More like the message is never cheat on your partner. I don't think both sides were ignoring. Natsuki did try to break up with her older boyfriend but it was too late that Takumi finds out about it. Natsuki tried to break up while being in relationship with Takumi when she should of just broken up sooner. So for the message is for Natsuki. If you are going to be your partner, make sure to break up first. Don't try to have a cake and eat it too. If she still hang on to her current boyfriend while being with Takumi, that is a red flag. This Takumi can end up moving on and date a golfing lady just like in Initial D MF Ghost. Natsuki is replaceable if she cheats. I know in MF Ghost, Takumi did eventually marry a golfing lady and move to England.
