DISCLAIMER: I concede that these probably aren’t the 10 fastest yellow cards of all time, there’s almost certainly faster yellow cards out there, but these were the fastest I could come across - if you have footage of a yellow card in the same time frame, let me know and I’ll include it in a future video!
Johann du Toit taking a man out in the air comes to mind. Stormers vs Sharks in 2020. I think it was straight from kick off and within like 7 secs
@@jasonparsons lol oops 😂😂😂
Well you're going to have to do a fastest red card video now...
Some of these are absolutely shocking how they weren’t given red cards
Agreed. The first one is classic from those brothers.
Pretty sure the Ulster one was cited after the game and he got a ban. Should have been red.
The speed to make these fouls surely requires a high degree of danger
I didn't watch that Lions Springboks series but only getting a yellow for fingers to the eye seems like getting a $500 fine for murder
I receive blindness for my entire life
I offer you a 500£ fine😑
How burger didn't get a red card for clear and obvious eye-gouging is beyond me... Cowardly. Could have blinded him for life.
At least its behind you now any 😉
An indication of the nature of the man. Atrocious.
Same with the very first one, should been red
@@darraghtormey1500 😂😂😂😂 over exaggerating?
@@darraghtormey1500 All humans beings are atrocious🇿🇦
"A high shot from a Tualagi - who'd have thought it?"
I'm South African and I love Schalk, but that should have been red and a 6 month+ ban
Fair play to you mate 👏 👍
That second card? Seems like an unfortunate incident to me.
Some dude jumps you and you get carded for it.
Yeah I agree. Think the jumper caused that himself.
That's the rules of rugby. If someone jumps you have to be careful with them
That's a trash card. The playet hadn't moved the whole time, not facing the oncoming jumper and gets carded for the jumper trying to vault over him.
@@saoirsedeltufo7436 No, that was the wrong decision. The player was standing on the ground and the other player jumped into him in an extremely dangerous way. That's not a yellow card; the referee got that totally wrong.
@@David-ud9ju Ah sorry, I was thinking of the wrong yellow card. Yep you're totally right, the defender couldn't have done anything
Burgers assault on Fitzgerald merited way more sanction.
As a South African that should have been red and atleast a ban of some sort.
@@business3867 👏👏
Great clips mate - some shockers there. 😬
Anyone else think the second clip is extremely harsh? The guy jumped about 5 metres forward. Guy who got carded had eyes on the ball the whole time. Didn't see the guy till he was sat on his back.
I thought the same thing. but when you have a look at it again, you can see that he clearly steps into the "jumping zone". I just invented that word, but sounds reasonable lol maybe they should make a rule about contesting the jumping zones. so many grey areas regarding jumps. if I am waiting for the ball and some guy jump on top of me and fall, is that a card for me? bullshit.
Seen the fastest red card today Ireland vs England
The Berger yellow changed Rugby Histoey.
5:31 I think Lawrence dallaglio took his trousers off...
Just like to say that I miss JP Doyle as a ref - he was badly treated by the RFU and we have far worse refs that have taken his place
2nd one was very strange, even for the modern game/rules.. all the other were at least yellow
That first one is a no discussion, textbook red card. And a long suspension. It's an actual clothesline. The woman needs to look at mma as a career
You can add the fastest red card for England 6 nations game against Ireland 2022
In regards to the Scottish yellow card, Itoje was as dangerous if not more so leading with an elbow into a Scottish defender.
I know a French player who was banned for a year on less evidence than there was against Burger...
Burger’s gouge was an obvious red back in 2009. Ref totally bottled the right decision
The first clip from tuilagi is a straight red card
I think not falling on your head should not make your opponent get a yellow rather than a red. No control and anything could happen should get a red all the time
A few of these should have been straight red
Geeez these Hollywood's need to boot it to soccer with some some of their acting skills..
Feel that Paulo one is a bit harsh.
Most of these would be 3 week suspensions in 2022
That second one is just lucky it was only a yellow
This reminds me US crime stats
First one would be a red and a 12 year ban by today's standards.
Second one, well he was just standing there and a guy that jumped falls over him. 🤷♂️
Schalk Burger was probably the luckiest guy on this list.
Overall I'd be scared to death to attempt a tackle these days. No idea whether the runner is gonna dip, jump or dive before I make contact. Also seems the crowds enjoys cards more than tries these days.
The dips and dives only cause red cards if the tackler is already too high but not normally high enough if you went to hit a guy at shoulder height and hit his head cause he ducked a bit it's still your fault imo
One of my mates in a match at uni started, his team kicked off and he accidentally tackled the catcher in the air. Yellow after less than 10 seconds!
Also I can't believe shoulder to the head gets the same punishment as throwing the ball at someone... what a joke
Shoulder to the head should have been red. Petulantly throwing the ball into someone’s face? Yeah I’ve got no problem with that being a yellow.
@@philsswweightlossdiary2944 I wasn't saying it shouldn't have been yellow, I just find it hilarious it's in the same category here as eye gouging and shoulder to the head
82 seconds for a red today 🤣😎
Not surprising they all from the northern hemisphere and south africa
Why’s that josh
@@AndrewDavidForde I’m pretty sure it’s self explanatory
that last card i get its a big collision but in fairness the guy was running full pace at him lol like what u expect
Paulo just braced himself in my opinion.
Basically I expect him to use some arms..... Clear yellow
Make a legal tackle even?
Most of them would be a red in 2022
90% RED Today...
2nd one. I am getting sick of players jumping INTO standing players and getting penalties awarded to them. If you choose to jump where there is a player standing to collect the ball and make contact with him, that should be on you.
Between that and jumpers leading with the leg to prevent a tackle on the ground
This one I agree there are a few when players deliberately get in the way or run into people's legs. I'd say dangerous jump should be a yellow and if you r into a man who jumps it should be An automatic red regardless of how the man lands.
No, because it's a contest for the ball. You can penalise "jumping into a tackle," but you can't kill the contest for the ball.
All the other person has to do is jump as well.
I might be bias here but how is the tackle at 4:18 a card? I've seen tigers players get away with that in the past
At least 4 of not 5 of these are clear red cards.
Most of those were reds!
so just immediate unasked for opinions, i know the first card is from 6 years ago now when the rules werent as harsh so there is a possibility it would have the same outcome later in the match, but i like the ref only giving a yellow for something which seemed like a possible red card just bc of how early it is in the match. it was clearly inoccuous and showed he probs wouldnt have gone for the same thing deliberately later in the match. then the second card is bs lol the guy just jumped on top of him he wasnt being malicious or even the instigator feel like thats a bit of the shocker from the ref
I’ve always disliked the idea that a player shouldn’t get a card because it’s early in the match. Potential injuries/concussions aren’t lessened by the time at which it occurred. If one of your players can’t play by the laws, tough, you now have to deal with the consequences whether it’s the first or last 10 seconds.
Agree on the second card though, that was a bad call.
@@philsswweightlossdiary2944 ye i get where ur coming from but imo there was pretty clear mitigation w the ball carrier going down and obvious lack of intent to apply force to the head, plus it was literally the first play of the game so i feel like a yellow was apt despite the current letter of the law saying force to head = automatic red
The timing of the match has not effect on foul play.
