I really enjoy your reactions, love them actually! For Money Game 2 there's a lyric video and a live. You want to check out the lyric video (the live is shortened)!
@@K8TDidTooRen's vision for the world to see is the official video. In this case that happens to be the lyric video. We are really privileged Ren shares his acoustic and lives with us as well. As a first time viewing, the beach version does not make half as much sense as the official lyric video, since it is only half the song. There would not be much point suggesting to someone who has never heard the song, to listen to the beach version first. Especially since that is not being true to Ren's vision. Having said that, I do like the beach version, too, and listen to it often enough!
For singing, I prefer Englishman in New York, Oh My Woman, Fred Again Mash Up and the busking videos with Sam Tompkins doing Man's World and TBP doing Wade in the Water
The man under the sheet Ren's friend, roommate for 6 years, and lead guirar from The Big Push. People analyze this differently, but i always thought Ren has made hostage those driving the money game, playing the tune we all dance to. So he represents usfighting against it. He wants to burn it down, but after drawing eyes on them, he turns the mirror on himself realizing that he is part of it all too. The final image reminds me if the Buddhist monk during the Vietnam war who burned himself in protest. Agree...very powerful. It took them 186 takes to get the one they wanted. It was Ren and Sam's first one shot video.
The number of takes seems disputed between Samuel and Ren. Ren has said around 130 (was it 128? Can't quite remember). I suppose the real number was somewhere between the 2?
You asked what our favorite Ren song is... I cannot answer that lol. When I try I'm like "oh ....., but what about....., naw, it's ....." I guess it depends on my mood. When I'm in a bad mood, Power or Masochist. If I'm in a fun/hyper mood it's Illest of Our Time or Losing It. If I need to clean and gain motivation, it's Hunger or Down on the Beat. There's something for all energy levels to be fair.
Please make sure for part 2 you do the lyric video as the live version is missing a full verse. It's the most impactful version, the lyric version, imo. Always great reactions to Ren! The person under the money bag hood is Romain Axisa from his band The Big Push ... If you are asking who he represents, I feel that's open to interpretation....
This series of songs brilliantly shows how money and politics and greed are all tangled up with each other, and how we're all complicit in one way or another.
Ok - you asked (!) - my favourites (at the moment - it does change) are How To Be Me (the live version) and Seven Sins. Great reaction btw! 👍😁❤️ PS Over 180 takes to get this one shot!!!
Ren pointed the mirror at himself and in turn inspired us to do the same… And this trilogy only gets more mind blowing so buckle up ☔️ Also from one metalhead to another, I think you will really love his song Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and stunning 🖤
I absolutely conquer and agree as everyone else so far. For me what this #1 represents is that every country around is the same, all governments want us divided and tell us their agenda to not see or use our own free thinking to see history repeating itself. Also on a more important scale and the first step to change is to acknowledge that we as individuals are the ones with the power. Instead of blaming this entity or that person or that country or that company etc it all starts with us. We as humans have allowed this and we have and continue to give that piece of paper more meaning than it is. We allow ourselves to become walking zombies buying and buying and using and judging etc. So at the end of the day even as 1 person if we change our view of money and we change our own selfish behaviors we become one less part of the game where we continue to burn and a part of the game where we can allow them to burn themselves. Idk it's hard to explain. This is only what I personally take from this #1 and what's important I believe is that even if different from my opinion if it makes someone step back and think than the teaching he did over beats had an important impact. ❤
😂....."now I'm nervous again"....I know the feeling - being nervous what is to happen. Totally tense atmosphere. You're right about the silence sequences being of equal importance! Emotions run high when listening to Ren. I so very much appreciate your reactions, thanks! Looking forward to the next Ren: Money game 2. Much love 💚✌
So hard to pick a favorite, but Murderer, Back on 74 Retake, Money Ties, Losing It, and Illest of Our Time are fantastic. And his duets with Chinchilla are incredible, especially Forgot How to Be Me. Also, his team ups with Sam Tomkins are unreal, my favorite is Blind Eyed.
