I recently cut my mom’s hair for the first time and her reaction left a lasting impression on me. It’s one of the most gratifying moments I’ve ever had.
Sulfur 8 grease, they even have a light one, helps with scalp issues. If he's getting welts like that he likely has a sensitive scalp that's a form of psoriasis. Products that leave build up or leave the scalp too moist (even doing things like putting a rag on wet (even wet from sweat or washing) hair and not drying it immediately) inflame the scalp and cause the welts.
I had the similar thing when I used to wave. I know we are usually told not to, but he needs to wash and style everyday/two days with a light cowash (also making sure to dry the hair immediately with a blowdryer etc). Additionally, he need to change his durag everyday, to reduce the chance of bacteria having the environment to grow. Some of us have more sensitive scalps, and need more maintenance. Good luck to the brother🌊

I’ve been cutting myself bald with clippers for 3 years now. Don’t know how I got here but even my confidence went up after seeing that cut! All I need is a full month, hopefully no bald spots and some treatment for what I’m sure is a slightly receding hairline 😂. All jokes aside that’s fire cut, great barber and great customer. Damn fam that means a lot to know that the video impacted you enough to let me know I should do it more often. I might not use this format all the time but I for sure will use it again.
You should absolutely offer this as a service. Event if a client only gets it once, you're basically showing them how to wash their waves. Barber's are a Godsend
Tangled can be managed by: combing/picking often with moisturizers (oils such as StaSoftFro, Cantu Creme (coconut oil creme best imo), or anything that hydrates 4C hair exceptionally well. The longer you go w/o maintaining, the harder it takes to untangle before it has to be trimmed or worse, cut too short. If y'all want to rock afros, you HAVE to maintain it daily. I know this guy would be able to rock a great afro only if he maintained it well. That cut was top notch until I saw flakes coming 🤦🏾♂️ He did not moisturize regularly. Waves takes TONS of work cuz he'll have to brush daily and keep his hair greased up well.
I love the feedback in this comment. Thanks for sharing and as far as his wave journey I agree it takes way more work to maintain them but I feel he doing better with that look than when he had long hair.
You gave him a wash n style this made me happy to watch as a waver. Being consistent is pretty hard when you want to have great waves and a helping hand from yo barber every now and again would be great id pay for it. Also use a plastic bag instead of just your hand next time to lay down his waves
Jojoba oil will take care of those flakes, and also not waiting weeks in between washes. Jojoba oil though is the goat at removing the flakes, even from seborrhea, it cured mines altogether. I had tried meds and shampoos from dermatologist for years but, after about two treatments with organic jojoba oil I never had that problem again. I’ve been missing you man and would like to see more content from you. You’re a good barber and this was another nice transformation. ❤
Really good video but can you keep the captions up longer? It was hard reading it all without hitting pause. You have great barbering skills and went beyond what barbers normally are willing to do.
Always great videos. A piece of wisdom to pass on to clients is that a damp scalp for long periods of time will cause dandruff. Hats, caps, and dreads will hold moisture on the scalp.
Great job…as a waver incorporate combing the hair before brushing before doing the durag and final rinse. It helps with forks connecting and fills those gaps up.
Hey Fonz, I just found your videos 2 months ago. Your content is wholesome, chill, positive, relaxing so many things. I didn’t know barbers experienced so much. And that the community is so widespread. Salutes to you from NC.
Are you in NY my guy? Been trying to find a barber that truly love they job like this. I have no problem paying you well, it's the skills and that actual care you show. Respect
Fonzz I definitely think you should add Wash and Styles as a service. That's a great idea. Especially for those who are beginners at waving. It can give them a foundation to build upon.
I’m from the UK & gotta appreciate barbers and hair stylists that treasure making sure their customers enjoy their look; I’d definitely pay for this service and it’s making me wanna get 360 waves fosho !

The Neistat brothers influenced me so much but you already knew that lol. This video was just me testing the water to see how people would react to it. It’s looking good so far.
YoFonz you should definitely add a apple cider vinegar and water treatment to your barbering, it helps with dandruff a lot speaking from experience, moisturize the scalp with it just like a wash and style for 20 minutes then do the wash and conditioner, helps a bunch!
