Considering where the global economy is heading at the moment, not to mention that of the UK, anyone paying anything close to 150k GBP for a steel Nautilus is simply a fool. Same can be said for most of AP Royal Oaks. The one good thing this market correction is doing is getting rid of those wannabe “watch investors” that ruined this hobby for so many true enthusiasts through sheer price speculation (eg. Phil Reid)
Hahaha Name dropping 👀
Names need to be dropped… if you’ve done, then own it
Yup I'm so happy. It's the same shit with crypto and the self declared millionaires.
Dylan I’m afraid to tell you the bottom has not been reached and any sign of a rebound is what they call a dead cat bounce . As global lending rates rise and businesses slow down and the cost of essentials continue to rise the price of luxury goods will continue to do down
Yes indeed Neil - simple stuff…. Why anyone listens to watch dealers for macroeconomic views is beyond me !
Agree 💯 percent 👍
I don’t understand when he says it’s rebounding already. Who’s paying? These guys can’t be trusted at all. They obviously have inventory to sell and propping their stock before the sale. Total BS
@@taitun4life let’s do a quick check…. What lead to extra-ordinary interest in the watch market ? :
Excess time(lockdowns), increased savings & decreased costs, global government subsidies & liquidity, crypto gains, easy financial conditions generally.
Are any of those conditions still in place today ? No they are not - and many have in fact violently reversed !
So why would watches maintain the price levels and interest levels ? IMHO they should not and likely will not.
Dealer,s point of view!!!!!🤣☝️Great Recession is confirmed !
Luxurious goods will be first to crash 💥.
😂you guys Dnt panic sell.. Hold it!! Is rebounding….
( Let me clear all my stock first 🤣)
A video full of lies. The party is over son.
The prices are rebounding??? Lol! Of course you’d say that…
It must be right.. every dealer says it 😁
Why would you delete an honest opinion??
He keeps deleting mine… these lot haven’t got a clue about economics. It’s simply they have too much inventory, and they need to sell which means reduced margin, the price they buy at hasn’t changed
300k for a 5711 😂 insane
HHAHAHA.... This "little mini correction" as you mentioned, will be a freaking nightmare for you in couple of month time!!! Its just a beginning, my friend.. Now you"ll be witnessing some price movement, which exaggerates to the downside as well as it was to the upside... All bagholders will be puking their guts off... and self-lequidate. prices will be less then AD prices for long time. Good luck!! Buying watches for an investment purpose - is the same as buying a car for investment purpose.... Those freaking dealers created that "investment" narrative. Its a total lie!!
You are right!!!!!!
It’s just a beginning of the crash…..
( Great Recession is otw )
Let’s see how’s the watch price by end of ths year!!!!!!!!
Sorry, but do you know anything about watches? Where are you taking these prices from? 5711 blue was at 200k$ at its peak, now trading at 140k$- about 105k£…
Do you check the market? Do you work with other dealers? Or you take this information Beeing drunk from your head?
Some of those drops are in the 30% range. Hardly a correction for most people.
Down down down it goes
as the stockmarket and bitcoin is crashing, people just wanne find better investments... the future will show that paying 5 times the real value of a watch is not the way
A price drop is a good thing, dealers will always make their margins whatever the trend, the drop is good for collectors . Watches have reached a ridiculous price level , the best strategy now is wait and see, the more we wait the more the price will drop. If the economy goes into recession, luxury items will be the first to crash. Looking forward to seeing a 5711 at $25k.
Better deals to be had in the less hyped brands than any drop in the hyped brands (Rolex PP AP RM). The “correction” is still going on and the bottom is the list price. Consumer sentiment in the US is at an 85 year low. That will impact speculator animal spirits.
A small correction? Ok so we can all see the trend lines on chrono24. The £200k platinum Daytona continues to trend down over the last month.
So your saying that if I bought at £200k and now it's actually at about £150k that's actually a good thing?
I'd say it's bloody crap mate. And no it hasn't began to trend up not this watch your mistaken mate. unless your telling me that my eyes lie?
