My wedding song… fun fact Darren said he was approached by a advertising agency who wanted to use this song for a chicken food advert.. they offered him an obscene amount of money, but he turned them down, he said this song means so much to so many people that he would never let it be ridiculed

My first child was born in 1999 when this song came out. It’s such a beautiful romantic song, but I associate it completely with the love a parent feels for a child. It makes me sob every time.

This song was played at least half a dozen times at my daughters 18th birthday party, many years ago. Everyone sang along every time . I smile at that memory every time I hear this beautiful song.
Despite what was said, it was Daniel who left because he hated the fame and being in the spotlight. Darren loved the band and never wanted to go solo. They decided to end it when this song was number 1!

He still sound like this. He sang with Gary Barlow in facecam during the pandemic lockdown and just sounds like this, like he ate the CD.
Yep that's Kirsten and I remember people were so surprised that she was featured in this music video. I think this came out either just before or right after the first Spiderman movie which she also starred in and was really popular at the time. There was even a debate if it was just a lookalike model but it was really her.

When I first heard them on the radio I thought at first it was Roxette. Their song “I Want You” reminded me so much of Roxette’s style music. Yeah for me if the beginning music doesn’t pull me in I find myself not liking the song doesn’t matter who the artist is I just like the music.
I associate this song with " Who wants to marry a Millionaire?" I remember Darva Conger dancing with Joe Millionaire to this song on that stupid show which aired on FOX 23 years ago.

Fun fact I saw in a interview with Darren. He said when Him and Daniel wrote this album the record people said there wasn't a number one hit in the album so they had to go back to the writing board and made this beautiful song.
What you left out was that Darren wrote the cheesiest, lamest, most cliche song that he could on purpose as a sort of "screw you" to the record company. He was shocked when they loved it.
It IS a great song though.

@@zerolsr2228 Yeah, he and Robert Conley wrote a song called Shit On The Radio for the album they made under the band name We Are Smug.
They released it one year for free on Darren's birthday. It is full of unique and fun songs. My personal favorite is Hot Tub Blues.

Robert played as a musician in the Big Night In show, and Richard can be seen in there as well, as a stage hand. Two different people though.
Fun fact. When Darren decided to leave savage garden, his co band member found out via media. Always felt sorry for him because he looked like he had no idea it was coming and was gutted
In most interviews I’ve read it was Daniel that decided to leave. Darren enjoyed the life of an artist but Daniel is much more low key.

Anton, during your reaction of a Lindsey Stirling and Amy Lee song, you mentioned that you realized that the voice is an instrument, that they can be interchangeable except that the voice is limited by someone's range. Has anyone recommended very likely the best vocalist on the planet? He's still in his 20's, his name is Dimash, and he's been honing his voice every single day since he was 5. His voice now covers 8 octaves. He sings in around 15 languages (he's still improving his pronunciation in some), in different genres (classical, opera, pop, rap, rock, etc), and plays several instruments. Almost all of his performance are masterpieces and showcase a different side of his voice and what the voice CAN DO! Please react to a relatively recent song that shows off that range, Stranger.
