    FUN FACT.
    NYC fire hydrants used to be made in Rotherham Soutth Yorkshire. UK (Near me)
    Rotherham United FC's stadium is called New York stadium because its built in the area where the hydrants were made..

    Great interview. My time writing was 1974 to 79. The BMT's. Brighton lines in Brooklyn the M and the D. Lay ups were coney island yard and the express tracks Between Sheepshead bay station and Kingshighway station. Weekends. Climbing the embankment next to kelly park and just killing those M's. The story where the Dominican kids attacked, is 174 Yard on the C line.
    It's where the C train relays(in-and-out) at 168 north of station to go back to Brooklyn.
    The C train is not a 24-hour line. So the trains lay-up early and no one is down there for many hours until AM rush.
    The incident at 63rd where kids were making noise, is now the Q 2nd Avenue line. Back then it was a layup track.

    That Dominican gang he was talking about were the Ball Busters out of Washington Heights. Some of those guys went on to become the Wild Cowboys. Big time crew that had the whole uptown on lock at one time during the crack era.

    • @RD-gu3qp
      @RD-gu3qp Рік тому

      No the ball buster were a different group that ran the #1 tunnel 135th street 145 st in the early '80s by 1985 they moved on these guys FK we're uptown further and in the A train tunnel on 175th street in the mid to late 80s
      Both groups became involved with the drug game an possibly worked together at that point but they are different crews
      FK actually had writers DISCO ZOOK an a bunch more
      The ballbusters only had like one are two graffiti writers like BABYROC

    Pretty cool interview! Always nice to hear someone else's life story. 70's-80's graffiti is pretty iconic. I definitely remember during the mid-70's/early 80's when I was little, riding the subway in Queens, often going on mini adventures with my grandma & the trains were completely covered in graffiti. I was too young to recall any specific lettering or designs, but I do remember always looking forward to riding those trains & looking for rats on the tracks too, and loving every minute of it. LOL! 🤣Great memories! Thanks for another interesting experience! 👍

It's great to see and hear from the actual person behind the Graff. I always thought the Revs diaries were cool. Mostly because he was in almost every tunnel. And because not everyone would be able to read it. That kind of made it unique to me. I remember reading Revz saying he wanted to put a book together with all the entries with the pages made out of metal. Not sure if he was chain pulling or serious but I just thought it was cool. I could see how some might not like it though...waste of paint lol...all the best to you and keep the stories coming!🤪🙈🙏💪

    The similarities of his entry into graff is the exact same as me..
    The main difference been he was in the holy grail of graff spots, NYC and I was in small town in the UK.
    I did become king of said small town though. 😆 🤣
    Not that it was hard been the only one hiting spots.
