hi does it keep the Favorite addresses safe in case I install the map updates and new device software/firmware? I really need to update everything on it, but I'm afraid I'd lose the favorites.
Hi, i have a new empty sd card memory of 4GB and i 'd like to download and install on it a map of Morocco to use it in Garmin nuvi 1300 . i already downloaded a map card .img but i don't know if i have to directly copy it on my sd card or have first to convert it before copying it ,, anyway , i do not know how nor what to do to make my Garmin read a Moroccan map ...Thank you for your help .
Wait, so that's it? Just pop in the SD card and update from the desktop Garmin Express app? It formats and installs to the card by itself? I don't need to prepare the card or anything?
@@netman88 I think my problem is that I was trying to use a 64 gig. I later noticed that it said to use no more than 32 gigs. Tomorrow I will buy a 32 gig and see if that helps. As of now my internal memory is 100% full.
I know what you do. Hold your GPS unit in your right hand and walk to a garbage can. If the garbage can has a lid, fully open it with your left hand. Hold your GPS unit directly over the garbage can and simply fully open your right hand. Close the garbage can lid if it has one and walk away. It's just that easy.
@@carlosackmann make sure it is inserted the right way If it not showing memory on card then do update any way after that if doesn't show the card memory you might have to format the micro sd card to a fat 32 (make sure your micro sd card is a class 10 any other micro sd card wont work

If there're a lot of addresses, probably best to note the addresses down before upgrading.

I removed the data from the phone of course in my case. It's just like new after that. Just pop in the SD card and it's ready to use.
@@netman88 my gps memory is full so i buy a 32 gig micro sd card and it doesnt recognize my card is even in it
@@trishclark1915 What micro SD card you have? Have you tried to still format it to see if it works?

It never detects my unit to update and I even bought a new cable today for it.
Is that new cable from the vendor? If not, new cable maybe incompatible. Make sure the cable is all the way plugged in.

I added an SD Card but it is not updating on my GPS?
The SD card will give it additional memory. You need to run the update to update the GPS.
Dommage, tout est en anglais comme d'habitude, sauf que j'habite en FRANCE et que le français est normalement la langue européenne.
My 2599 doesn't have that memory slot on back. Its on the bottom
