To say that my stay with different Idu Mishmi tribal families has been incredibly wonderful is such an understatement. This trip has humbled me in so many different ways, it’s a life-long experience. Not only was I well taken care of during my sickness but I also stayed with them, slept where they sleep, ate what they ate, danced w/ them, trekked w/ them, went fishing, shared laughter & jokes despite language barriers & shared stories over a cup of tea sitting by the center fireplace. These things I experienced wouldn't be possible without their outstanding kindness and openness to an outsider like me. . Spending time with Idu Mishmi tribal people has taught me a strong sense of community. I learn & witness life in its purest form. Yet, I also see the harsh reality of what modernization can do to many tribal cultures. Migrating to bigger cities, younger generations can barely speak the small language of Idu & since it has no written literature, the language can soon disappear. . Traveling in this region often won't give the comfort levels of things you usually take for granted, comfy beds & toilets, proper road, electricity, mobile signals, shops, etc. Despite all this, I experienced pure kindness all the way through. Traveling alone to these villages, among these strangers has given me proof & reminders of how much kindness there is in the world. It's easy to sit & consume information online believing how awful things in the world are. We fear what we don't know, step away & out into the world. You will be reminded there is still goodness out there.
Idus are brave people but incredibly kind and humble. A truly handsome tribe. Glad you got to experience them. I live very close to them and yet to ecperience them from near.

Oh yes, I really like this approach, If the editing is hard work, let me tell you it 's definitely worth it. I am so sorry to hear that you were sick with food poisoning, that is hard when you are travelling alone. I am glad you were able to rest in this lovely community:-) The videos you make really are eye-opening for me introducing me to communities & cultures that I had never heard of before. I particularly loved the women's singing, so beautiful. Thank you Syifa.
