Ive seen a lot of the other tanks on here and yours is still one of my favorites. looks great and not overstocked liked 90% of the others on here. sweet work!
A real decent reef tank. Lots of space for the fish to swim. Thats a decent reef setup. An addition of a lemon butterfly fish would make the tank look superb.
Nice cycle! Natural, just the Mother Earth intended. Awesome end result. Loved the progression. No way to do it than naturally. Love the coralines, they are the best part.
thats a beautiful tank dude....and i got a little annoyed at the comments saying stuff about the first part. they would understand if they took the time and watched the whole video. but that was a very nice turn around for that tank. great job
nice job. looks much better. although before u had 3 powerheads and now there is only 1? That's a big tank in my opinion for only 1. love the red fish(flame?) makes it look nice and the sand looks a lot better too!
very very well done. should be proud! it really wasnt even a bad tank in the before vid. do you have rods going through your LR for support or did you just balance em out? and is that the same Hippo tang in the b4 and after vids?!?! again great tank
Very good video man... Just change the title to Saltwater Tank revival or something,,, I almost gave up in the begining before I saw where you were going with it :-). Nice video quality as well! Everything you are mentioning here should be considered in all fish keeping but this was a great example how crucial it is especially in salt water tanks! Good job!
Laminar flow, sometimes known as streamline flow, occurs when a fluid flows in parallel layers, with no disruption between the layers. In fluid dynamics, laminar flow is a flow regime characterized by high momentum diffusion and low momentum convection. It is the opposite of turbulent flow. In nonscientific terms laminar flow is "smooth," while turbulent flow is "rough."
hi, its very nice.... i would like tu ask u some questions, what is the length width and height of your this aquarium? what pump do u have in display? what equipments do u use? i want to do a reef aquiariom just like this one can you give me same tips? sorry about my english.. thanks
hey, my tank has lots of algae in it. red carpet algae on the sand and glass, also hair algae on the rocks. do i need to lose the live sand by sucking it up or aquascape it to make the circulation better with added wave makers. thanks edward
@dudepros Some tangs DO eat some hair algae... but most just shy away from it from some reason... If you do happen to get one that found a sweet teeth for it they can definitely clean a good area. I dont know what you mean by "all that algae". If you are referring to the algae in this video...then not. I actually took the rocks out of the tank and the ones affected by the algae I scrubbed with a wired brush and then cleaned them in plain (not tap water) water.
@edward1234u No need to suck the sand. Unless is on a great area, to help you eliminate some of the bacteria. Be careful as to NOT spread it. Also read up a little on diatom blooms as this are sometimes confused with cyanobacteria.
you never need to do it this way unless its covering every inch. all you need it to redirect your powerheads, do more water changes, and calm down on the feeding amount. next vacuum the sand bed but don't remove the sand. next use "red slime" by chemiclean and do a waterchange 2 days after dosing and repeat till its all gone.
I've heard that tangs eat hair algea, is it possible for a single tang to eat all that algae? sorry if i am missin formed, in either fish facts or algea. i am new to this hobby and am still waiting for my books to arrive in the mail
how did u get off all the algae, mine still coming back and it seems to kills my zoos and nothing is happy or walk over it, shrimp wont either the snails, nothing its eating it ,what is good for that?
@shutupnumnuts In most cases they just jump out of the tank or get sucked into the overflows. Make sure your overflows are not the issue here. correct sizing of holes with a lighting eggcrate barrier to avoid them jumping into the overflow and eventually into sump where they could get easily killed by the pumps there. If you do not have a sump, check and see that they do not have a way around the tank to jump to their deaths.
Nice tank. Don't overstock it, remember its a reef not a FOWLR. Add a couple of cleaner shrimp; mine eat algae and remains of food, they also clean my Large Yellow Sailfin Tang.
@karsseboomh22 They are actually gone. Bioballs DO have their place in marine aquaria, just not so on a REEF that has a good amount of LR as the nytrifing bacteria gets displaced from the tank, and this amount of aerobic bacteria vs anoxic one creates issues. They are better used on FOWLR systems or fish only systems.
Since around March 2008 when UA-cam introduced a "High Quality" option on some videos. fmt=6 (270p 16:9/360p 4:3, FLV/H.263/MP3 mono) and fmt=18 (270p 16:9/360p 4:3, MP4/H.264/AAC stereo) are "HQ". IIRC, fmt=34 (360p 16:9, FLV/H.264/AAC stereo), and fmt=35 (480p 16:9, FLV/H.264/AAC stereo) came along the same time as fmt=22 (720p HD). 50,600 videos mention the HQ button, 133,000 mention the HD button, people pointing all over the place at the subscribe button... interfaces change.
Ive seen a lot of the other tanks on here and yours is still one of my favorites. looks great and not overstocked liked 90% of the others on here. sweet work!
wow, the tank looks much better at the end since we saw the condition it was in before hand. Great job for bringing/turning the tank around.

Interesting music. Love the way your rockwork is set up!

