Beautiful, not just the damper but your NAN for sharing. The cast iron pan damper is the better option in my opinion then any other, simple and straight forward as damper should be.
Lovely thanks. My old dad used to make beautiful damper and I haven't had it for many years . Now i will teach my grandkids ...they're living in te bush now. :)) Do some more videos . Love it :)
Watching from Cornwall UK .lived in Australia for many years Your country is beautiful. Thankyou for sharing your story and recipe . Love from Cornwall 🥰❤
I’m from Texas and we use less water and 1/4 Cup of buttermilk the roll the dough into smaller balls put in a skillet and gently pat them down on the tops and bake at 425 degrees for around 12-14 minutes…..then you have buttermilk biscuits! They are great with cream gravy and sausage mixed into the gravy. 👍🏻❤️
in the heat of Australia, milk would last half a heartbeat outside of a fridge. Some folks use powdered milk out bush. However Gran is right in this one, you have to have jam or golden syrup with damper.
There's a lot of different ways of making damper and different recipes on making this damper bread ! Yes we in Australia use butter milk, and normal milk too with or without milk so many different types of recipes done here in Australia 🇦🇺 too, everyone has their own recipe on it thanks 😊
The fact you put a frying pan on a steel plate instead of directly into the coals shows your MILES out of touch with bush living. Having no camp oven was kinda astounding tbh...
Aww your grandma is so lovely and thankyou for sharing your recipe ❤

Too deadly! The only vid I’ve seen of how my nanna used to make it, with no butter. ❤
now i feel hungry, but i don't have any golden syrup, so i'll wait till the morrow. 😉🤣
WOW your nana looks young !!😊
Interesting cooking outdoor, yummy food, thanks for sharing
No need to nead the damper you need the air inside to make it fluffy You can also make a hole in the middle for the golden syrup or even add sultanas
