I knew you will conquer this little mishap in no time. With you there is no messing around. You get an idea in your head and it's done. Getting through little mishaps without panic and woe is me is another reason your Channels are far and away the best. Don't ever change Simon , you are 1 in 1,000,000,000.00
I’m so impressed by your ability to take on just about any task needed. Sewing, carpentry, engine repair, General automotive repair… Good dog owner… Very impressive indeed. Glad you got your window fixed.
Busted auto glass is always a pain to totally remove completely. Glad there was an auto wrecker nearby and had the parts you needed. .. Cheers to you. ..
I’ve got a healthy respect for your ability to take life in stride. That weight of why me and how come can really drag a person down. You’re a good role model on how to hang onto the towel rather than throw it in. Well done.
Assuming that bad things happening are a personal attack sounds like it would be a large psychological burden. I find it easier to assume it's random and also remember that other people often deal with far worse and find ways to carry on. I'd rather focus on goals than problems 😁.
Oh man…. Glad you got it all fixed up. Perhaps a thin stick wrapped with double sided tape or regular tape sticky side out, can grab some of those remaining shards of glass? iDK, just a quick thought. Cheers from sweltering Pennsylvania!!
Excellent news, thank goodness for you being a Renaissance man and a junk dealer nearby. On this end, weather is smoldering outside but I FINALLY threaded my (2nd hand) NECCHI sewing machine and it is WORKING...on to learning and making. Be safe, kisses to Rocko, she is a keeper.
You are a constant inspiration to us all. You tackle difficult projects without a hint of hesitation. I have the utmost respect for your can-do attitude. You seen to embody the true frontier spirit. March on.
I’m really happy for you that you got it done so quickly. Going to a wrecking yard was definitely the way to go. $400 to replace your window was definitely a rip off. Take care see you next video. 🙂
Nice job. Being able to source cheap parts at the wreckers is a big advantage to owning an older common vehicle. You'll be finding bits of tempered glass for as long as you own the van. Seems impossible to vacuum up all that stuff. Enjoy your hike!
One day I concluded luck and fortune must have different meanings because dictionaries always include some confused definitions. Luck is when what we don't expect happens. Fortune is when what we wish for happens.
What a pain! Glad you found the parts. I had to replace my window and it cost me two days to find the parts, $150 to buy them, four hours to install them and two bouts of tears yo get through the frustration.
Nice work. Love the diy attitude. What about using something sticky to pick up the glass bits? Silly putty, play dough, a rag with some spray adhesive on it or something. Just spit ballin'
Pumped for the quick happy update. Foresty Forest can do anything. Try Slime on the end of a stick to pick up the glass fragments. Cleaning Slime clears dust and debri out of the smallest & awkward areas.
I am so pleased you and the pup are sorted and safe. I did wonder where you were going to find a custom pane of glass. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures, you take me place I would never have seen in my life time - thank you x
Great to see your's and Rocko's home made safe from the elements, and that you're able to return to conquering the great heights of Canada and sharing your adventures with the world. Go well young Foresty.
I paid 10 dollars on ebay for a toy motor to fix my window in my Honda Civic. You are doing the good work, dude. You do so well with keeping above the curve and not getting ripped off.
Great job. Another problem quickly solved by Foresty Forest skills and tenacity. See a problem and attack it from many different angles. Happy that you, Rocco and your van are safe from the elements again
I suggested going to the scrapyard in your first video - nice to know it worked out. Don't be afraid to try the scrapyard when you need parts. It's often a lot cheaper than the dealer and often times there is nothing wrong with the parts in the scrapyard. I use the scrapyard to keep my rusty Toyota running for a fraction of the price it would otherwise. Stay awesome Foresty.
Yay!! Fantastic news and just the cats azz that you found one at the wreckers for a fraction of the price the dealership wanted. I'm over here doing my happy dance for you and Rocco!! 🙋♀Can't wait to hear how your big adventure goes. Stay sane, stay lovely! 🥰
Wreckers are amazing, I needed a part for a 4wd, dealer wanted $800 new, specialty wreckers wanted $300, I discovered it was a shared part with a much more common vehicle, $10 from general wreckers for the win
You should be able to remove drain plugs on bottom of door. Stick the vacuum over the holes, then bump on the door with your hand. Helps shake the glass loose while the vacuum pulls it out. Glad you got it fixed so quickly though.
Besides the beautiful cinematography, hiking, even cooking.. you are such an incredibly talented, smart craftsman. I am stunned regularly at how many things you can fix.
Replaced many a side car window - for failing motors in my case. Dealer always wanted a fortune, I also went to the junk yard instead a number of times. Hardest think in my old old Tempo was drilling out and replacing the rivets that hold the motor in place, in the tight space of the door.
400 BUCKS!!? I get my 'front' windshield replaced for under 300. Good find and onward to adventures for you and Rocko and no worries of mosquitoes attaching while you sleep.
probably too late now as i'm sure the panel is back on, but you could try a glove with gorilla tape(tacky side out) to reach in and collect some glass pieces. Glad you found a quick solve for replacement.
Relieved that you got your window and mirror and didn't have to spend a fortune. To get rid of any tiny shards of glass after vac'ing use masking tape or try a lint roller. Just to insure that there are none left where bare feet or Rocko can pick them up on the floor or seat. (duct tape could leave residue). A bad day but a good find on the window and mirror!
someone commented in the previous video that window tint film stops this "safety glass" from working as it should.... fragmenting into small pieces instead of razor sharp shards. It does not... in fact it contains some of the flying glass bits. You end up with a mat of small glass fragments instead of a huge shower of glass fragments. I know this from several previous experiences. Sometimes auto glass can pop from heat and maybe a minute stress crack or fracture? I had a car window do this in a parking lot on a hot day... I first thought is was broken by a bullet or BB/Pellet but no exiting bullet/projectile found... I happened right when I opened the door and the car was very hot inside.
Glad you got it fixed so quick and wreckers rule, love wandering around the yards. Lots of memories in those cars.
Foresty's superpower is just getting shit done. Nice work. You can save a ton when you're creative.
So glad you found a more affordable solution!!!!!!!!!

