2024 Tenebrae Preludes - Practice Session@ Our Lady of Pity Church - March 22, 2024

Here is my practice session for the two preludes I will perform prior to this year's Tenebrae prayer service. The first is entitled "Psalm" by Gordon Young. This comes from his collection, "Eleven Pieces for Church and Recital." I was thrilled to find this collection in the UK, since I played several pieces in my early days as an organist. However, this one was new to me. The second is called "Crucifixion." It was composed by me for this particular event. I created it as an improv, recalling the Stations of the Cross, and it just came to me. After cleaning it up a bit, this is the final result. I hope you enjoy both!