He has a significant conflict of interest. He/his company are best served by hyping up the price.
I am looking at then huge inventory of Rolexes and AP on most sites with consumers bracing for a recession, the number of buyers with liquidity to buy overpriced luxury items are rapidly disappearing.
We’ll see how long dealers can sit on inventory before their debts will force a fire sale.
TRY SELLING IT LOL
What’s so great about price holding up. It will dive so badly in the next 3 years, for those who held on to the belief that it’s a fad, get ready to enjoy this journey !
Thanks for your video. Can suggestions which sites we can see the real market prices for the watches? I heard Chrono24 is no longer so accurate. Which other sites would be more accurate? Thanks for your advice.
I have to say your take on why prices goes up and down in recent years is spot on. New watch buyers came and some became overnight ‘dealers’ which I have personally witnessed here in my own country at the Far East. I have never heard of them before but they just mushroom literally overnight. Unfortunately, most of them now are struggling to keep afloat with bunch of hyped watches bought at the high and are left carrying the bag hoping the ride the tide. With the current global market at a recession, I personally doubt the watch market will rebound any time soon.
You are talkin from the seller point of view ... since you say that the prices are going up, and that is a good thing ...😊
That says a lot about you ...
Haha!! Ya.. Ths is Dealer Talk….
So he shld start collecting more LUXURIES WATCH as the market is start to going up again!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@fredericktan9692 I supose that us, the watch guys, should unfolow and watch other channels then... 😊
Understanding the Rolex watch market & how a Submariner is calculated:
ua-cam.com/video/OK8JMnc1BHM/v-deo.html
watches prices went up primarily due to dealer to delaer trading to reset their inventory stock values
Wow. im watching this 2 months later and all these prices have dropped even more
38,000 pounds for a current panda daytona???????????? I'm laughing if these are the western current going prices, I'm living in Shenzhen China and dealers are begging to sell 2022 full set today card panda daytonas for 27-28k, literally begging on the floor, if these are really what the western going prices are then brace yourself for when you catch up to the chinese market, or should i say catch down
Yeah these western prices are definitely slow. HK prices are 28-29k gbp and you can find as many as you want in local dealers. Private sellers even lower.
This guy is showing chrono prices.. in reality the sale prices is equivalent to around around 28 pounds for a daytona here in canada.
Nobody is buying a steel white dial unworn 2022 daytona for 28k gbp. He is lying to you.
@@user-qc5hd1km7m yes, in china no one is buying them for 28k gbp equivalent, I can't speak on the rest of the world as I dont live there and know your currrent market prices, but if you buy one for that price right now in china you're an absolute twat
In other words, we are scared shitless. Please call us to buy the watches we have. We are so screwed.
A very smart lady once said "He would say that wouldn't he"?
Undoubtedly, the most beautiful and best watch in the world is the patek Philippe . Thankyou
Nope
Should have included RM prices
I bought my OP 39 well below retail in 2019. Can't wait for the market to return that state of normalcy.
People will run for the doors if they are speculators.
The Grey market is finished best of buying watches at Retail at least you are saving money and not getting ripped off by Grey Market Dealers
Why is it great to see prices levelling or going up? Who gives a shit for these flippers and speculators who have stuffed up a once great hobby.
prices should be lower than a year ago if watches follow crypto and stock market values
I'll tell you who "a safe dealer to buy from" is, Dylan babes. It's an authorised dealer. I've always done it where _current production models_ are concerned. And if paying retail for something that one actually (shock! horror!) wants to WEAR, then all this guff about 'price corrections' or 'markets crashes' seems - quite literally - hilarious.
Great video👍
Dylan so refreshing to view your video being professionally produced with no hype. Thank You.
I subscribed to your channel;
Thanks your always golden standards for the watch market 🎩 off
The top three brands have outperformed any stock market investment in the past 12 months hands down. Why would someone not want to put their money into Rolex when inflation is hitting 10% specially if you can buy at retail. Probably most people who comment about prices going down can’t afford to buy. I only see upward trajectory come September 🆙
🤣🤣😂🤣🙃
