So it's 2024 and for me it's time for a new bike. So for the past 2 years I've been searching and waiting for the perfect bike (for me) and this is the one. Used 2018 ATAS is about 8-9-10k€ with anywhere form 30k to 70k km on them. Honestly for this bike and the reliability, it's worth every penny.
Having watched this review and the review of the DCT version... I went out and bought a new 2019 Adventure sport DCT. My first new bike, living in australia I commute on it every day and have toured on it 2up all within the first 4 weeks.. The DCT is brilliant the bike is a head Turner and such a pleasure to ride in the dry dusty conditions here.... heading to Uluru at Easter for 2 weeks and 7,000klm. These review are spott on... thanks and keep up the great work.
I went to blade in Abingdon and test rode the DCT version of this bike, now I’m saving for a deposit....Absolute joy to ride and the DCT works really really well.
I tested this bike based on this review and ended up buying it! You were spot on with your review as always, thanks for bringing this amazing machine to my attention! Keep up the good work mate.
Great Review as usual, I've put 16000 miles on 2017 DCT so far and still stand by my claim that that of all the bikes I've owned it is the best for the job I use it for, 95% perfect 95% of the time..
I did say 95% perfect.... 5 things I hate.... 1. The spokes are pants, i'm on my second set of rims and they are minging now, I gave up and had a set made in stainless and re-laced the rims (with funky red alloy nipples) I think the 2018 has stainless now.... 2. The traction control is way too sensitive, on its lowest setting it can still interfere if you nail it from the lights (even in the dry), again I think the 2018 has 7 positions..... 3. The speedo (and therefore odometer) over reads by 10% this can only be deliberate act to generate revenue, I have fitted a 15 tooth front sprocket and a speedo healer..... 4. The outside temperature reads 2 degrees high..... why ?. 5. A lot of the fasteners are corroding a bit, I don't expect this from Honda on a premium priced product.... All quite petty (but unecessary).... still love hooning around on a big motocross bike..
It's got a brap to the exhaust note... My buddy says it's too loud as he has a triumph 955i tiger with a stock muffler.. ..i say too Fu€kin bad. Triumph recommends Arrow brand exhaust but d.j. can make Lincoln cry pinching pennies for last 12 years as rides the triumph
Just test rode an AT 2016, new GS1200 and KTM 1090 S and I agree that the AT is probably the best value for money. People need to add overall COO (Cost of ownership) including parts and accessories which all add up. With the money saved you can buy tubeless rims if it's a concern and still have plenty left for actually going on a long trip. But yes, the GS is amazing.
Great review, being a Honda fan and an 2016 Africa Twin dct owner I just love these bikes together with the performance and sound of this engine. If you can’t afford the new price then the earlier 2016/7 bikes are coming on the used market at attractive prices and are just as much fun and it’s still the same power engine in them.
Kind of surprised that no cruise control on a bike that will be used mostly for touring. Seems like a big omission but then again maybe the plan is to add it to next years model. Beautiful motorcycle, love the color!
I love that engine sound! My other bike is a Triumph Street Twin and the sound just makes me smile. I am looking for an upgrade for my BMW F650GS and this is a contender.
I’ve always had sports bikes and fast nakeds, adventure bikes have always been off the radar for me but a friend told me to ride one which I did yesterday (this bike) and was blown away. The way the roads and limits are now this makes perfect sense for me..... and going away. Such a fun bike ✌️
I'm 5'8 too and today I had a go at this bike with the standard seat on its high position (stupid me) and it was the tallest bike I've ever ridden. Scary stuff. Apart from that, I loved the engine, the geometry and overall quality of build. Top choice at this price and holding value well in the UK. Secondhand ones still going for big money. If you like that you'll love the Guzzi Stelvio too for £7K ish... if you can live with its quirky looks! which I can. *you should do a video about the second-hand market. Super cool subject as you can get so much for your cash lately!
I have a 2017 manual AT, I like it a lot. There are 2 things that will determine whether I trade up to a 2020. Cruise control and cruise control, otherwise I'll keep the 2017. Something less important but comforting, tubeless tires. 1.) There's more selection 2.) A slow leak or a simple plug won't ruin an otherwise great day.
Glad to see you out on the manual version, I road tested the previous Africa Twin DCT and thought it was a bit to Tourer for me, Brilliant for two up and luggage!