Loving your reactions! Would love to see you check out some of The Big Push (a band that Ren was in) and hear some of his vocals. They are great at mashing up songs and I think you might enjoy their “War Pigs” mashup! Keep em coming you really can’t go wrong❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Great reaction, as always 😄 So happy it's just the start of your Ren journey. There will be so much more surprises for you and I can't wait to expiereance it again with you ❤
Favorite song from Ren? How many favorites am I allowed to have? By category maybe? I think Ren drew eyes to say ... open your eyes and see. ps. ... my president sells Sea-shells.
Loved your reaction! Everyone has a different opinion and that is the beauty of art. I saw it as the masked person was the money game.... which is driven by those in power. I saw Ren taking stabs at the money game with the bat and gasoline but ultimately not being able to defeat it. When he set himself on fire after taking off his "rain" gear I think that was the same as opening ones eyes. Killing the idea of what we have been raised to believe and see a new world. I have so much to say on this that seems silly in text but that was my take. The money game got the guitar back despite attacks and the same old song and dance replayed. If enough of us get together we can find a different way. ❤️
Love your reactions. If you want to hear Ren sing sing, check out Fred Again Mashup or Big Push stuff like Earned it, Man's World, Falling or Wade In The Water or Englishman in NY... Or just go down the rabbit hole, you'll get to all of them sooner or later, just keep doing what you're doing ♥
The guy on the guitar is Romain Axisa, the lead guitarist of Ren's band The Big Push. Check out the band performing I Shot The Sheriff, you won't be disappointed.
Money game was my introduction to Ren back in 2019 . I was so frustrated for years , wondering why this amazing guy wasn't a superstar. Its so good to see him getting the credit he deserves these days. I love to see reactors discover his genius. Enjoy your journey ✌️
Romaine is under the sheet - He is the lead guitarist from a band Ren was in called The Big Push. You would never be a renegade before knowing a few of their songs. Fave Song - Castles Made of Sand 2nd - Lost all Faith 3rd - Seven Sins
My personal favorite from Ren is Patience. The best video is not on his channel. It’s so inspiring. I would listen to it every day if it did t break my heart everytime.
Ren's voice and vocal abilities are indescribable. Along with his use of silence i love how he uses the natural and personal noises that most would edit out. I'm currently loving "life is funny" and "heretic" both older songs.
Ren knows he can sing, and does not feel the need to prove it to anyone. I always consider myself lucky if he even sings a few lines in a song for us. To get a whole song sung, is a rare treat indeed!!!
Fred Rogers said the spaces between the sentences and after the paragraphs were the most impactful because those were where you had time to contemplate.
My favorite Ren track is one that reactors rarely do, probably because it’s only an audio track, but I’m going to keep recommending it: Pocket Full of Pain
Money game 1,2,3 are some of my favourites, love the hunger ,genesis and for Joe and Mackay are beautiful ❤ Love your reaction s , can't wait for more !! 😊
Great reaction Gaz 👍❤ Some already mentioned Eden as a prequel to the trilogy. Further more there are 'Crucify your Culture' and 'Money Ties' which touch the same topic. Nicht, dass dir langweilig wird. Don't panic, it was just olive oil 🫒😀
Fab reaction! “Oh, get in man” - yup! and you’ll never want to get out. MG series is brilliant, look forward to your reactions/reviews. Favourite you say? Impossible to choose but today it’s Murderer 😊

Hello and welcome to the start of the Money Game Trilogy. A brilliant video that starts a Trilogy about the various elements of greed, commercialisation, monetisation, and the hypocrisy of the modern world. This particular video was recorded in the same building as Illest of Our Time and was a true one take. It was recorded live with four microphones (one on Ren, one on the guitarist, one on the camera, and one on the guitar itself), one camera, several VERY long days and over 170 attempts to get a true SINGLE one take video. This was recorded on a minimum budget as well, practically 0 quid/dollars. The only editing done was for cleaning up the audio, centering levels, some color correction and brightness/contrast adjustment to keep the actors in proper focus, and clarity. Money Game Part 1 represents the role of government, power, and the identification of self-perpetuation within the broken systems of money by those entities. Ren