Marty Haggard came and sang at our church several years ago. He sounded just like his dad. I kept wishing he’d sing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” That’s my favorite Merle song!

Country music radio just cares about the current "talent". If you're not selling out 50,000 seat venues, you're not worth playing on the air.
The ones controlling country music changed it to modern CRAP because the don't like original country music. All the modern CRAP sounds the same, all of the singers sounds the same if you listen to any of it, you can't tell them apart. Everyone of them sounds the same and you know it. 20 years ago you knew who was singing a song, now you don't, it's for a reason, these a-holes want it that way. If it's not "old time country" don't play it !!

As a Pastor of a small church in Tarrytown Georgia Marty came and did a concert for us just for a love offering he is kindness man I know and has a real love in his heart for Jesus and the youth of America he spent an hour after the concert sitting in the floor talking with our youth great man.
I'm not surprised to learn, that Marty is a sincere, nice man that loves playing his father's music. I hope to meet him one day soon! Love his music!

All of these boys seem so well behaved and I can see how talented they are; I believe they grew up with respect for their Dad in spite of the problem that come with a musicians family. The core was probably Grandma Haggard. I hope they all have successful careers in music and I hope they are proud of their Dad because he brought such happiness to all of us. He was a great singer, probably the best of all. Much success and a lot of people had hard times early on.

Marty, I'm 57 years old, and remembering listening to this tune traveling to a rodeo in Texas. I was a bullrider at the time. I grew up in Texas. Momma died a few years ago.... In Brenham. It's my belief, they don't make Country Music any more. This junk they pass off for country music now is some other breed of noise.
