    I can’t help but feel like climbing Everest is not only putting yourself in danger, but also the people who carry the task of coming to rescue you if things go south.

      For the most part I understand there is a good chance you will be left to die on your own. Sherpas put their own lives at risk to carry you down. This is what I have gathered from Everest documentaries.

    Since 21,000 feet is about the max a heli can go, it's ridiculous to try to get tp 25,000' to save anyone when you are risking yourself. New Zealand's Laing is a great pilot, but he also knows the limits. (The thinner the air, the less power (lift) to your aircraft.) Listen to that climber -- he has HAPE! (High altitude pulmonary edema -- swelling in the lungs, fluid in them also -- he's lucky Laing could get to him, saving his miserable life!)
    Thousands have "climbed Mt. Everest" but very few have summited. And MANY have had to be rescued, jeopardizing the life of the pilots and other responders who valiantly try and do save them.

  • @sophiawilliums833
    @sophiawilliums833 6 років тому

    Why don’t they have helicopter stations on mt. Everest so that way if someone gets stuck or injure themselves it wouldn’t take nearly as long to try and find them like omg. And has anyone seen the movie called Everest it’s exactly like this except more people get stuck or trapped or injured whatever and there’s another movie (forgot what it’s called) but it’s like Everest but with explosives to try and save people, because an avalanche knocked them into a hole and they got trapped in there

So yes, the guys that are in the business of rescuing people from Everest should invest in a better helicopter (supercharged and higher blade angle geometry) instead of making up excuses on how the can't fly to camp 4.

    It is difficult to comprehend why some people wish to climb Mt. Everest at all, especially if they are "iffy" and are just stroking their own egos (which many are). There are far more difficult mountains to climb, both technically and strategically. The greater percentage of people who climb Mt. Everest have no business even being ON the mountain!
    To the knowledgeable, risking HAPE and HACE up there should make people avoid the mountain but it doesn't. Are THAT MANY people really stupid enough to think they can summit without alpinist experience and being SURE they can acclimate themselves ENOUGH to be able to climb without risk? Obviously not.
    This year (2019) is a bit different because money-hungry Nepal issued too many climbing permits, causing a horrible traffic jam at the top, so that real alpinists who had made the summit and were descending, could not get around them, were delayed in moving (which causes you to lose bodily heat) and they also ran out of oxygen in the delay and died! Is it really worth dying for? NO! I don't think people really want to die, but their brain becomes addled due to hypoxia, they get summit fever, and just don't care. Then they die. Sure, people will say "he/she died doing what they loved" because it makes THEM feel better. But they probably gave up many more years of what could have been an even better life!

    • @GeoJesse
      @GeoJesse 6 років тому +2

      just acclimatize. there is a reason why it takes them six months sometimes. the climbers get to nepal and have to stay there for a while so their body can adjust. ive ascended too quickly before (it was at 11k feet so not as impressive, but i got a sample of what it is like) and i was out of breath every four or so steps but after two days (keep in mind this is over half the altitude and not freezing) i could tell a HUGE difference in how much easier it is to breathe. it just takes time. there may be other things you can do i am not aware of but the most helpful thing is just start living at that altitude and live there a couple months and your body will adjust and learn to deal with the thinner air

    So when somebody was about to die on Everest , the news gets 300,000 views, but when a climber dies, it is very possible that nobody will know that it happened.

    I have lot of respect 🙏for the Sherpas they risk there lives year in year out to give people there dreams people who have no experience should not be allowed to climb they should have experience first of little mountains 🏔 then work there way up to doing this other wise more and more lives will be wasted god bless all of you Sherpas and every time you climb 🙏
