Great video. That "Dollarz and sense" by DJ Quik has to be in the top five of all time disses . I like both Eiht and Quik. I guess that is like saying you like both Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali. Some people would say you can't like both.
I always thought Quik ate him up n love to listen to that song n never got into MC Eiht but Eiht is nice ..Eiht n spice 1 murda show one of my fav songs n I always respected his style
@@exterminateparasites3185 Damn. My fault. I was thinking more long term, like 50 and Ja, Em and Benzino and such. Though Eiht and Quik beef was a few yrs in, at least it had a end unlike the fore mentioned 😂
Eiht didn't start dissing QUIK, till the Muzik to Drive bye album. He has stated this himself. Plus QUIK didn't write Dollarz n Sense. Makes that shit weak. Eiht wrote all his shit. Way back, he used to write Chills rhymes. But both r dope, no doubt!!
To me as an East Coast fan I say Eiht is the number one guy from Compton, I even put him over Ice Cube and NWA. Great lyricist, and the smooth jazzy but hardcore beats no one sounded like that. He didn't do that house party music.

Well dj quik is lucky he didn't run into anyone because he was about as skinny as snoop Dogg and just like Snoop he had goddamn spaghetti noodles for arms and I don't think there's a soul on earth he could've beaten up

And in Dollaz and Sense he clearly states that Eiht was the one running when they saw each other. But no hate towards Eiht, both are awesome.
I like both but MC Eiht in my opinion goes way harder. “Hood Took Me Under, Murda Show, N 2 Deep, Straight Up Menace, 8 Iz Enough, Def Wish II, & Growing up in the hood goes too damn hard compared to what DJ Quikk put out.
Am I trippin, cause the first track " Real Doe" by DJ Quik , what was the diss? It sounded like he just mentioned NWA and CMW. Correct me if I'm wrong and please explain to me what I'm missing.
Yeah I understand, it's hard to notice at first and I had the same problem too before making this video, but after doing a bit more research I found this explanation: The context behind this line is that DJ Quik represented the Bloods and MC Eiht repped the Crips at the time. When Quik says “to the top of the tree”, he is alluding to the fact that he was a ‘Tree Top Piru’ Blood and was seen by many as a direct shots towards CMW’s MC Eiht and N.W.A’s Eazy-E, both of whom were Crip affiliates.
@@djkas3710 First off, right on for even responding to my post but I get all of that what you explained but if we go back to Quik's "Safe and Sound" album, the track "Let you have it" he mentions the verse we're speaking about and says he wasn't dissing and that's where my confusion comes in because for all the songs back and forth and the real life drama including deaths, I just can't see that verse being worthy of all that it came with. This beef seems to be more crip and bloodish more so than a disrespectful rap verse. I mean, even L.L. called Moe D a punk, I can see that ruffling more feathers than " From the top of the tree, was CMW to see", IF, that's how the verse goes cause honestly I couldn't make out exactly what was said.
Yeah but it was never released at the time they were beefing (it was only released as a part of unofficial bootleg album in 2008) so it's irrelevant for the video
Actually it's mobb deep - put em in their place. But you're quite close, cause at that time mobb deep where signed to g unit, and had that type of beats similar to the 50 cent, game and so
