snowdin forest is definitely where i began to appreciate just how pretty this game looks... i love undertale but the color palette choices in this game are gorgeous
I always call this area the "snowdin lowlands" because if you compare the enviroments from the regular undertale snowdin and this one you'll realize the former is kind of a mountain village while the latter doesn't have as much high altitude lookouts like the former also the fact that Honeydew Resort is clearly trying to be that one house that stands out from the bridge lookout with Papyrus's greatest puzzle yet
Funny story: It was around this point in the game that my left hand started cramping from hovering over the ZXC keys, which happened with Undertale and Deltarune as well, not a big deal. But I found a neat solution. I happen to own a Sitting Cutie *Woobat* Pokémon plush, which can fit in your hand, so, I decided, to, hold Woobat with my left free ring finger, pinky, and thumb, while playing the game still with my left pointer and middle fingers, which actually _did_ work in easing the pain! So I kept holding on. The whole rest of the game, my good friend Woobat was there, every moment, every encounter, every twist, every death, supporting me, (Er... Well... Supporting my _hand_ at least). This one goes out to my own personal Sentinel of Silence.

i have to say, this being the first "new" track most players (including me) will hear when playing the game again after 5 OR SO YEARS, its pretty satisfying.
It's winter where I live right now. Putting this song on my headphone and walking through the woods during a gentle snowfall is as awesome as you would think it would be :)
The song of the fetch quest sequence. Man, by far my favorite part of this game was realizing what was going on once I accidentally gave the hot coffee to the npc
My god, the moment I heard the song... The same song I've listened to many years ago in that snowdin trailer. The wait was worth it. Thank you Undertale Yellow Team.
easily my favourite track, genuinely such a beautiful composition, and such tasteful framing of the snowdin melody from the original game. this one genuinely had me pausing to appreciate it, not sure if it's nostalgia that had this one get me so much, but i love it.
The new Ruins theme was about apprehension. Undertale Yellow is a new experience, something familiar but nonetheless unknown to us. We do not know what to predict. The new Snowdin Forest theme is about nostalgia and hope. Yes, this experience is new, but it is still identifiably Undertale. We've returned to a world we love dearly. It is in a new form, but it is still the same world. This song encapsulates that perfectly. Enormous props to MasterSwordRemix for their work.
When I first heard this track, I was like... "Where is the part that's based on Snowy?" But it's its own thing with only small parts based on the melody here and there, and that's awesome too.
Plus, this version has a lot more complex chords than the original. All the major 7ths, 9ths and Lydian 11ths sprinkled into this version did not go unappreciated.
i adore this theme i said it before but it made me cry when i first stepped out because it's FINALLY HERE AND UTY IS FINALLY HERE AND I'M SO HAPPY AND- good job. bravo. kudos to everyone on the dev team.
This one was so calming and relaxing… In the original game the Snowdin motif is really overplayed so I appreciated how this captured the spirit of the area with a more varied composition.
So, Snowy has always felt "lonelier" than the rest of the Undertale soundtrack But this ? This isn't loneliness. This is emptiness. This music feels empty, which makes it both creepier and calmer than Snowy, somehow. Good job on this !

The only soundtrack that I'll comment on. After the first phase of final boss on genocide, my perception on this ost changed entirely. it's just so tragic to me
Spoilers for geno route below It feels like in this moment, seeing into Martlet’s past, is the first time that clover in the route, actually questions themselves. Whether what they’re doing is right, attacking an innocent person, for the sake of completion, and satisfaction in their revenge. As though they’re saying here, to themselves; Is this really justice…?
I loved how we got to explore the lower parts of Snowdin, I always wondered what's down there. The track itself is also just really nice, I love it to bits, maybe even more than Snowy from the original Undertale. It's such a relaxing theme.
Hearing this made me realize it’s not just something that’s on its way, it’s finally here, it’s real and it’s in my hands and my joy and emotion during this song, slowly walking through the snowy forest and being so, so happy.