No way!!!! Do you rock waves yourself? If so I have to see this process done. Then again I guess give it a try and record the whole process. Either way this comment is hella helpful. Thank you for passing on the info.
@@YoFonzzI tried waves and it wasn’t for me lol but I do this at least once a week with a tea tree & jojoba oil treatment on my second wash day it helps with the dandruff so much
The relaxation after the hot towel comes off is great to see. Men are usually taught they're not allowed enjoyable experiences like this and it needs to change, everyone needs regular pampering
Sometimes I be wanting my waves back but my hair so long at this point and the maintenance is too OD for my lifestyle right now. Braids or a fro is a smoother vibe for me
This is the only video that I have not watched in 2x speed & just in normal speed in quite a bit of time just to absorb the ambiance created by the classical music & to focus on not missing out on reading the captions for what you would usually just do voiceovers as- impeccable way to keep the audience zoned in… until the caption stopped & I’m back to 2x speed, so I only played it regular speed for the first 2 mins 😂 That guy had the look of he really couldn’t believe his waves looked good!
🤣 dawg I did that knowing it would slow you down bro. P.S. Renzo is going crazy with his new clippers right now. It sounds like a freaking barbershop in my house 😆💈
Dude went from farm fresh to just FRESH. Plus he's a hairy little nugget so he reminds me of my baby brother. Made me smile when he was so thrilled by both the initial cut and follow up care.
Great job, you really killed it with the cut. Also props to the client for keeping up with the daily process. If you were to introduce that service, it would have to be a premium/ special that would have to be priced on the higher side. It seems to take a lot of time and effort but the results are great. You just dont want that to encroach your normal revenue generating methods and take away from them.
For folks looking to grow a beard, my best advice is to NEVER touch your beard with your hands. Refuse the urge to do so or you will get little tangled spots like his before picture. I stopped touching my face for about 3 months straight and the beard finally normalized.
1st time I’ve seen such! Did you invent this technique? How long was the service? I would imagine men who want to have their waves treated would invest, in the service, starting at $100. Excellent!

Always great videos. A piece of wisdom to pass on to clients is that a damp scalp for long periods of time will cause dandruff. Hats, caps, and dreads will hold moisture on the scalp.
Thanks for sharing that wisdom
Great job…as a waver incorporate combing the hair before brushing before doing the durag and final rinse. It helps with forks connecting and fills those gaps up.
One day I’ll add that for sure
Hey Fonz, I just found your videos 2 months ago. Your content is wholesome, chill, positive, relaxing so many things. I didn’t know barbers experienced so much. And that the community is so widespread. Salutes to you from NC.
Are you in NY my guy? Been trying to find a barber that truly love they job like this. I have no problem paying you well, it's the skills and that actual care you show.
Respect
Fonz ur last video was insane bro keep putting out the great content!
Thanks fam I appreciate u
Fonzz I definitely think you should add Wash and Styles as a service. That's a great idea. Especially for those who are beginners at waving. It can give them a foundation to build upon.
I agree Akeem, I feel that although there are plenty of people that like the ideas of having waves but need to be shown how to go for it.
@@YoFonzz Great cuts to btw. 💯
Bro had me emotionally attached to this haircut. Good video for sure lmao
That second track when I was doing his beard got me holding back a few tears not going to lie.
I’m from the UK & gotta appreciate barbers and hair stylists that treasure making sure their customers enjoy their look; I’d definitely pay for this service and it’s making me wanna get 360 waves fosho !
Yes you should offer this as a service. Your work is phenomenal.
Yo!!! Mad props to you!!! This is a barber who understands the hair, the products and the process/application there of!!! Much respect!
Thank you for appreciating my work 🙏🏼
So should I add the service or nah? Is it worth it?
Only if it’s worth it to you.
Add the service, my boy. And keep the “Interstellar” music vibes in the vids from here out! 😇😇
Not for a 100. Maybe 250 that look like it take way too long
@@soliloquylove2115 Well said that's the only thing that matters.
