- Can you identify 40 television stars of the 1970s and 80s from photos taken before they were famous? This is not an easy quiz but it’s a lot of fun! Your challenge is to see if you can score more than 20. For an extra little clue, I’ve included the flag of each star’s place of birth. Best of luck and enjoy the quiz!

Many thanks for watching!
Great quiz, thanks. Can't believe how stunning Brigitte Forsyth was (rip).
Wow... that was tough Stu! We sat here saying 'I feel I recognise the person but I just can't place them'. 😂😂😂 Great fun as always and thanks for the time and effort to put it all together. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it, even though it was really tough!
it was funny seeing Terry Wogan as a little girl. lol
👍 great quiz Stu,
Got absolutely none of the American and only recognised even if not by name, about 25% of the UK…
Only when you put the newer photo next to them it was 😖 doh.. of course it is 🙄
Glad you enjoyed it despite how tough it is!
I did the same. Recognised a lot after they were revealed. Brilliant quiz.
Brilliant quiz, got most of them wrong.
Hard? That was near impossible 😂 great work Stu
never knew Glynis barber was south African
Neither did I until a week ago, when I heard her say it on the radio a week ago and I still didn't guess her. The only South African woman I could think of was Prue Leith😂😂
Wow, that was hard! Only 5 - Benny Hill, Griff Rhys Jones, Lenny Henry, Lee Majors and Keith Chegwin. I only got Lee Majors because you flagged it up at the beginning. I was convinced that Les Dawson was James Beck too!
I had 18. There's no way I would have recognised Billy Conolly, Farah Fawcett or Larry Hagman, completely unrecognisable, and I thought Noel Edmonds was Paul Hollywood! That was more difficult than I thought.
I recognised Billy Connelly because of his cheeky smile
Woah!!! Toughest quiz of yours I've done so far!!! 31/40. It would have been 30 but I got lucky with a guess at Joan Collins, but I didn't know it
That's a great score!
I was concentrating on them and don't recall my score, but it was low. I found as soon as you put the modern picture up, the younger version seemed to morph into the adult and it was, duh how could I have not known. Good quiz.
Hello Stu🙋♀️ “Before They were Famous” Quiz: 11/40🤦♀️ Absolutely appalling. I thought Pauline Collins was Una Stubbs...!! I only guessed at Lea Majors as you mentioned an ex Husband of Farrah Fawcett. Another fun Quiz...🤩
Hi Alison. A really tough one this time. Probably the hardest quiz I've ever done! Glad you enjoyed it though.
8 lol
You weren't joking Stu when you said it wasn't easy 😂 a dismal 13 /40 😒 it was a quiz in its self for me just to guess the flags 🥴 thanks Stu enjoyable as always.
Glad you still enjoyed it even though it was an absolute monster! Probably the toughest quiz I've done yet.
@@stuviewtvThanks Stu, an easier one next time tho would be nice 😁
Blimey! That was the hardest quiz yet. I got 19 out of 40 and credit that only to me being 72 years old. I knew I was lost when I thought Jean Alexander was Tilda Swinton! 🥴
A real tough one for sure! Nice score though considering the toughness!
I thought Bruce Forsyth was Tilda Swinton !!😂
Tilda Ogden 😂
I was amazed to get 18 right, they were hard. I'm 51.
Well, young Stu. Young!!😂The things you say on a Saturday 🤣 That was H-A-R-D Hard. I scored 30 but only because I've read a huge number of autobiographies and also because I guessed The Hoff. Great quiz but now my brain hurts....☺👍
Oh yes, that was a toughie. Mind you, that's a great score you got there!
Not a quiz for the ND. I did appallingly! I'd have done better if it was filled with Doctor Who actors so if you could do that next time I'd appreciate it! 😉 Gutted I didn't get William Shatner, that's a bit of an own goal for a Trekker. 🤦
That was tough. Should of got Victoria Wood, Kept the same hair cut throughout her career
😎😎😎👍👍👍👍
Only 11
Youch! That was hard! I didn't keep count exactly, but I don't think I got more than about 15...
Great quiz , Farrah Fawcett quite unbelievable. Amazed I got 11
Thank you for another really enjoyale vid. I didn't too well... I got 13 of them.
It was a really tough one this time. Glad you enjoyed it though!
Bloody 8
I managed to get 18 out 40.
Fantastic Stu. Some were really obvious and some were really difficult to identify.
Thanks!
I know the names but with few exceptions I've never seen them on screen. However, thanks to your channel I am now watching series like Queenie's Castle, Potter, L for Lester and a variety of other sitcoms found while hunting for them all on UA-cam. Thank you for introducing me to programme's I've never seen - most weren't screened in NZ - but which I am really really enjoying now. Better than anything that's been produced in the last 30 years at least.
EDIT and I'm adding Dempsey and Makepeace to the lists, you are a gift that keeps on giving (now I just need to be able to function without sleep),
That's great to hear. So glad you have found these great series to watch from the recommendations on the channel. Sounds like it may take you a while to get through them all!
I did rubbish on this, ashamed.
I got 7.
I consoled myself with plastic surgery was a thing in the eighties. Or aging is a monstrous enemy.
June Whitfield and Tyne Daly were beauties, and I should have got them.
Great quiz. ❤
I got 17 but I guessed William Shatner because I knew he was Canadian. The American ones were difficult, they all look so generic.