The reason i play video games is for moments where a community is brought together, for moments that wont leave you for a long time, for moments that make you tear up, for every memory made along the way, for the satisfaction of climbing that metaphorocal, or literal mountain, for the moments where you cry and for the moments that put a smile on your face. Hearing this track, it makes me feel calm, peaceful, at ease. Like a leisurely stroll through a pine forest on a winter's day. Not a soul in sight, just you, the trees, and the snow. Kinda comforting in a way.
This was definitely one of my favorite songs when playing through for the first time. On one hand, like a lot of people have said, it's the first new song for people who had played the demo so many years ago - literally encompasses a breath of fresh, cold air. And I also just find it to be really comforting, it's a very pretty song, and a great introduction to the rest of the game. Hearing it reminded me of how it felt to hear Snowy in Undertale so many years ago, and getting to feel like I was playing undertale for the first time again was such an amazing feeling for me
y'know coming back after finishing all routes in this game. hearing this track after following this game in its development for years has felt so wonderful and ecstatic and made me knew what i was in treat for. I feel like for the longest time, this game has reignited my love and experience for undertale again, it is so wonderful. I truly feel like there won't be any other full-fledged fangame like undertale yellow that can capture the same charm and feeling that it did like undertale or at least like being a true prequel to it, anyway but who knows really, I just really love this game so much man, it is worth the wait. This music made me tears up because how it felt nostalgic somehow. It made me remebered those happy childhood times during winter. It's cold, the whole sky is grey. But it sure is beautifull. Every tree is fluffy white, it's light snow, house is decorated and you mesmerised looking at the window. And holidays are near. Felt like a fable. You know how they say "don't cry because it's gone, but smile because it happened". Personally I hate this proverb, because when I remember something like that, it's always hurt that it's in past now. Undertale, you making me cry like a child and I love you for it 💛
I am commenting on every single song of the Undertale Yellow Soundtrack playlist! (Read this knowing I discovered, explored and played Deltarune (in 2021) before Undertale (in 2022), which to the current day of this comment I have only watched the entirety of, but not actually played. Hence why I assume that I like Deltarune more than Undertale, because it was personal and... new, in a way, but can still feel what I would call a "fake" nostalgia from Undertale despite that). I played Undertale Yellow one time. My playthrough went across from 10/12/2023 to 26/12/2023, during a total of 15-16 days. I played it, aimed for the best, and got True Pacifist. When I finish it, I tell Flowey to wait. And get off the computer for the day. Some days pass by, and I finally start watching a True Pacifist route on YT. Some days pass by again, and I gain the courage to watch the not-so-dark path, and then the truly dark path. Some time passes once again, and I finally watch the end offered by Flawed Pacifist. Snowed in, Clover starts picking up the pace, as they notice a new chapter of their trip shaping up on the horizon... On to a recognizable area, you don't even feel the need to run your way too forward, you just want to appreciate such a calm song at its slow and melancholic pace. This being the "lower grounds" of Snowdin (a place that can actually be seen in Undertale, in the upper part of Snowdin, as a quite deserted place, with only one house that can be seen in the distance, if I remember correctly), it seems convenient that it isn't as much populated as the main Snowdin, a place where there is an actual city and everything (despite having the resort and its own population of monsters). I'd assume that it is more abandoned because the ground level of the snow keeps increasing over the years, forcing the monsters to move up, and thus being why it is so empty by the time of Undertale. I haven't clarified this yet, but I'm a SUCKER for piano songs. Piano is by far my favourite instrument to hear (and, I wished, to play), whether it is making an appearance in an Electro Swing song (one of my favourite music genres, which will gain some representation down the road :) or composing a chill, melancholic tune like this one (knowing this, it must be no surprise that "My Castle Town" is my favourite Deltarune track). When I first exited the Dark Ruins, and that white flash slowly faded away, giving the first note of "Snowfall", I just stood in place, waiting for the next note. After that I find myself laying back on my chair, bathing on the chills offered by this wonderfully produced piece. I could see myself falling asleep to this, which is strange for a person that needs mostly silence to sleep like me. It's a bit unfortunate that there couldn't be many scenario changes in Snowdin, mainly because it was already touched in Undertale. But even then, the Devs did what they could, like the river that goes by in the puzzle bridge, some of the edges of the land being white frozen solid along with the leafless trees on top, the astounding landscape views of the resort, and, of course, the constant snow falling, something that I really think was missing in Undertale, glad UTY took the opportunity ;) On a related note, I love the shader that is applied to Clover once they enter Snowdin. It changes really little on them, it makes their skin just a bit paler and clothes lighter. Just a neat detail that, now that I think about it, might be visible on the whole area and characters? I don't remember quite well honestly. As much of a treat I'm having listening to this stellar track, it's probably time to wrap this one up. I'm very excited to write about all regarding Snowdin, even though there aren't silly skeletons nearby to talk to and have fun with. However, I sense that won't be such a problem, the guys around these parts are sure to delight anyone's day, whether that be through smart and elaborated puzzles or overpriced and innovative products ;). This part was joyful all throughout, it filled me with such happiness, I can only recall good memories from it, and I hope to relieve some of them with these amazing soundtracks and overcomplicated descriptions! (12/02/2024)

