Although I knew he painted, yet never knew he painted so well!
Impresionante!
I didn't know he painted, and can see he did very well!
Really a great master of distinctive Artist.
Thanks.
Magic surprise, je n'avais jamais vu ces toiles, merci beaucoup
Thank you, for opportunity to see...
Thank you
thank you for posting this
Churchill was what most serious Art lovers and connoisseurs would call a " Sunday Painter " not that he couldn't produce reasonably attractive works.
I knew he painted, but now I see more of his artworks here. Hitler was an artist too. I must say he was very good! The critics called them mediocre out of fear of being labeled his admirers. Yet, he painted before the second World War. We have to be able to separate his artistic abilities from his eventual criminal activities. Now Churchill's paintings look good too. It looks like he had some training. The perspective is right, and technically they look very good. The style is similar to what was common among the painters of the period, painting loosely with some traces of the impressionists' techniques. They still paint in this manner all over the world.
I have a book of his paintings and one is missing from this group. It was painted in September, 1952. It's a beautiful painting of children swimming. It's view is from a high ledge and the children
are seen through a large tree. My preference of all his painting because i was born in September 1952.
I envy you, Tom Hanslits! Sir Churchill fascinates me. (In the interest of full disclosure, I'm an anglophile plodding through in the Bronx.)
I know another painter like him
The art helped him from going insane it seems. Just watched a documentary on TV.
A pesar de no ser pintor era muy inquieto y se preocupaba de la atmósfera.
For a politician, they are good paintings.
for a drunken poltrune they are good.
@@uncatila you pompous prick. I assume you are socialist
What has politics have to do with limitations to artistic ability
@@hughgrection4205 no I believe in no usery. Money as an exchange for human labor and human creativity in a free market with no income tax but Tariffs to protect local economies from colonial exploitation. Christ being king and His will bring done on earth as it is in heaven.
Y los nombres de las pinturas?
wthhh i didnt know he was a painter :O
pulls off impressionism pretty well; he feels his subjects. some of it not so good.
Winston Churchill?? El ministro inglés??
Si.
En la serie Crown me entere que pintaba, hay un capitulo muy bueno donde tiene una confrontación artistica con el pintor que lo pinta.
The UK’s Prime Minister. He was good. If only our politicians take up a brush and a canvas , there would be less crime and Gerrymandering going on. 😉🤔
El mismo
It's interesting to compare them to Hitler's paintings. His felt cold and lifeless, while there's always a touch of warmth in Churchill's.
The Same Winston Churchill as the Prime Minister?I did not know he painted.
Wow maybe he should have been a Painter instead. I wonder if Margaret Thatcher had canvases in her closet other than her husband’s clothes and shoes. UK would not protested so much.
Oh that man needed to clean his consciousness
For sure, after being involved in so much destruction and murder of his kin he must have had at least a little guilt about all the evil things he did.
He was not perfect like you, I guess
@James Smith Your country is Israel?
@James Smith Ok, then your previous comment was false.
@James Smith That's another false statement.
I know this will offend a lot of people, but can you try to find the ones by Hitler?
He did it but it is not disponible now
Well obviously Winston Churchill was better than Hitler in so many ways even painting. Still rather see Frida Kahlo and Dali as Painters than those two War Mongers.
I JUST came from Hitler's collection a moment ago...Half-decent stuff. A little cool but academically well versed. I can't fully understand Vienna's rejection.
@@bryanttillman I can't say Hitler's paintings are bad, but they are made by one of the most evil men that ever lived. Churchill's aren't that bad either. Though my favorite politician turned artist is George W. Bush.
@@diggerfan9319 You should see bush's self portrait. It's almost top notch, and Bush doesn.t have that much between him and HITLER.
If Churchill had appriciated art he has not let bombed german towns.
what no one will say is that he forged and sold them to keep his house and stay in Parlament on a 500 lb stipend.
This big fat politician get way too much credit for whatever he did in his life.
Winston Churchill may have been a master in many things, but painting wasn't one of them.
I have to admit that I dislike Churchill as a man. I dislike him as a politician. And I dislike him as a drunken warlord. But I thank the creator of this vid because I now dislike him as a painter.
he wasn't a warlord.
willie otoole...but apart from that, you liked him...
@@vajra1171 I can only recall what he did to India.
He wasnt very good. But he was not bad either. An amateur who obviously got great pleasure from his painting. That's what matters most