12/40 worst I've ever done great quiz very enjoyable thanks again Stu 👍👍😁
Thanks Ken. It was probably the hardest quiz I've done so far.
That was tough. 6/40. You might as well have just compiled a quiz with the wrong questions and the wrong answers!
Ah come on...
I loved it but you drove me crazy because I can never remember names.
But I guess that was the whole point of the quiz? 😁
Had to be the toughest yet, as only managed a poor 15. Some of those were wild guesses. There any chance of some kind of a music quiz at all.
How did I do...dreadfully!!😮
23, didn't do so well on the yank pictures though. Oh dear, how sad, never mind. 😂
Poor effort on my part, only got 12. That was hard I must say but it was difficult 😞 nice one Stu 👍
Bridget Forsyth was Scottish.
As stated in the video, she was actually born in England but to a Scottish family.
A great quiz, I scraped 21. It was nearly as hard remembering the names as who they were - maybe its an age thing! 🤣
I thought #11 was Ryan O’Neal, not Larry Hagman!
Request before they are famous from 70s and 80s movie stars
Patrick Swayze (1952-2009)
Sean Connery (1930-2020)
Roger Moore (1927-2017)
Kim Basinger
Jack Nicholson
Michael Keaton
Those were hard but brilliant quiz did nt do well I only got 13 out of 40
Once again ,showing my age , crying at some of the greats we have lost here. Thank you Stu as always xxxx
I got 21, somehow. That was tough. I thought Mr. T was Gary Coleman. Really enjoyed that. Thanks, Stu. 😊
That's a good score on this quiz. A really tough one!
I also thought Mr T was Gary Coleman! ;-))
Glynis barber looks as great today as she did then...stunner❤
Well, I got 5 right 😂
Man alive, I did horrible at this. lol 12/40 :(
just got more than half. The American ones caught me out most.
only got 6 but fun it was
Embarrassed to say I flopped with 19 out of 45. I'm normally really good at faces. Of the 26 I missed I kicked myself on the reveal for about 23 of them. (plus it made me recall how I used to fancy Lindsay Wagner when I was a lad... good God, no wonder, she was bloody BEAUTIFUL).
My claim to fame in real life is that I once fitted smoke detectors in Hilda Ogden's house (just near to the 3 china ducks on the wall). No I meant her real one in Southport, Jean used to live about 3 roads away from us until her death, and we regularly used to see her about town, but she was very quiet, unassuming and private in RL.
When I fitted her detectors, we naturally chatted a little about her career, and I think she was a little touched that this big old fireman had grown up thinking of her like one of our childhood neighbours. My colleague and I asked politely if we could have photographs taken with her which she kindly obliged us with... we then said our farewells and as I climbed back into the fire engine I accidentally deleted my photo I'd had taken with her... and there was no way I could bring myself to go back and knock on her door for another. A sad loss :(
I used to hobnob with all the major A list stars, don't you know??? as another claim to fame was that I once pumped out Shirley Crabtree's kitchen when it flooded in the early 1990s... all to stop him doing a "Big Daddy splashdown". For a short while he lived 3 roads away in the other direction !!! Southport... That's where it's ALL happening... Honestly !!!
As ever Stu, Thanks for the quiz and entertainment !!!
What fantastic memories. You could have offered star tours in your fire engine!
Phew that wasn’t easy! I got 25 correct. Only got 1 American face and the Canadian one, but not too shabby on the UK. Thanks Stu.
It was a tough one this time! A great score you got there though.
Love this video. Thank You for Being
Thanks as always Owen.
Quick question, do post reveal "oh yes, of course it is" count towards the 20?
On this quiz, yes!
I got full marks then!!😂😂
I got an abysmal 10 correct. 🤦♂
Very good quiz stu but i scored a pitiful 5 and thinking it was tom cruise only to be peter falk just about sums it up for me... Fantastic work Stu 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Steve! Glad you enjoyed it,even though it is really tough.
they were tough
He didn't do well, only 10. Recognised a lot of faces but couldn't put a name to them.
Great stuff thanks Stu.
Glad you enjoyed it even though it was so tough! Many thanks.
I recognized #36 Sir Mr. T
got 11 right was a tough quiz
brigit forsyth was hot.
I only got 4..ah well
Well that was very difficult, 8/40.
Thanks for challenging us Stu.
You're alienating your blind viewers!
Who said that?
Wow, that was difficult. Well done Stu. 😂
Thanks! It definitely is a toughie.
That was fun thanks
Might be better if you showed pictures of how they looked in the '70's and '80's as I don't recognise most of them from their later photos either 😅
Ronnie Corbett looking soooo very serious 😅😅
What a stinker of a round😲
👍🏴
Wow, that was fascinating. Seeing them when they were fresh-faced unknowns! I didn't get Lynda Carter, John Cleese, Larry Hagman and a few others. So 35 or thereabouts. Can't believe how different some of them looked. Great quiz, Stu.
Thanks Carole. Glad you enjoyed the quiz and what a great score on such a toughie.
Tough quiz stu me & my wife only got 13 😊😊
only knew a few ,.......but interesting. and. fun
4 out of 40. Disappointing but fun. Thanks
Getting a picture of Joan Collins as a young girl? That can't be right cameras weren't invented then!
I got 6 all men 😱 the women were harder 🥰👏👏
I managed to scramble my way to get 29!
Nice score!
13/40
6 ffs