This one is one of my favorite tracks in Undertale Yellow. It is so nostalgic, and even little bit sad. The time, when i was playing original Undertale... Every time I listen to this track, tears involuntarily well up in my eyes. This is so beautiful...

Limited to say the least... Already to the honeydew inn, gonna go to sleep for now but I'm super exited to continue on!
I haven't played the game myself (and instead resorted to watching Merg play the game), but the way I automatically relaxed hearing this song was a nice experience now it's come to the point where I want to hunt for sheet music...
This is my favorite track! I keep humming this to myself all the time. In fact, I listen through the OST playlist for this song. If I have time, I may transcribe this and learn to play it on the piano.

But even then, the Devs did what they could, like the river that goes by in the puzzle bridge, some of the edges of the land being white frozen solid along with the leafless trees on top, the astounding landscape views of the resort, and, of course, the constant snow falling, something that I really think was missing in Undertale, glad UTY took the opportunity ;)
On a related note, I love the shader that is applied to Clover once they enter Snowdin.
This part was joyful all throughout, it filled me with such happiness, I can only recall good memories from it, and I hope to relieve some of them with these amazing soundtracks and overcomplicated descriptions!

this song, for me, exemplifies perfectly why i love undertale yellow : it, along whith the whole area, is so similar to undertale and yet is its own entity. the whole game is fammiliar but yet so different, i love how undertale yellow dosent rehash old caracters like sans
In my opinion this is the best area theme solely because it feels the most... adventurous? Idk, it feels like the world is truly widening up with this piece.

