    You just saved me $1,400.00! I did the whole thing in under two hours. Taken my time and double checking everything!
    I did go out and buy a smaller Dewalt impact wrench. I highly recommend using a smaller Impact wrench than the big boy! You don't want to over-tighten the bolts, that is where the torque wrench comes into play! The new impact wrench and parts cost me $300.00 to replace the motor mounts!

    As a quality engineer, it’s nice to see someone using a torque wrench in the most correct manner. Meaning you creep SLOWLY to your target torque value until it goes green. Thank you 😊

    Great tutorial! Thanks for making this video. My Altima has been shaking like crazy for months due to torn engine mount and torque. I was quoted around $600 for this job (parts and labor). I follow your instructions and it took me about 2 hours to do on my 07 Altima and spend only about $100 on parts and tools. I did purchase the nano socket (Amazon) and a low profile ratcheting wrench (Harbor Freight). No way to get to the engine mount torque out without those tools.

    Well done video! I have done this job once, pretty close to what you did, and need to do it again. Aftermarket parts do not last as long as OEM. 245,000 miles and counting. If you have this car, replace the cvt fluid OFTEN. I did mine about 15,000 miles ago, and it is already looking gritty. Time for another fluid/filter change.

      Factory parts are usually best, but age and cost start to become a factor and at that point aftermarket is usually the best option. I try to go with a brand name I recognize, or use parts that don't have a high return rate on Rock Auto (parts marked with a heart).

    I have a 06 Altima v6 250k miles. It has developed a vibration when you accelerate from 70mph range then stops when you let off accelerator. Tire are new and rotated. Had an alignment with a new tie rod installed but still have vibration. I’m leaning toward motor mounts. You sound like you have experience with these cars. What is your opinion?

      My girl has an 08 Altima with the 2.5 with bad mounts on passenger side. Believe called torque mount. But my experience is it only vibrates in lower rpms. Probably sub 1800 rpm. We have a 6spd manual and the vibration isnt there above 43-45 mph and that's being in 6th gear so at that speed I would just use 5th and no issue till about 37 !and under. Could be different speeds with an automatic but my guess is 70 is out of the question

      You will want to fix the pcv immediately...we didnt catch it right away and caused other problems like the valve cover gasket to leak all the way around. Leaking tons of oil.... Believe its caused by a buildup of pressure but I'm no ASE certified mechanic. You can easily test the pcv valve yourself. Also if u shake it and it raddles. Again this is just my experience I'm sure the mechanic on here knows way more then me.

    i do see it moving on the video. My 2016 same mount moves like that but, it looks like it is designed to move like that. Can you do one on a newer vehicle like a 2016 or is it the same as as 2007?. When i go over a bump it feels like engine is going to fall out. Does a 2016 Altima have the 2 mounts like this one does on the top right? Thank you for being so thorough, After watching this again, now I know that the right hand engine mount is bad on mine. However I do not recall seeing the right hand engine mount torque rod right next to it

    My 08 Altima shakes when put into reverse. Any ideas want that could be?

  • @gioo619

    So even just one broken or bad engine mount can cause engine to shake when stopping? Because that is what happening with my 2011 Nissan altima. If you answer thank you in advance

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  6 років тому +2

      Yes it can. When one engine mount goes bad it puts extra stress on the remaining mounts also.

  • @dallaspilotcar9293

    It looks like you tightened all of those lower mount bolts to same torque. I thought they were 32 ft, 30 ft and 76 ft pounds? Maybe that is just on the 2016 Altima

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  5 років тому +1

      The specs is used are for a 2007 Altima according to the service information I have access to. The 2016 is a newer body style and most likely has sightly different torque specs.

    Hey BigDog,I just put big wheels and tires on my civic it rides fine but the back wheels are chambered slitly inward now,is this ok and normal (safe) when putting bigger wheels on?..

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  6 років тому +1

      Can't tell without seeing it, but there is a good chance the old wheels were like that too and it wasn't noticeable until you put the larger ones on.

    The large mount/isolator was obviously bad and it will transfer a lot of vibration into the car, enough to blur out images in the rear view mirror. It could also make thump noises when hitting bumps. Once the top rubber pad is touching the metal it's a sure sign that it's done.

      Large speakers can also blur out images in the rear view mirror too! ;)

      @@BigDog50001 After replacing my mount yesterday I discovered that this car's rear view seems more susceptible to vibration than some, and the stock sound system is enough. I thought I might have a bad suspension bushing or something because I was getting some thumping from the front going over bumps, but that completely vanished after replacing the mount.