Very cool video, the change is awesome. Tank Looks great!
I though, ugh, that tank doesn't look good at all!
Then you cut to the new version of the tank. Fantastic! Love it, looks great!
Kudos on the new set up- looks great :)
What a grat job you've done!!! congrats! Keep on the good work!
i havent watched this vid in over a year but thanks for introducing me to this song!! i meditate to this up to this day!
I'm currently doing this same procedure...It seems like it will never get as beautiful as your reef! But you gave me some great ideas!!!
Love it... You did a great job, fixing that tank.....=)
wonderful selection of fish and i liked the first song sounded like portuguese
Very nice change, so much cleaner and clearer.
Nice Regal man!!!! Those chromis are beautiful too!!!
amazing looking tank , just started my saltwater hobby with 28 gallon nano cube cant wait to jump into something larger like this.
In my ten gallon reef i change about a gallon per day and for the last year it has been doing great. BTW wonderful tank, love the before and after.
thats a beautiful tank dude....and i got a little annoyed at the comments saying stuff about the first part. they would understand if they took the time and watched the whole video. but that was a very nice turn around for that tank. great job

Beautiful transformation!

thanks for the reply i'll take it into account thanks a lot
Edward
p.s. you are probably the most helpful person yet
screw all those haters your tank looks great keep up the good work
I like how it's "not all rock" and left room for open swimming..... very nice...
Very nice aquascaping in the after shots
i dream of having something like this ..i realy admire your tank great job!!! It is amazing i LOve it !
Love the redo! Plus the aquascaping is beautiful. Do you often do water changes to keep the poop off of the sand bed floor? Or does it clean itself?
mi piace molto quando lo avete ristrutturato l acquario come è dopo è davvero bellissimo complimenti soprattutto per la forma che avete dato alla barriera! forse pero qualche corallo in più
Nice video, good songs too. I like the change ..new song+new tank = : )

Fantastic Aquascaping!
What a change on this tank! So now you have all the proper equipment, phosban reactor,uv sterilzer....?
nice job. looks much better. although before u had 3 powerheads and now there is only 1? That's a big tank in my opinion for only 1. love the red fish(flame?) makes it look nice and the sand looks a lot better too!

Amazing Tank...what is your maintenance routine and what supplements do you does? also what lighting plz....thx
very very well done. should be proud! it really wasnt even a bad tank in the before vid. do you have rods going through your LR for support or did you just balance em out? and is that the same Hippo tang in the b4 and after vids?!?!

Excelente trabajo!
oh wow, yes you did a good job hiding them:) good job again, and I can only hope that one day my tank looks that wondeful. (it's getting there).

so natural looking I love it
the name of the song is jack johnson - smoke city - underwater love.
beautiful aquarium!!!
Great TANK! I LOVE IT!!!!
one more question. What do you use to hold the rocks together? as i am trying to use some of your ideas from your tank as it looks awesome
Love your AFTER aquascaping. How many gallons?
How did you stack the LR? Did you use wires or rods or anything? I need to redo mine. Yours looks really good!
What lights do you have love it
damn really like what youve done with it
beautiful water so crystal clear
outro aquario parabéns pela transformação.

i watch this all the time

Very nice!
Yes... they are prone to it , but given proper husbandry they resolve the issue on their own without any problems!
i'm stealing you idea about the pumps in the rockwork..thats a great idea!
@genettico you said you do monthly water change?? how many percent change?? what is your nitrate level??? by the way i love your tank.
hey, my tank has lots of algae in it. red carpet algae on the sand and glass, also hair algae on the rocks.
do i need to lose the live sand by sucking it up or aquascape it to make the circulation better with added wave makers.
thanks edward
did you use anything to support the live rock structures or are they just well placed on each other?
nice tank toward the end there! Are your chromis still alive? so many reports of them dropping one by one until they're almost all gone.
REALLY nice. How noisy is it? My 20 gal is really noisy and my parents are getting annoyed... Any suggestions?
It is tough to get the right balance of flow for your corals and make sure you don't get any dead spots either. Still a work in progress on my 90.
@dudepros

what size of tank is that? and what are paraameters? its a sweet lookin tank
@ollieflp
Nope. You can use some cheap fixture just to create the day/night cycle for the fishies but no need for light other than ambient light.
@TLwalshz , the sand is red because of algae, probably red slime. to get rid of it, increase water flow and try to lower nitrates and phosphates.
Very nice awesome!
@edward1234u

nice turn around on the tank!
lol at the lighthouse goby being a loner :D

Wasn't HQ 360p or HQ 480p available on this video 3 months ago?
Does lighting matter if I dont bother with corals?
thank you sir! Very appreciated!
whats is the song name...used for this video... sounds good......;)
Уважаю за правдивое видео! Редко кто даст полную историю созревания морского аквариума.

How do you plug in the power head hiding in the middle of the tank?
Nice tank. Don't overstock it, remember its a reef not a FOWLR. Add a couple of cleaner shrimp; mine eat algae and remains of food, they also clean my Large Yellow Sailfin Tang.

would a 10 gallom reef tank be a waste?
it has been sorted out! lol! didnt you watch the video? Phosphates were not a factor this time! thanks for the input, I guess!
how many gallons? nice.
where did you hide hoses and things