beautiful
fitting with your profile. this song has omori vibes.
Christmas, just a week away.
Ok, uhm, I’ll be honest, Waking up to the beginning of this in a cold room is absolutely beautiful
I was watching a livestream of undertale yellow when I learnt my childhood music teacher had passed away. Listening to this song reminds me of that moment... she was an amazing teacher. Rest in peace.
I can't tell if the random person in a clearing with trees on all sides talking about disappearing monsters was something FUN or not...
It was
this is so beautiful, i cant put it into words man
just realised that this song lasts for the exact same amount of time as snowy from the original undertale does, just thought that was a cool detail
and once again it sets in that this game is finally out and I literally leaned back in my chair and had to take a second to process that.
good song.
This is hands down my favorite song in the entire game. It just makes me feel so warm and cozy. It feels so nostalgic and lovely. This feels like a cozy little town at night under the stars, a place you could just stay forever.
A breath of fresh air in several ways. Fits the current winter season as well.
Absolutely beautiful
oh hey look who i found
@@super13343 lol
@@Ms.Toriel i remember seeing you on the undertale bits and pieces soundtrack
throws up everywhere /overwhelmingly positive this is my favourite uty ost ever the first time i heard it i started melting thank you for this it's so so amazing
I still remember how emotional I got when this track hit.
Just, in my mind, it all just felt…
“Oh my gosh… I’m experiencing Undertale again…”
The wave of nostalgia this track gave me is something truly special and I’ll never forget it.
I love how its just calm slow calming piano until the little nostalgic snowdin theme plays
rating every UTY song like that one guy for vision crew: ACTUAL 10/10, my favorite song in the ost, very nostalgic and reminds me of when i was first looking at undertale stuffs as an 11 y/o
sounds like something I'd hear in stardew, which is exactly why it's so nice, because it feels so relaxing just listening to it
sounds like itd play in the mines during the icey floors!
When this played, I knew I was playing a fan game like no other
I don't know why, but I love the melody from 1:11 to 1:20 so much.
its amazing because, even though i've never played undertale, the snowdin theme just hits so hard, and hearing this theme is just wonderful
This one is one of my favorite tracks in Undertale Yellow. It is so nostalgic, and even little bit sad. The time, when i was playing original Undertale...
Every time I listen to this track, tears involuntarily well up in my eyes. This is so beautiful...
I had to look this one up after getting through snowdin and stopping at the resort, what a beautiful rendition 💛
In the glory days of Undertale, the fangames weren't much, just a bunch of AUs, but now.......
now is something else.........
Literally the only full released Undertale fangame
cant believe its been almost a year since ive played such a good undertale fangame
I just found out this game was free today, and using the laptop my bf gave me over Christmas, I'm actually able to play it, albeit kinda a pain to install considering my computer knowledge is... Limited to say the least...
Already to the honeydew inn, gonna go to sleep for now but I'm super exited to continue on!
Why do I feel like this song is so underrated?
it was so cool backtracking and seeing dalv move out into snowdin
Perfect music for Christmas tbh
Howdy, I'm CAELUM. CAELUM the COMMENTER. I'm going to list where these songs might fit in UNDERTALE. This one is…
Snowy
When listening to this song, I keep on thinking that all my old friends will forget me, and when I graduate high school, all my friends will be gone.
Listening to this in the Finnish winter cold (-20 Celsius) hits different
i cried when i heard this after the pacifist route dude
My favorite song, makes me wanna sleep fr. (I literally almost sleeping, just because listening to this song atc the second area.)
Absolutely love this one
One cup of Joe for the Boss - extra caffeinated!
😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
This is without a doubt my 2nd favorite area theme in this game, right behind meltdown.
Oh yeah it has been one month already, right?
Can i cry hearing this now?
I haven't played the game myself (and instead resorted to watching Merg play the game), but the way I automatically relaxed hearing this song was a nice experience
now it's come to the point where I want to hunt for sheet music...
this sounds like a depressing version of snowy
Not necessarily depressing, but... Lonelier
Been waiting for this for so... so... so long...
Question: Is it wrong that I actually prefer _this_ version of Snowdin’s theme over the original?
no, you're right, this one's really better.
JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS
appena è partita la parte che riprende snowdin mi stavo per mettere a piangere
This is my favorite track! I keep humming this to myself all the time. In fact, I listen through the OST playlist for this song. If I have time, I may transcribe this and learn to play it on the piano.
this song sounds like snowy combined with "christmas time is here"
if c418 composed snowy instead of toby
Original Snowdin and Yellow Snowdin are different locations, because you can meet different monsters and chapacters here. Also Original Snowdin and Yellow snowdin has different russian translates.
Original Snowdin Translate - Снежнеград
Yellow Snowdin Translate - Заснежье
Don't freeze in here!... Or get stuck to a poll... Or get lost without a map... Or lose your mitten...
Right in time for the holidays (:
Nice and calming piano track. :p
Snowdin song in Undertale: Snowy: Calm and upbeat. Makes me think of those nice winter days, just having fun, playing in the snow. The other song, Snowdin Town, makes me feel the same way.
Snowdin song in Undertale Yellow: Snowfall: Calm and upbeat. Makes me think of those nice winter days, just having fun, playing in the snow. The other song, snow, f*cking haunts me.
"So happy I found you!
I found you.
(face melts into a massive photorealistic eyeball)
I F O U N D Y O U . "
Song that might play when you have nothing else better to do and jjst starts scrolling on youtube at 3 in the morning:
💀 bro its 2 am
After finishing the game, listening to this song makes me cry idk why
This had me on the first fucking note.
After beating every ending, this song haunts me in a good way, and a bad way.
Genuienly love this track in the genocide .5x speed.