Awesome wrecker finds! Have fun..👍😎🇨🇦🐾🌿🌲🌞
I’m so impressed by your ability to take on just about any task needed. Sewing, carpentry, engine repair, General automotive repair… Good dog owner… Very impressive indeed. Glad you got your window fixed.
Yeah, junkyards are a great place to get replacement parts for vehicles. Always feels nice to be able to personally do something that saves money!
Absolutely love your positive attitude. Keep up the good work.
Cool ya fixed it. Junkyard shopping for parts is kinda fun.
Busted auto glass is always a pain to totally remove completely. Glad there was an auto wrecker nearby and had the parts you needed. .. Cheers to you. ..
yay for wreckers. Please be safe out there. Can't wait to see your upcoming adventures
Great news 👏 👍 thanks for the up date .have a blessed weekend 🙏
Nice! Back in business!!!
Glad it's working for you!!
Someone Broke my truck window to steal my very cheap radio. Was still finding glass 3 years later
Down south here in Wisconsin we call them the boneyards. Great job!
I figured a local wrecker would hook ya up. Good stuff.
I’ve got a healthy respect for your ability to take life in stride. That weight of why me and how come can really drag a person down. You’re a good role model on how to hang onto the towel rather than throw it in. Well done.
Well said

Well there ya go. Glad you got that taken care of. Recycled a window from a junker - good on you.
Hey Simon ,great recovery!!

Damn man, you are quick!
I wish I had half the resourcefulness and patience that you do.
I would still be trying to figure out my FIRST move lol .
Yikes! Sorry to hear.
Good job fixing it yourself!
Dealer prices are just nuts!!
👍👍👍👊😎
Put some tint film on so it won't explode again!

So true
Good work Moresty, well done.
You are a straight up shaolin warrior; just moving obstacles out of your pathway with ease.

Duct tape.
duct tape is for _DUCTS_ , silly !
He needs DUCK tape cuz the window was quacked 🦆
@@catblue6393 yes, that oughta do it...
Perfection.❤️
Get some foam silicone and spray the window tracks, less drag, close easier.
You have a good weekend too Foresty. So glad you were able to find the window less expensively. I wish I could learn how to do the things you do.
You da man for fixing that so quickly. Foresty forest doesn’t mess around.
nice! what a quick turnaround. :)
Pumped for the quick happy update. Foresty Forest can do anything.

