I'm sure it'll be said, but chaotic energy Jacob describing the clowns is me trying to explain my dreams to coworkers who dont care.
When I first met my best friends parents I got tipsy and explained in detail a dream I had about falling in love with a Moray eel wearing a sailor hat. He zooped me into his tank, turned me into an eel and we had a wonderful fish life together until my human family "saved" me and as a celebration of my return served a dinner made from my eel daughter... anyway turns out that my best friends parents are wonderfully unusual and were actually very interested and asked a lot of follow up questions.
I know Cirque du Soleil can get pretty surreal, especially with all the variety and themed ones, but it really does sound exactly like someone retelling a dream they had. Maybe I just have very Beckettian dreams, but it felt exactly like a dream description, down to the second-guessing and the "it is implied" moments
@@baffledmouse the best part is that you still remember the dream to that detail, I do that too. I'll remember a dream like it really happened and be like, "Whatever happened to that car I could drive underwater that was full of my teeth that fell out?"

@@weshouldallbenicer Instinct tells me that the loved ones of people who work in Cirque either were probably already into that kind of stuff when they met, or, in the case of siblings and children, they have been exposed to it from an early age so they hardly think about it.

I'm absolutely thrilled to let the readers of this comment section know that that restaurant where you make your own pancakes at the table does exist already, it's called the Old Sugar Mill Pancake House and it's in the De Leon Springs State Park in Florida. It's in a restored flour mill and right next to some natural springs which you can swim in before having lunch. It was super fun when I was a kid : )

a door jangle puts the fear of god in you cause someone is trying to open the door while your pants are down and they didn't even care enough to check to see if someone was in there first.
About bad toilet seats: my current apartment had a WOODEN toilet seat when I moved in. Not fake wood -- REAL WOOD. And some parts of it had been rubbed or flaked away, so there was grime and body fluid stains that I couldn't clean out, and gunk stuck inside the grain of the wood, and it was discolored around the front edge next to the inside of the bowl. Nasty. And I just fuckin bought a new toilet seat, uninstalled the wooden one and put it in a plastic bag in the closet, and installed the new one. And it is SOOOOOOOO much easier to clean, holy shit. If your toilet has a changeable seat and you aren't satisfied with the current one, I HIGHLY recommend learning how to remove and replace it. You can always just put the old one back when you move out.
(I understand that Karina doesn't seem to mind her funky toilets much -- this comment isn't directed to her, but to anyone who DOES mind their current toilet situation.)

So....about the knocking or doorknob jiggle controversy that I didn't even know was a controversy....I always knock. It's how I check if the bathroom is empty. Mostly because I hate when people jiggle the doorknob. It feels rude to me. Am I wrong? I think this is gonna give me anxiety about checking if a bathroom is empty. 0_0 I might never use the public restrooms again.
To me, knocking is requesting a response. I personally dislike when people knock because I don't want to have to respond. I'd rather they just try the doorknob.
yeah, in certain places I've found don't people respond to knocks, so there isn't really a point to it. but yeah, a polite knock is fine with me.

Maybe this is a hot take but a knock DOES NOT mean “hurry up”, it’s an “is anybody in there” the same as a handle jangle but accounting for the possibility that the person inside could have forgotten to lock the door or the lock might not work (or worse, the door has no lock).
YOU WILL BE THANKFUL that the person knocked when you realize you forgot to lock the door!!!

The problem with people jangling instead of knocking is that if you've not managed to actually properly lock it (or if the door simply doesn't lock) the jangler will barge in on you at your most vulnerable
