The NVG option is good for making it less bright and turns off heartrate so the green light doesn't give you away. How most NVGs work, you can't look at the watch without adjusting focus, so you look around the tube to see the time. It is helpful for reducing your light signature.
Can you convert one edition to another (by downloading new firmware or adding missing apps?)? Like Tactical to Surf or vice versa? (like when I could buy Tactical second hand, but would like Surf features for wind and wave information?)
Great video. Does the stander option come with the surfing option in the setting? I surf and do shore angling and it would be great to know the tides and more from my watch. Aslo, how does it compare to the fenix 6 or 7 Thanks
Honestly, unless you are running some super Gucci NVGs (which most of us aren't), the night vision feature is sort of a gimmick. You would need to adjust your focus super close, which, if we are speaking tactically, isn't ever what you want to do. A better solution would be to have a setting where the screen is completely off, with a button that could flash it on a low-light setting. That way, you aren't adjusting your NVGs at all.

I have the Bell's Beach and I can get the "Tactical" features, aside from NV mode and kill switch, so Im guessing you can get those under Activities on the basic models.
Anyone have experience with the 2 vs 2s sizing? I've not been able to find any footage of the same human wearing both. I'd like something less bulky than my Instinct 1, but not sure if it'd look silly or completely natural on the wrist.

Great point I wasn't aware of that thank you
Thanks for this, I was looking diff between normal and camo, now I know its just a color thing.
Your welcome:)
Super helpful breakdown as I’m just starting to shop for a new fitness watch.
Glad it was helpful!, let me know what you end up getting :)
Took your advice. Wearing the standard now. Thank you for the video!
let me know what you think of it :)
@@STAGFITNESS I absolutely enjoy it.
Great video,thank you 👌👌
Thank you

its stand up really well, if i had the money for the 6or 7 I would go with them.
I did not understand the difference with the surf version. The same activities exist also in other versions. So do we get anything extra?
I dont understand also, I think diff its that surf has sea waves that doesnt come with normal one.
I have the instinct 2 solar. It was great in the beginning but now the battery lasts about 2-3 days before I have to charge it again. 😔
Sorry to hear that and how long did it take for the battery to drop?

thanks so much!
The surf edition can do anything the others can do? I mean, if i see a budget is worth it? Even if a don't surf?!
Preciate the video
thank you
Please suggest can go for 2 or 2s. Because they are in same price. Any additional features in 2 rather than 2s.
your not missing out any major features and I would go for the 2 with the larger screen
I think solar options have more features than the other like NFC or something like that?
Thank you
Can you not just download surf apps and kitesurf apps for speed etc? Not digging the surf edition colour
Apparently the apps are integrated into the watch. Hopefully this changes in the future
heyyyy i'm not the only crazy person to buy sony's wireless microphone haha!! btw you can use a $10 lavalier with it and it'll look wayyyyy less ugly
Yes need to buy that at some point :)
Hello
Some of the websites states that Garmin instinct 2 regular doesn't have a cadence feature , only the solar variant has it. What is your opinion?
What do you mean by cadence feature?
@@shannonboyd481 Hello
Cadence sensors are a must for bikers and cyclists who want to maximize workout results. These devices allow cyclists to measure energy output in the form of rotations per minute (RPM), akin to a speedometer
So the surf version has additional surf and water sports features?
I would like to know this also.
Bell's Beach here, it comes preprogrammed with those activities but I think you can get them on the 2 / 2 Solar models.
@@nicholascheadle5871 no, you cant. Only Surf has that.
@@nicholascheadle5871 is bells beach the solar one? Whats the difference solar vs without aside from the solar power
Do you have surf/kitesurf activity in instinct 2 solar?
or only surf version have that?

is the 2s good for 6" wrist?
They offered a tactical version, but with camo bracelets. Do you know a Garmin like this?
How do you mean?
@@STAGFITNESS Brazilian
I have the tactical edition
would you recommend?

its a bulky watch anyway so you would be fine with either one
Instinct 2s, non solar - can anyone share their experience?
The solar isn't required and it's still a great watch as long as an amoled screen is not your main focus.