I've been watching your videos for a couple of months now, you're so entertaining dude! And mad talented with your craft! Hope the success continues for you! 😊🔥🔥
Man it refreshing to see comments like yours. Thanks you for being apart of my journey 🙏🏼
WOW! I'm impressed... You are a true artist. Your process is so therapeutic to watch. I'm a female and wish ALL stylist would treat and offer the service you provide your customers!! 💖🔥
The music dead-ass is like listenting to Disney at a Barber Imao
Im tryna here this kinda music in every barbershop now ngl 😅
Damn your video making skills are insane. Congrats you made a whole new barbering genre of videos imo. Van neistat of barber videos
The Neistat brothers influenced me so much but you already knew that lol. This video was just me testing the water to see how people would react to it. It’s looking good so far.
Why is it that people that do this kind of skilled craftsmanship with hair are always FAR AWAY FROM ME?!
Beautiful.
It's amazing what a haircut can do for ya soul! Have ya looking and feeling like a new man outchea 💪🏾 Respect the craft bro!
"Let's not talk about it" he know he paying an arm and a leg for that cut 😭
U saw I didn’t have a answer for him at the end lol
this transformation is beautiful, seeing the before and after… this is art and fonz keeps delivering
I’ll tell you what Sonny…. The Art is the only reason I keep making videos. Without it I’m done.
@@YoFonzz barbers are essential workers bc. Getting a haircut could boost your mental health fr
Men are usually taught they're not allowed enjoyable experiences like this and it needs to change, everyone needs regular pampering
omg the instant glow up after the first cut was crazy!! He looks soooo fine
That warm towel treatment is under appreciated these days
Sometimes I be wanting my waves back but my hair so long at this point and the maintenance is too OD for my lifestyle right now. Braids or a fro is a smoother vibe for me
I feel you fam Im on the Fro vibes too. Sometimes I’ll go for the two strand twist to switch it up but I will never go back to waves.
This is the only video that I have not watched in 2x speed & just in normal speed in quite a bit of time just to absorb the ambiance created by the classical music & to focus on not missing out on reading the captions for what you would usually just do voiceovers as- impeccable way to keep the audience zoned in… until the caption stopped & I’m back to 2x speed, so I only played it regular speed for the first 2 mins 😂
That guy had the look of he really couldn’t believe his waves looked good!
Excellent!
Love the music by the way. A breath of fresh air from the constant hip hop beats in other people's videos.
Loved this!! You really gave this customer and experience! He will never forget this or you. Yes, you definitely should add this service! Star stellarrrrr!!!
Fire video! Question what did you use to detangle the beard at 2:57 ? I need one of those! My beard is the same way.
Same that’s what I’m looking for
This brought me to another place. Excellent work. Hopefully he starts to take pride in his grooming after this.
This is such a theatrical video!
Dabbling into ASMR, mic on the forearm, nice!
⛄
It’s something I always wanted to do but sprinkle a little my own style to it. Thanks 🙏🏼
I haven’t been to a barbershop in over 30 years. I cut my own hair and trim my beard every 3 or 4 days. I’ve saved thousands of dollars over the years, but; I would pay this guy. 💯
9 out of 10 cut. Crazy transformation. Bro saved his life
that cut is worth at least 200$
You see the vision.
He sure does
Love your videos want a shout out
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you 😃 still want shout out though
This was absolutely awesome ! Thank you for bringing some smile and light to the man ❤
Thanks Rob, seeing him smile and happy made it so much more rewarding than the video itself.
Thanks Rob, seeing him smile and happy made it so much more rewarding than the video itself.
Man it is awesome to see your growth right before my eyes. Many blessings to you and you family.
Went from: “Can I get a place to stay
to: “Here’s the key to my condo”
Nothing like a fresh cut
A Master at work a modern day Picasso. Perfecting his craft. I use to watch you 4 years ago glad to see your progress brother.
Self care is so beautiful, glad men are doing this now ❤️
Absolutely beautiful seeing you bring dude back to life.
Wow!!
He looks so handsome. His great features were hidden under his hair.
You did a great job. I hope he knows how good looking he is. You helped that shine through.
Wow! What a difference! This guy now looks clean, fresh, and like a real gent! Congrats!
He went from Dr. Umar Johnson to B2k Raz B . Great work ❤
