I see a lot of these people breaking down microwaves the magnetron and the Transformers. Most people don't understand that you can get radiation poisoning from the magnetron itself. And the capacitor still hold a high charge on them if you're not careful it will zap you. I have been Zapped before I am a appliance technician I fix all appliances
If you peel the back of the fridge off (only takes a few minutes, some have screws) you will get a copper line that runs from compressor to the aluminium rad. Also compressor has copper in it if you want to take apart, it's kinda tough if you don't have the right tools. I have a stihl saw but a big grinder will work as well (try one and then you can decide if it's worth it). They pay a different price for compressors around here 10 cent per pound, so check what steel price is and take off or leave on depending on what pays more
i was cracking up when you had everything in the fridge with the door wide open and you flipped it the wrong way into your truck? Wow your a trip. Watching you is to funny. I love your passion thou hope you make a ton
Good to know these hundreds of aluminum "looking" heat sinks pulled from the PC's I've scrapped are actually copper!! That's makes them worth a LOT more money! Thanks!!
Not how I scrap refrigerator, I also remove compressor and cut it off top with grinder for 1.5 pounds copper. I also fill ref with scrap metal to save trip.
DUDE. You dont know how to scrap SAFELY. in your other video, you showed us how to scrap a microwave without acknowledging the fact that you couldve been killed by the electrical charge still present in the capacitor(not inlcluding the magnetron which can cause cancer). Now you are scrapping a fridge without evacuating it of Freon-which is released when the copper tubing is cut-which is dangerous if inhaled or contacted with the skin. BE SAFE AND DO MORE RESEARCH, BUD'!
Well he’s gone now. I never really liked this guy because he is so uneducated about the dangerous acts he dose. Now I see that he did this whole cross thing and it’s really sweet of him.
When i scrap a refrig, not only do I tear it down, but I fill the cavity with extra steel (old steel wheels, etc.) I wouldn't waste my time for $26.60 when I can bring in a lot more at one clip.
No they pay you by the metal. Aluminum, wires, sheet metal, copper etc.. they have different price. If you don't strip it, they will only pay for the outer shell of the refrigerator which is the $22.05 that he got.
I actually think its good that people try to scam by adding weight and stuff like that. It makes the value of improperly scrapped metal cheaper and gives a little more room for professionals that dont fuck around and do it right.
People aren't throwing away $26.25 in scrap.....they're waiting for someone like yourself to come along and take three hours to load, unload, tear down, drive to the scrap yard, load and unload again after waiting in line....waiting to get paid and then driving home.
he should mention to get the freon out/degas typically requires special equipment or skills.. and that people shouldn't vent that stuff to our air supply
my moms getting rid of her old fridge bc it doesnt work. i just came to see what the guy will make off of our old fridge. i got an email from a guy that said if you cant find anyone that will take it for free, pay me $15 and ill remove it.... and i needed the new one delivered also. so he quoted me $50 for both jobs. i thought it was a fair price to get the job done. but i ended up walking away without having to pay anything in the end. someone took the old one for free and a friend delivered the new one for free. i was wondering why the guy wanted $15 tho, asumming he will prob scrap it..?
You are actually incorrect too. Copper is a better conductor (one type of heat transfer), but aluminum is a better radiator(another type) due to lower density. Metal cost has to do with scarcity and other uses such as retrieval costs, how it machines, and its durability. That's why gold is so expensive, not because of its conductive properties.
Not how it works aluminum makes up 8% of the crust of earth copper is harder to extract like gold gold is common but the hardness of the collection make it expensive
i use a grinder to cut a rectangular hole in each of the side panels and pull out the long copper pipe that is imbedded in the insulation, from a frigde that size I usualy get a extra kilo of copper out of it, but it costs about a dollar worth of grinder wheel, I just haven't found a better easyer way of getting to it. still its an extra 6-7 bucks
Four years ago in South Carolina, you could get $50.00 for that fridge without removing anything at all at the scrap places. I don't know what it's like now, cause I don't live there anymore.
I could not imagine having this guy as a neighbor... come look at al's car, come see how much money I got for the fridge you left on the street... come hear my voice...
I don't understand. you'll smash glass to pieces for a piece of tin out of a TV. But you throw away copper in a refrigerator pump. copper tubing, and wire through out the fridge. HMMMMM
u do know that if u break the pipes things on the back u will get a leakage of amoniac which is not very good;> so be careful when dealing with that stuff
Aluminum is NOT a better conductive (heat or electricity) than copper, it's cheaper and lighter. Copper thermal conductivity is like 0.99 and aluminum is only half of than (0.5).
wrong copper transfers heat better thats why computers use copper heat sinks and in water cooled computers its only copper never aluminum, learn before u speak
thank you for helping me see how worthless all the work was in what you did. thats horrible money i felt bad for you. just totally changed my mind on the whole scrap metal thing. back to driving i go....good luck to you great video thx
how an idiot scraps a fridge. if you take the time to unscrew with a drill you can sell the parts. these kind of people are low profit and not very intelligent.
This is a great video, i am glad you did one and nothing else, It's easy to see what's up that way. so what i will do is not go in till I have 4 or more. that way gas does not eat up my pay. 100 bucks is a 100 BUCKS! LOL Thanks man! Now I have to find a yard that doesn't rip me off. I have proven two of them here do it on a regular basis.
This video is more like, how not to scrap a refrigerator for aluminum and copper! Always take the compressor 😂
Yeah well he also left the condenser coil behind
Hope the folks next door are deaf
And Freon is nasty business. That's why you have to have a license to even buy it. Seems like this dude did not care about freon in the environment
@@dn7325 Was already empty, but yeah it's not obvious they're empty even if they don't cool

