- At New York Comic Con 2016, we interview Joker and Harley cosplayers, as well as a few DC related characters about their thoughts about whether Joker and Harley have a healthy relationship and whether it is harder to cosplay the character because of that.

The Joker has:
-Thrown Harley out the window
-Thrown her off a table
-Manipulated her from the start, ruining her professional life as Doctor Harleen Quinzel
-Hurt her many times, physically and emotionally
-Told her she is nothing without him, to which she responded by biting his lip off and spit it in his face
Buuut, heeeeeeyyyyyyy... Those are TOTALLY relationship goals, am I right?
(That was sarcasm, if no one could tell by the way I typed it.)

-Tryed to kill her after being "too indapendent" after he died
-Throwing Harely out a high window after being "too indapendent" AGAIN cuz she tried to kill Batman as a GIFT

Think about it. In the animated series he LITERALLY shoves her out the window just because she wanted his ATTENTION. He mentally and physically abuses her in the comics and the animated series.
Suicide Squad sugarcoats the relationship, most likely to make the movie more suitable for younger audiences. They only show the romantic parts.

in their case, no they do not have a healthy relationship overall if they were but sane, but in the case were both of them are insane makes it sort of manipulation to the case were they sort of love each other
Yes they do have a good relationship because when they fight they get even closer did u even think about that people
Because joker is madly in love with violence. When joker sees Harley fighting the bats he has more control over her Because he knows Harley is only doing it for him. They are an amazing couple and joker does definitely have the ability to love.

This isn't specific enough. There are a plethera of times where their relationship is portrayed healthy and not. But the universe that I refer to is the one of Harley's origin. Btas, in which the relationship was alright, a majority of the time joker was very sweet to her and in one or two episodes he could be verbally abusive but not physically. Now referring to mad love, it's more considered to be a stand alone feature. The reason I say this is because in anything connected to this universe the events of mad love is never mentioned again. Another reason being that Paul dini had said that if he could he would go back and rewrite that part of the story. Plus in his most recent edition to this universe called harley loves joker their relationship is very fluffy so far

that's because he almost killed and abused Harley in the comics they have a abusive relationship read the comics
it's interesting seeing others' opinions on this matter. i'm very much anti-jarley to the point where it absolutely does make cosplaying harley difficult, because i get lots of "where's joker"s. but, at the same time, i love throwing the "i don't know and i don't care" and "she doesn't need him" cards in people's faces, because it's great to remind people that independence is an important thing, and that joker and harley's relationship is very very toxic and you should never want something like that. but the guy who said that they shouldn't be marginalised and instead should get support made me realise something. maybe some people are drawn to the abuse as a way of coping through their history of abuse, it fictionalises it and makes it easier to live with, maybe? but it doesn't mean that they're going to turn around and abuse their partner.
They are just characters. Harley wouldn't be Harley without. Joker and who cares I Harley "doesnt need him" she's had the choice to leave him millions of times. Joker has his new sidekick anyways, he doesn't need Harley. Punchline Is the new harley

Even in the movie it's a toxic relationship, they just romanticized it for money tbh. The comics (or the animated series where Harley came from) never softened up or romanticized the fact that the Joker literally does not care about Harley romantically. The Joker is a Nihilist, he doesn't believe the world or humans have any true meaning, so why love someone? If someone's relationship goals involves a character who literally emotionally manipulated/tortured (depending on which Harley origin story you look at) another character into being something else, kindly stay away from me.
