Excellent work! I have several model SNES consoles and would love to test one. If not a test model then I'll definitely buy the final version. Please keep us up to date on this one, and if you do pre-orders :)
I'm having a weird problem with my childhood SNES. It randomly acts like the start button has been pressed mid game even though I hadn't touched it. I'm using 2 first party controllers that work fine on another SNES I have, I've swapped out the controller ports (including ribbon) and it still does it. Have you ever seen this before? And if so, is there any info you could give me on how to track down and fix the problem?
Clean thd controller port with IPA and insert remove controller 20 times while it's soaked with IPA. If that fails check the ribbon and traces look ok on front port PCB
@@RetroSix have you guys thought about producing and selling replacement controller port ribbons for the Super Nintendo? Doing research on my issue has shown me that there appears to be a decent market for it.
You definitely seem to be the most competent and knowledgable repair person I've seen to date on youtube. Great work!
Thanks much appreciated
Is this the same solution that Voltar has been working on for a while?
No idea never seen it. This solution has existing in my Atari 2600 CleanComp for over a year
@RetroSix does this help with checkerboard patterns, too? Looks great results!
@@ChunkySteveo checkerboard is caused by using composite video as Csync. Just use pure Csync to solve that one
@@RetroSix thanks for the tip on the cable!
Nice!! Great work brother! I’d love to help test some

@@ChewyChicken589 I'm sure I can make them very easy
@@RetroSix Digi Keys has a 12-pin one that you can cut but they don't have the exact one that the Super Nintendo uses
