How to Calculate MTPA Parameters for All Votol Electric Vehicle Ecus
How to Calculate MTPA Parameters for all electric vehicle Ecu, for example here is the Votol ecu
after determining rated speed
We calculate (Kv)
Kv=rated speed/vol
Here are some formulas to estimate MTPA based on KV:
1. Simple formula:
MTPA ≈ (KV / 60) * (Supply voltage)
For example:
BLDC motor has KV = 1000, supply voltage = 12V
MTPA ≈ (1000 / 60) * 12 ≈ 20A
2. Advanced formula:
MTPA ≈ (KV / 60) * (Supply voltage) * (Number of poles) * (Performance)
For example:
BLDC motor has KV = 1000, supply voltage = 12V, number of poles = 12, efficiency = 80%
MTPA ≈ (1000 / 60) * 12 * 12 * 0.8 ≈ 28.8A
3. Torque-based formula:
MTPA ≈ (Maximum Torque) / (Supply Voltage * Performance)
For example:
BLDC motor has maximum torque = 0.5 Nm, supply voltage = 12V, efficiency = 80%
MTPA ≈ 0.5 / (12 * 0.8) ≈ 5.2A
It should be noted that:
These formulas are estimates only and may not be accurate for all BLDC motors.
The accuracy of these formulas depends on the quality of input data (KV, supply voltage, number of poles, efficiency, maximum torque).
Simulation or experimental methods should be used to calculate MTPA more accurately.

@@VINOClub I hope the one who try to understand e-bike, should take some time learning basic of eletric motor, so we can have more understanding the concept used at votol like fluke weakening. First time I used the basic app from votol, this “MTPA” use term “flux weakening compensation”. So many terms are wrong at the original app.
At last someone Who tries to get the most performace with the best efficiency in mind.
Votol users in general are being abandoned by manufacturers and sellers, who provide very little usability, and even wrong definitions in the software. Those who understand it turn it into a job , I think it's time everyone can play with this thing instead of being played by it, lol 🤣
@@VINOClub we are in the same spot. As votol user, is always a test a error, test again an so on. Documentation is very poor.

@@hamitllerena3565 Play with Votol and you will be able to play all other ecu types, they are almost the same. The bottom of the my website where I put all the basic definitions to play it, you can translate it into your language 😂

Can i know what is the purpose of this field? Does it improve torque or top speed of motor? or is it just for stabilising the motor? thank you. your video are extremely helpful and im grateful to your brotherman.
It is a parameter for the ecu to adjust to help us have speed without losing too much torque. It may not have much effect but it will help optimize power consumption.

@@Dev4663t You can combine it with increasing KP to achieve the desired starting torque level
@@VINOClub yea im tryong to strike a balance pf good start torque with a balance top speed for a road bike.

Hi, i tried to calculate MTPA for qs165 v1 motor but all the formulas calculate something strange.
Kv 6000/60=100
Mtpa (100/60)*polepair(7)*efficiency (0.93)*voltage (60) = 651
A small note is that most of the formulas on this UA-cam channel are instructions for hub motors. For mid, the rpm formula must be converted at about 4:1, for example: mid 4000~ hub 1000rpm,

Nếu đồng hồ lấy tín hiệu từ bms votol thì bác vào trang 3 có phần chỉnh hệ số tốc độ tăng giảm nó để kiểm tra nhé, dĩ nhiên số cặp cực phải được xác định đúng ( có clip về cách tìm số cặp cực ko tháo xe bạn tìm lại nhé )
Hoặc cứ chỉnh hệ số ko cần quan tâm cặp cực cũng đc