This guy definitly shows how not to scrap refrigerator, he left compressor what a amateur
PitsuMiwus yup. Good bit of copper inside the compressor. Rookie!😂😂
I came for the compressor
Fyi its my secound day and even i know that
Nit wit simple minded
He left the other coil in the fridge
I wanna keep the light bulbs .... You got to be fucking kidding me.
Anybody covered in paint like that isn't a professional.
i was cracking up when you had everything in the fridge with the door wide open and you flipped it the wrong way into your truck? Wow your a trip. Watching you is to funny. I love your passion thou hope you make a ton
get yourself a 5 x 10 trailer with a drop gate. That poor truck is taking a beat en lol yeeee haaa go make some money
2:37 it's copper that transfers heat better than aluminium
Love this dude's videos. He gets funnier the more I watch him. "Aluminium transfers heat better than copper." LOL!
Good to know these hundreds of aluminum "looking" heat sinks pulled from the PC's I've scrapped are actually copper!! That's makes them worth a LOT more money! Thanks!!
No surely they are just aluminium
Not how I scrap refrigerator, I also remove compressor and cut it off top with grinder for 1.5 pounds copper. I also fill ref with scrap metal to save trip.
5:43 was waiting for the pickup glass to smash ;)

@@BGTech1 RIP :(
@@BGTech1 How u know he's gone though?
@2:37 INCORRECT! Copper is twice better at conducting heat. They were saving money there
Cut your compressor open with a angle grinder, and you get near 2 pound of copper out of it.
when i cut mine open i also got about 1/2 lb of brass
Really hard to cut that open
All this time I been scrapping fridges wrong lol.
Me too. I just recently scrapped a fridge and I was shocked on how much more money I was missing out on
There is about 2 pounds of copper u missed in the motor there big boy
This scrapping thing also looks like mom couponing
I am just getting into the scrapping world and I enjoy it .
When i scrap a refrig, not only do I tear it down, but I fill the cavity with extra steel (old steel wheels, etc.)
I wouldn't waste my time for $26.60 when I can bring in a lot more at one clip.
Mike Paul question. Wouldn't he get the same amount of money if hadn't strip parts?
No they pay you by the metal. Aluminum, wires, sheet metal, copper etc.. they have different price. If you don't strip it, they will only pay for the outer shell of the refrigerator which is the $22.05 that he got.
I'd love to build a shredder so I can shred sheet metal, etc. Then I could just melt it down myself.
Exactly fill the voided space with extras
I actually think its good that people try to scam by adding weight and stuff like that. It makes the value of improperly scrapped metal cheaper and gives a little more room for professionals that dont fuck around and do it right.

Well, your English is gooder than most that post replies like that. You should be proud. Go Hillbillies!!
Like me said...you English not so good
he should mention to get the freon out/degas typically requires special equipment or skills.. and that people shouldn't vent that stuff to our air supply
As someone who is Epa certified, I second that motion.
my moms getting rid of her old fridge bc it doesnt work. i just came to see what the guy will make off of our old fridge.

He wants 15 dollars for providing you a service. Getting rid of your problem.
Where does that copper line go that was cut off from the compressor? Isn't there more copper inside that panel??
Wrong ,if aluminum transferred heat better it would be worth more, copper is king.