Make us a foresty forest music video! half of an hour of mountain foutage with cool instrumental music!
glad to see that you got your window fixed and for a pretty reasonable price see you next week on your hike!
Happy to see you're mostly back together. You and Rocco stay safe out there.
Honey, get a paper towel core and tape it around the bar you have. It extends it a lot. Works for lots of things.
So glad everything worked out for you and rockstar ☺️ you’re awesome foresty! Bring on the adventures woohoo. Hi from Australia 🇦🇺
And when life happens you got to get her done! Good Job!
So glad it worked out for you. Enjoy the hike, can't wait to see that trip!
Frosty Forest is the MacGyver and Tim the tool man Taylor of van life 👍👷
I'm glad you both are on the way to the fun stuff!
I'm so happy that it went so well, big savings in time & money. Very cool. Thanks for the update!✌
Hell yeah brother glad to see you get it done!! I send you strength from Colorado for your long trip!
Glad you were able to find a replacement so quickly and for less. Dealers always charge the Earth.
Great job. Another problem quickly solved by Foresty Forest skills and tenacity. See a problem and attack it from many different angles. Happy that you, Rocco and your van are safe from the elements again

You have a great weekend too!
lol come on Simon... show us your little mishap! The suspense is killing me... or curiosity... or both
Yep. LOL
He said in another video a bird hit the mirror IIRC.
That's the great thing about owning a vehicle in continuous production for a quarter century - plenty of parts at the scrap yard!
You should be able to remove drain plugs on bottom of door. Stick the vacuum over the holes, then bump on the door with your hand. Helps shake the glass loose while the vacuum pulls it out. Glad you got it fixed so quickly though.
Thank goodness! Take some rest & relaxation time if needed, and set your priorities, eh? No pressure. 😃
Good point
Nice that was quick! 😁
I feel special to be able to keep up-to-date with ForestyForest on this and Patreon and he doesn't have to summit a mountain just to upload.
Glad everything worked out brother!
Great work Foresty.. as always!!! 🙏🏼❤️
thats quick. have a good weekend and chill a bit
Dang, that was quick! Nice work, and good find on the window!
Glad things worked out Simon. You can’t keep Foresty and Rocco down for long. Give Rocco a kiss for us Southerners watching in Florida. 🌈🥰💖
What's the backstory!!!
Couple of ipa's later? 🤭🤟
Wow. Big difference in price, and then the recycling bonus. Glad to hear it worked out well that way. Happy Trekking! ❤️Rocko❤️
This is great news that you have it fixed so quickly, and Rocco seems cute as ever with no after affects
All the best.
Yess!!! scrap yards are the first call!!
Awesome video!
I was about to recommend looking at a wrecking yard for a new window in the last video, but then I saw this. Nice work!
Eagerly awaiting the Foresty Forest: 'I hooked the vacuum up to a jet engine' episode.
Good going getting it fixed so quickly. What a pain in the butt.
All's well that ends well. Good luck on the trip!
Taking care of business 😉 See you next week. I'm glad you were able to fix things. Stuff happens.
Besides the beautiful cinematography, hiking, even cooking.. you are such an incredibly talented, smart craftsman. I am stunned regularly at how many things you can fix.

Good that u got that window from the junkyard. Dealership rip people off.
Glad the van is fixed! Door windows are super easy to change out (once you get past the door, anyway).
400 BUCKS!!? I get my 'front' windshield replaced for under 300. Good find and onward to adventures for you and Rocko and no worries of mosquitoes attaching while you sleep.
Side and rear glass is often more expensive than windshields. There is a lot more demand for front glass replacement.
probably too late now as i'm sure the panel is back on, but you could try a glove with gorilla tape(tacky side out) to reach in and collect some glass pieces. Glad you found a quick solve for replacement.
Good thing you have an understanding boss!
Thanks for the update! Can't wait to see if you have any footage of the actual original issue :P Good to know you are safe. :)
Chevy GMC are easiest to get parts for would have enjoyed the wrecking yard to hot to go out in Florida

Jog well done you are a talented guy.
Damn! You are lucky you don't have a transit, promaster or sprinter. Chevy army FTW!
Whew! Great job, and darn good plan you came up with for fixing the window.
