If this was digitized it would be even more fantastic.

Thanks so much for sharing. This is swell! So many classic and iconic trains! Unusual Pennsy caboose and Lima (perhaps?) Diesel switcher at 2:10.

Thanks for not adding cheesy sound effects.

I like the vintage motive power that shows up. Only the Pennsy could offer up such diversity.
    Thanks for posting.

At 8:30 a Great Northern 'Great Dome' car. I'm sure the car was brand new and being shipped from Budd, Red Lion plant near Philly. All these years we believed "Dome cars can't be run in the east because of clearances" yet here's proof that even the largest of them could fit in at least some of PRR's tunnels of that time (before increasing clearances for auto racks and hi-cubes).

Those big decapods were really the backbone of the railroad in my opinion.

Those beasts took 2 guys to throw a fire before the tightwad Pennsy finally split for stokers.

@@b3j8 They didn't have overweight firemen for sure. It's amazing how many went to the scrap yard still hand fired.

The CNJ footage at 3:30 appears to have been shot at Winslow Junction during a railfan excursion.

That was excellent, especially with the Alcos & the goofy looking GM Train of Tommorrow! I'm guessing that was around Altoona/Horseshoe curve area.