represents, at least what most of us have figured out, the actual power inherent to those macro systems. The guitarist in the money bag cover is Romain Axisa, his buddy and former bandmate from The Big Push, and an amazing artist himself. He represents the PEOPLE, as in you and me, being kept from the true power of the 'money game' and yet simultaneous unwitting AND willing participants of our shared greed. The immolation and gas can at the end of the video represents Ren's (power's) attempt to control and destroy that which would prevent the money game from continuing with then Ren realising now that the PEOPLE have their 'eyes' open (hence him drawing eyes on the bag just prior) that Ren is now the problem and the cause of the greed perpetuating itself ad nauseum. He 'immolates' at the end to represent the idea that even those in power CAN, and should, destroy the greed in place and restore homogeneity to the people, where it belongs, where Capitalism was MEANT to be. Money Game represents one of the most complex stories that Ren has ever produced and one of the deepest and most personal of Ren's personal morals, ethics, and beliefs in a singular set of masterpieces. I look forward to hearing your thoughts about Money Game Part 2 and 3! As always, much peace and love to you! ^^
Did you realise it was a 1 shot MV, live perfo? no cut, but it took him 180 try (Ren said as he remember it being endless) The guitard player his Ren's realy good friend who actualy make realy good stuf too Romain Axisa and was part of Ren band: The Big Push and Trick the Fox both chanel having realy cool thing to dig as well.
Imagine living in the time of Mozart or Shakespeare. Luckily, we don't have to. We are living in the time of Ren! He is editing his Tale of Vincent. He say, music wise and videography wise, he enjoyed filming it the most. I am like a 5 years old, waiting for Christmas.
The guitarist has a money bag over his head, symbolising that he is blinded by the „money game“. By the time Ren is done with him his eyes have been opened to the truth, and he literally has eye holes with little black rings around them. Ren realises that burning the guitarist isn‘t fair, because we are all equally complicit in the money game, which is why he turns to self-immolation. The ultimate act of protest.
Another fantastic reaction!! I'm sure you been told, but when you do PART 2 make sure it's the OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO and not the LIVE version, which is only 1/3 of the entire song with no music. If you do the LIVE version first the renegades will have a collective stroke.
This is a one-shot. Sam the videographer said “again like with money game we ended up doing like 186 takes to get that right oh my God” in an interview along with Ren and Black Pegasus (ua-cam.com/video/eWf7bT_jf6U/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared&t=5483) 1 hour 31 minutes in
PLEASE, especially with Ren, if you pause please go back 5 or 10 seconds to get back into context. His lyrics are so good and in depth when you pause, it sometimes take a couple seconds to get back into what he is saying. Other than that, great reaction and welcome to the Ren rabbit hole.
Ren is angry with the money game and all the damage it does. He says we're all blinkered, by the Money Bags over our heads. Seeing everything through this false lens / filter of what is or is not valuable. The money game runs everything; the economy, politics, dictates individual lives... He cuts eye holes in the money bag - trying to help 'us' see out and beyond the obsessive race for more and yet more material gain.- but the guy plays on, regardless. Ren gets angry. He wants to burn all dowm. But then... he pauses, realising; he too / we all are part of This Old Money Game. If we want change - we have to start with ourselves.
Ren is a master at using silence as it's own instrument 😁🥹💜
If Ren ruled the world we live in it would be a pretty chilled and rocking planet.
He certainly talks more sense than any Politician. I'd vote for him.
Generally most of Ren's songs left me speechless after first hearing... But it's necessary to listen it again (even few times for me) to catch it
I really enjoy your reactions, love them actually! For Money Game 2 there's a lyric video and a live. You want to check out the lyric video (the live is shortened)!
There are two lives. One at the sky arts awards is the full song lyrics but done in mg1 style
There are actually 3. He did MG2 live at the awards show. They are all very different. Honestly I prefer the beach live.
@@K8TDidTooRen's vision for the world to see is the official video. In this case that happens to be the lyric video. We are really privileged Ren shares his acoustic and lives with us as well.