You left the real money under the Refrigerator.
what isit?
You sound like captain Binghamton of Mchale's navy.🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was called "the laziest way to get "well im not sure" "out of a fridge. This man works a home depot in the garden department.
Damn now I feel like a new all the fridges I left the radiator in face palm
No gloves. I can see you are very astute in saving your hands.
Four years ago in South Carolina, you could get $50.00 for that fridge without removing anything at all at the scrap places. I don't know what it's like now, cause I don't live there anymore.
Man dude left so much money he's not a real hustla
You should have pull the compressor and open it with angle grinder, there 2 Pounds copper inside.
Because at this one scrap yard we go to we get less for it when it's off. It's 9 cent a pound when off, I think and it's 11 cent a pound when on.
My local scrapper don't accept fridges.
that radiator looking thing is copper alum mix the copper is just tin coated
My yard pay 1 cent/pound for an untached fridge, if anything missing they take it only if we pay 4 cent/pound
I can’t knock the hustle but $26.50 for all that seems off.
HMMMMM
This man is a disaster 😂😂😂❤️👊
jannick+I've seen both types of heat sinks, though most are aluminum.
Also forgot to take off the small electric motor where the aluminium rad was. I clean the copper off those small motors only takes a few minutes.
Takes the scrap worth $26 and throws his glasses
my yard tells me just to throw it in the steel pile, they never give you any extra
Good money for the compressors
U would had more money if u take he compressor off hello
Did you even watch the video? He got a nice payday for a few minutes of work.
That's what I thought too while he's all happy and shit lol with his happy head ass lol...
You missed out on alot of copper that wraps around the cabinet of the refrigerator.
That refigerator is screaming
where you painting earlier?
you make scrapping fun
Copper in the motor. More down there. More Alum in back this guy is hopeless.
great vid guy.
What a goof ball
abespi36 😂😂😂😂❤️👊
You're a good scrapper
Depends on gas, R600a is allowed to be vented to atmosphere
Nice job scratching the paint on your truck
Who cares its a pickup truck if you are not going to use it as a pick up truck then get a mini van
u do know that if u break the pipes things on the back u will get a leakage of amoniac which is not very good;> so be careful when dealing with that stuff
I've found that a refrigerator like that can be sold to a used appliance salesman, especially the black ones for better than scrap price.
you are like a scrapping tornado, lol
Jeff Wolly 😂😂😂😂❤️👊👌
Aluminum is NOT a better conductive (heat or electricity) than copper, it's cheaper and lighter. Copper thermal conductivity is like 0.99 and aluminum is only half of than (0.5).
why did you not take the compressor
0ff?
the not so dapper scrapper
if you thing about it this guy sounds like a stev-o on helium
but why didnt you get all the copper out you lost money you could have gotten more than you did, you just left it in there man
wrong copper transfers heat better thats why computers use copper heat sinks and in water cooled computers its only copper never aluminum, learn before u speak
Computers use aluminum heat sinks, not copper. Learn before you speak.
+pacoblancosmith The high end computers and laptops actually use copper heatsinks, so you learn before you speak.
I troll trolls 😂😂😂
the fridge cant explode cutting through the power cable even cutting through the pipes it cant explode right i know im a idiot
grind open those compressors..theres much much copper there that's y they don't want you all to take them off =)
If he took it as is to my bone yard he would've got $30
Very noisy neighbour
wow congrats... i need to get myself a pickup... my 2 door car aint cutting it
I wonder what electric motors sold for and how the scrap yard laughs at a guy whole sells sealed units for shred
I guess he didn't want the evap fan motor.
That fucking me ! Hahahahahahahha when he was throwing that shit in hahahahaha
thank you for helping me see how worthless all the work was in what you did. thats horrible money i felt bad for you. just totally changed my mind on the whole scrap metal thing. back to driving i go....good luck to you great video thx
Gfys
Now what all items has radiators in them???????
so what do you get in money for scrapping a fridge?
Richard Cowtails
around $15-$20. depending on how much they weigh and what you can get out of them.
Leaves small fan with copper in it
you are a warrior.
how an idiot scraps a fridge. if you take the time to unscrew with a drill you can sell the parts. these kind of people are low profit and not very intelligent.
how come u never took the sealed unit off u get money for that 2
$26 bucks!!! Pretty good, I heard todays standards only pays like $1, is that right??
This guy makes crosses for losses
Jake B 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️👊
That's one way of doing it. Thanks for sharing.
This guy is mad
This is a great video, i am glad you did one and nothing else, It's easy to see what's up that way. so what i will do is not go in till I have 4 or more. that way gas does not eat up my pay. 100 bucks is a 100 BUCKS! LOL Thanks man!

Forgot the compressor
so the frig costs 22 bux thats good money
Thy try to change factory made this days with luminum
What are you smoking
Nice work! Will definitely be on the look out for them
210lb of steel?.. isn't that abit heavy for a fridge..
the guy was probably over calculating. the fridge is only about 30-40ish pounds of steel.
'yee haw, go make some money!' I love it haha
where was Freon
i only take out can compressor, copper and wire .save me time and mess.
It's like this guy actively avoids knowledge.
I love you
u should see the copper in that compressors..sale the compressor and motors at peak season..crimp off they have more lb with oil in them..
Poorest audio
O que esse doido tá fazendo com isso????
Quagmire 😂
