Hey Tom, thanks, glad you like it - yes, a few Carulli-esque moments in there, eh? Hope tou're both keeping well and I'm looking forward to some happy news soon
I'm Just in aw of your playing.I know I'll never reach your level, yet your feel and inspiration encourages me to keep creating..Thank you infinitely and profoundly...Your membership should be up in the millions..As with all else....No one else I've heard comes close from the heart as you do...Thank you once again..
"It's fair to say it took some arranging" - that's an understatement Shaun ! Amazing ! I'd happily order the tab but I just don't have enough years left to learn it !
Absolutely stunning arrangement and performance Shawn. Good show! Loved the bicycle bells! Only you Shaun could pull off that tune on classical guitar! So impressive! Stay safe and thank you for the music. Cheers!
Thanks a lot Colin - yes, it does lend itself to the Classical guitar style I think, you can hear Freddie's Classical training coming out in a lot of Queen songs
@@ironmonger100 Hi Shaun, just didn't find more words at first :D Just want to say that enclosing this entire song in once single arrangement for one single guitar played with only two hands and then recording it all in one take is AMAZING! Thank you for your videos and beautiful renditions of great songs!
That's so kind Scott, thank you - thesedays it's hard to find a song to arrange that hasn't been done already, so although it was a bit of a mission to arrange this one I'm pleased how it worked out. I really appreciate that and I hope you're getting on okay
@@ironmonger100 That's very true! what do you look for in a song that makes you decide you want to arrange it for solo guitar? With me, I have to really REALLY connect with it, it has to move me emotionally, and it needs to be guitar friendly. All those elements need to exist in order for me to create a decent arrangement.
@@ScottOuelletteGuitar Hey Scott, you're right of course, there are a number of boxes to be ticked, the guitar-friendly one sometimes needs a bit of work or a bit of experimentation getting it into the right key, that sometimes is more difficult than you anticipate. This may surprise you but I don't always have to have a connection with the song. I never particularly felt blown away by Bicycle Race, for example, but all those key changes and time signature changes represented a challenge. There are other songs that I never knew that people asked me to arrange, such as Look What You've Done by |Boz Scaggs. Yet many of my favourite songs I've never arranged at all. I guess our minds all work differently when it comes to arranging, and why we do it. And if you take Betcha by golly wow, which I just did, it's just such a delightful progression
@@ironmonger100 That's very interesting! Thank you for sharing that. I would never have guessed! I wish I could do it your way, but it's just not in me, but I'm impressed that you can. I mean, I guess I could do it if I decided to, but I leave it up to my gut feeling. My next arrangement is one I did years ago, it's "Songbird" by Fleetwood Mac/Christine McVie. I'm rehearsing it as we speak. After that will be "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan. Great to see your videos, you're still the best!
@@ScottOuelletteGuitar I'm looking forward to these Scott, particularly Arms of the Angel. My next one is likely to be Movin' Out by Billy Joel, I can't resist '70s songs man ;-)
Wow! Scary good. Somehow I missed this months ago --Maestro. As expressed in another comment, I would buy the score if I had enough years left to get good enough to make use of it.
I love the mixture of styles similar to the song. Virtuoso! This is a great song about just wanting life to be simple and forgetting about the problems of the world via a magical ride on your bicycle. Something most of us can do, Wuhan Virus or not.
Thanks so much Dean, I'm pleased you like it and how great to see that you have a channel up and running, it'd be good to see some of your work. I hope life is treating you and your family well in these difficult times, are you coping okay? Life has been difficult here I guess, but it's the same for everybody. I suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in February rendering me unable to walk or drive, so the lockdown hasn't made too much of a difference in that respect, I couldn't have done my gigs. I could just about have taught in my schools but they all closed, and the age groups I work with aren't reuming until September. I've been doing some Skype lessons however, although I'm not a fan. It has to be said that our government is helping us very well with financial support for those whose income has suffered. Take care my friend.
That was great rendition!!! You gave a beautiful classical feel thank you!!! Really enjoyed that ...do you think you could cover ChansonD'Amore... its a great tune by Manhaton transfer .
Thanks so much, glad you loiked it. Ah, Manhattan Transfer, they were brilliant, weren't they? And that's a great suggestion, I'll play around with it :-)
Thanks for watching and I'm pleased you like my stuff :-) ... I can only humbly point you in the direction of my website shaunmurray co uk where transcriptions of all my vids are available
Hey , my ole friend! You done good! I really like this interpretation. I like the energy and the brisk movement. After all these years, I suddenly realized that your huge hands make this classical guitar look almost too small! What do you watch on TV over there? Just curious. We get a lot of British shows on Public Broadcasting in the USA. I like "Father Brown", "Midsomer Murders", "Keeping up Appearances"; are y'all tied down like us due to C-19?
Coolest capo change ever!
Haha, thanks David, I just about made it! 🙂
You make it sound like it was written for Guitar - incredible arrangement 👏👏👏

Yours, sir, is a superior intelligence, sensibility and generosity. This is highly nurturing, a blessing, thank you.

I like that quick capo removal! ;)

Shaun your arrangements are some of the best I’ve ever heard! True passion.

ironmonger100 I have a request.
Nobody Home - Pink Floyd
@@Monk4570 Thanks Cody, I haven't done any Pink Floyd so I should look at that

Hey Todd, thanks so much, glad you like it. Btw, Ashleigh received her email yesterday confirming permanent residence, she's so happy.
Bowled over! And thanks for this worthy substitution for Tour de France this year🚴🚴🚴
Thank you Finn! It hadn't occurred to me about the TdF but, hey, yes.. :-) Hope you and Lena are safe and well
Virtuosic! The intro reminded me of Albeniz; live your work and your humbleness.

Mr. Murray! I absolutely love your Queen arrangements, so clean and beautiful! thanks for sharing

I’ve never seen anyone remove a capo in the middle of a song. Superb playing as always
Haha, thanks for that David - yes the capo thing is a first for me but it was the only way!
Very nice! Bravo!
Thanks Steven :-)
