Never was a fan of steel books…got my basic set delivered today and I’m happy with it. Glad to see disc art on the US version and I’m not missing the blu ray discs at all. Less space to allow more room for my 4K collection!

SWEET. I really dig the presentation of this set. I have so many movies to upgrade in 4K. They are shooting the 5th movie right now, so we know for sure there will be more sets to come.
Absolutely! They ALWAYS put out 4K full movie sets right before another entry is about to come out. Double the money for us nuts who get everything!

The thing about that is that Paramount still owns the distribution rights to these movies while Disney owns Indy 5 so there isn’t a guarantee that there will be a complete set unless they make some sort of deal.

Other than the inside artwork on the SteelBooks. I honestly think the regular version takes the cake. BUT the UK version has more artwork than this one, so I'm kinda bummed. Either way, they could've done so much more stuff for all of the releases considering it's $80-100

Do you think this set is worth it? I’ve been looking to upgrade my Indy films for awhile as I still have the DVDs 😬. Have you had a chance to check out the 4K transfers?
Absolutely! The packaging isn't amazing, but the discs, scans and audio are incredible!
I’m really glad they didn’t do that stupid “cardboard book” nonsense with this, because those do not protect the discs properly. This at least has proper secure plastic click-in housing for each disc, even if the packaging on this set and the steelbook set may still seem subpar quality to many people.
True! I hate how the discs scratch in those. We need like a new solution to look cool and be sturdy. I like how boutique Blu-ray labels do individual discs!
@@ScreamingCinema Yeah, with those "book" ones (like BTTF 4K and Jurassic Park 4K collection) I take the discs out of the "book" and store them separately in protective sleeves.

No, the Blu Ray disc is included in the Steelbook. In both cases, it’s just a repressing of the special features disc from 2012. Even the 4K discs recycle the menus from the 2012 set.

The new Blu-ray disc set is just the old 2012 discs repackaged anyway so no loss. Europe has them included but it also jacked up the price because of it so I'm happy to only pay for the 4Ks.

I ORDERED MY 4K, and still not arrived. I usually buy from BEST BUY, as I am a reward member since 2009, and usually always buy from Best Buy, BUT, found the 4k box set "cheaper" at another vendor ($35 dollars cheaper) for regular 4K (the one with extras and bluray discs). IF steelbook at Best Buy was same price AND included the bluray discs and the extras, would have bought at Best Buy of course. BUT heard there is a shortage currently with the regular 4K set I ordered (not enough printed), so now I wait.
Brutal! I always hate how it’s a guessing game on some of these releases. Just want it on time!

So what you’re saying is that I should get THIS edition as compared to the steelbooks? Lol I love what this specific set includes and I think it’s worth more than the steelbooks too so it’s a great deal! With the next film coming out within a year or two I want to want until there’s a 5 film boxset to get the Indy films. Great showcase Max!
Yeah I like this set. If the Steelbook packaging was better I might say it’s worth it but it wasn’t up to par with other Steelbook sets.
The problem is that these 4 films are owned by Paramount and the 5th film is owned by Disney so you won't see a box set with all 5 movies in it. Unless Disney buys Paramount someday which could happen.
The only issue is that the fifth film will be a Disney distribution. It’s not impossible to get a box set (they worked something out with Sony/Universal for the Infinity Saga set) but unlikely

How do you tell if a Blu-ray release is remastered or not? Several UA-camrs have said that the Blu-ray’s are remastered?
I don’t think they are remastered.
They aren’t remastered, Those youtubers are too lazy to check. The blu-rays are recycled from the 2012 release.

Everyone is buying the Indiana Jones 4-DVD Collection because I tried to buy it at Amazon and people are copying what I'm doing.
This has happened with other stuff as well like that 4Patriots battery, I'm watching what everyone's doing.
I don't have my little $594 SSI money until the 1st, so all I could do is buy it and leave it in my cart until I have some money.
What people are doing is buying it out from under me, and Amazon tells me the item is no longer available.
This has happened TWICE already, and the price of the DVD collections that are left are more than I'm willing to pay because I'm all budgeted out with my little bit of SSI money.

That’s so strange to me... in the US and here in Canada, we get just the standard 4K discs. But in the UK, they get both the 4K discs and standard Blu-Ray in the set. 🤔
It’s anew thing in the states especially for Paramount recently!

@@ScreamingCinema I don't get why they do that anyway same as how I didn't get some blu rays including the Dvd as well the whole point of 4K is you are upgrading the quality of the films from Blu Ray so why would you want the Blu Rays included if you wanted the Blu Rays then you would buy them and not the 4K just never makes sense to me
I find it VERY odd that The Temple of Doom is rated PG on the back, despite it being the film that created the PG-13 rating. They’ve most likely changed it, but who the hell would even make that decision?! 😩

I am gutted that this can’t be bought as a trilogy set only as I have seen never seen the 4th and I will never watch it as the first three are complete in my opinion... if I do get this... I’ll at least have a Friday for my dog

It will never be available as a trilogy because it is not a trilogy anymore. Your best bet is to buy the steelbook set, throw away the outer box and get rid of the fourth steel. Most people are expecting these to be available individually if you are willing to wait. Also, you might give the fourth film a try. It has problems but it is not any where near as bad as people say. For me it is just good enough to be canon.

I still have a full-screen DVD box set of the original trilogy from 20 years ago. It may be time to upgrade, but I don't have a 4K player. Don't need Kingdom of Crystal Skulls and I have no interest in the 5th movie they're making. But the packaging on this looks good. The cover is from one of the original posters, I think.
Yes, the cover is great! 4K is pretty cool, but you need the right player and right TV. They are putting out a blu-ray set I believe which may make more sense for you. amzn.to/3v2KWnS

@@Danbo22987 Nope! Sorry. When it comes to Lucasfilm, now owned by Disney, I'm pretty closed minded. They pretty much flushed Star Wars down the toilet. But I am genuinely open minded to all kinds of other movies. So I don't need to waste my time with Indy 5.

Everyone hates Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, when in reality Temple of Doom is the one that sucks.
Neither one of them suck; 'The Last Jedi' and 'Rise of the Skywalker' take those places.
