everyone else in the world is part of her identity. Especially love these shots where she silently observes the people around her going about their daily tasks, as she unknowingly treasures all the little moments of this beautiful life.

Thank you... Thank you so much... I have two daughters, both under 3 years old, and this song captures exactly my feelings for them. I want the world for them, but not to give it to them. I simply want to be there to show them how to navigate this life and to help them up when they fall. I want to hold their hand through the rough patches, instead of carrying them through. I want to tear down any system or belief that would rob them of opportunity simply because of their gender, but teach them how to overcome that themselves because this world is imperfect. I know as well as anyone that this life is hard, but there is joy to be found, as they have proven to me... Again, thank you so much!

I have felt this way about my people in general ever since I was blessed enough to survive childhood cancer. I was lucky enough to put that feeling into practice while working in an Emergency Room and Anesthesia dept for 15+ years. Every man, woman, child, grandparent, parent, vagrant and absolutely everything in-between should get the opportunity to see and live life that way. Just because we are a certain age doesn't mean we don't have things to learn and moments to experience and marvel at, I know this as inner growth. Songs like this keep my hope alive for my children and every other homosapien walking the planet.
This song is all about the resilient love of our parents to us.
I have a daughter (3) and two sons (1, 5). Just been through a rough year myself and how hard I tried, i'm sure it affected my kids somehow. It's astonishing to see how strong they are and this song hits me everytime. So pure and the lyrics are so recognizable. Promise me/us that you never stop writing songs like this. The world needs to hear it!
