Wonderful video.... thank you for uploading, living in Alaska and having so many Volcanoes here. I wish closer ones was more active just to see this, we do hold the record for the biggest eruption in the Northern Hemisphere. Katmai Volcano did it....love that Volcano
a wonderful video, especially the night part. Amazing how beautiful distruction can be. Only to bad you ruined a perfect video with all that writing all over it.
@@ysteinLundAndersen Krakatoa blew itself up. Anak Krakatoa means son of Krakatoa. Thought they are of the same volcanic system they are different island volcanoes. They are considered geologically and geographically separate entities.
First of all its not Krakatoa (thats a mispelling, its Krakatau. Secondly its not 'Son of Krakatoa', its 'Child of Krakatau'. (Anak is Child in the Indonesian language.) And yes Anak-krakatau is a new island, but still part the Krakatau volcano. 😀
Yes. I believe you're right because there are three. Which is the worst one? I I watched a documentary about all three once & I thought they said the smallest one could be the worst one because of being the smallest cone?
Yes I totally agree, your comment does have a sense of humor, however, at the same time it represents how the human attention and priorities are stupidly out of place. Be well Max
This how how krakatau and all volcanoes grow in size, they erupt. For now its only minor activity, as seen in the video, compared to the activity seen during the major 1883 eruption
@@ysteinLundAndersen Oh I agree, and I love the video. This activity might be what the volcano was doing during it's low level period during the summer of '83 before it went completely berserk. Were you feeling any movement in the ground during this activity?
@@roberthale8407 felt no ground movement, however would probably felt it if I had landed on the island itself. But its a small island, Anak-krakatau, so some felt tremor in relation to the eruption is very common.
The earth rotates on its axis. The sun's gravity mixes the inner layers of the Earth like a concrete mixer truck. High pressure and temperature releases magma from volcanoes like from valves.
The footage was recorded around 4km from the Volcano. 2km is the current danger zone recommended by Indonesian Authorities, visitors are prohibited to enter this zone - for obvious reasons :)
Amazing footage! Thanks so much for uploading.

Nature’s most awesome fireworks show! Love the night shots!!
It's better to get the pressure out in small eruptions than one big one!
Yes. It's when it stops erupting that those nearby should be concerned.
@@ericsmith8373 it hasn't erupted since 2020
Absolutely fascinating.
Calling this an active volcano is an understatement. Anak Krakatau has grown much larger just since I first heard about it some 40+ years ago.
Great video that is even more interesting now that half of Anak Krakatau has disappeared.
Verry lucky to see Anak Krakatau before the collaped cone! Amazing video!
amazing footage!
Krakatau self destructed in August 1883, the current volcanonis ANAK Krakatau.

I remember Mount St. Helens blowing off wow this is cool
Great video!
Someone is audibly urinating at the 12:20 mark.
Good observation 😅. But I cannot confirm if its correct or not. Considering we were sitting only few meters from the camera I kind if doubt it..
While watching the whole video is mesmerizing 8:22 is when the show really takes a turn.
The sounds resemble that of thunder from positive lightning.
Natures number one fireworks display
need more signs and labels on the video, could still see the volcano, do better next time huh.
Yeah, wish I could post without. But videos are being ripped from youtube and used without permission so that why its there
very beautiful
And now, anak krakatau has gone. He just erupted few months ago and causing tsunami. Anak krakatau has destroyed his entire body for the 2nd time
The pic oppertunities are endless when it comes nature
Incredible

I don't think this is Krakatoa, but rather Anak Krakatoa.
Anak-krakatau is just another cone of the "mother" krakatau. So its considered one volcano.

In the meanwhile... the media is busy reporting to us the Kardashian's latest bra color.
Max Steiner, yeah I know. here it is November 2018 and I'm just now seeing that it erupted back in August.
Yes I totally agree, your comment does have a sense of humor, however, at the same time it represents how the human attention and priorities are stupidly out of place. Be well Max
Magmanificent!
No eruption yet, the entire island is sitting on the mouth of Krakatau.
If you read about the 1883 eruption this is what the volcano did between May and August of 1883 before blowing it's self up completely

Thought so, from the interval between seeing & hearing a burst, @~7 sec/mi. My guess was 2.5 mi.
wOw
There she blows!
Someone please be sure to contact Al Gore about this so he can write a paper on how global warming is causing volcanos to erupt.
Mebbe we can just use him as a stopper.....
Can we do better than petty political crap? Ad hominem attacks bespeak ignorance. FWIW
Jacques Blaque No actually you can’t do better, especially when its Al Gore.