Nice favourable review! I'm currently looking at getting on of these that is a 2016 model with in my opinion very low mileage at 15,200KM. I rode one a couple years ago for about one hundred km and loved it. 🇨🇦
Test rode one the other week. Fantastic machine. I’m very tempted. Finally may have found the bike to replace my blackbird. I’m 5’6” on a good day, with a 27” inside leg; and had no issues with the low seat fitted. The screen on the other hand caused a lot of buffeting. Easily fixed with a shorter screen no doubt.
I’m on my restricted licence here in Australia, I’m riding a 2018 Versys 650, but watching this I’m really loving this bike! Can’t wait to get off restrictions and get one of these bad boys!
Hello TMF. Bought myself one og theese today. Watched this video before I made the decition. Really looking fwd to picking it up next thursday. Thanks for a great review!
04:25 Oh stop it with the Honda horn position lol. Most of us have grown to like it actually! I prefer it to where it is and wish my other bikes are the same now. 06:30 Mirrors seem to be same items as the ones on our little CRF’s.
Why is it when I try to comment to the comments of you tube commentary people all I get is one choice to report them for abuse and no "reply" choice to choose from?
I have had the bike now for three days and no time yet to leave town for a ride into the surrounding country back roads as we have 1000's of miles in all directions. So far I have just over 100 miles on the odometer of stop and go city traffic lights and stop signs with the wheel of fire icon on the dashboard flashing at me constantly and continues to cause the engine to misfire. This happens now all the time with the front wheel off the pavement at about two inches or so with the sound of a rubber tire squeeling as my back tire tries to spin as the bike is trying to wheelie over but the traction control as described comes default setting at maximum and will not allow the bike to do anything illegal except breaking all speed limits. So on a few side streets I have registered so far up 104 on the digital speedometer read out in miles per hour ...and as hard as it is not to jump up this second grab the keys and go for another burst around the block, I guess I must open the owners manual to learn how to turn off all the buttons that is forcing it to go slow
So, Mr. Flyer, you just made me buy this bike. Why? 4:13 I was really struggling to decide between the new GS850 and AT. My heart said AT, my head (obviously) said 'take ze German'. But this quote made me make up my mind. Thank you for that kind sir!
I just got one yesterday.. The top of the windshield is directly in my line of sight so I just now ordered a short tented demon face windshield from moose racing made in usa
The 2020 has been given a total facelift with fullish fairing and screen, cruise control, 1100cc engine now, et..etc.. I’m looking at Touring Bike purchase this spring and now this bike is one more I have to consider. Damn!🤣
I test rode one last week, lovely bike I was amazed how you build speed without noticing it the wind protection is much better than the standard model. Two little niggles I found are no cruise control like you said which is a shame and the button for the heated grips is realy small and hard to push with thick gloves. Brilliant review once again TMF, take care :)
Picked mine up on Friday and rode to Switzerland yesterday. It’s fabulous. It’s a lot more comfortable than my old one, seat is substantially kinder on the arse. The higher bars make a big difference too, either standing up or sat down. I was expecting trouble from my hip (arthritis courtesy of Gixxer thou accident a few years back) with the bigger tank but somehow the higher seat and tank made it much more comfy. Go figure. I had an Akropovic can on my old one but this one sounds better with the stock system. It’s a lovely waffly noise. If anything a bit intrusive after an hour or two rattling through France. Negatives? It’s a big beast, I’m 6’3 and with the panniers it’s quite a job to get your leg over. That said, the extra height makes it all day comfortable for me which the old one wasn’t. I’m taking it into the Black Forest this week to see how it handles the twisties but so far, I love it. And it looks simply magnificent.
I'd love to have a test on one of these. I have test rode the 2017 AT and thought that was a superb bike and even being 6ft tall it felt a very tall bike! Keep the awesome videos coming TMF!
A great review as usual , TMF.....thanks. I hear a certain vacancy has just come up at the BBC regarding vehicular fun and games.....you ought to apply!
It’s hey kids because the flyer is a friendly, happy, personable, biker and blogger that’s living the dream. Unlike you I guess, might be time to lighten up and smell the coffee so to speak.
Great review as always, and I think you have helped me make up my mind and potentially go for one of these, currently have a 7 year old Z1000SX so will look to part-x at my local Honda dealer, cheers..
Great review TMF. Thank you. What an awesome bike for chewing up some serious miles. It’s not cheap, but it looks like a lot of bike for the money, and something you could have a lot of fun on.
I'm glad to see Honda is continuing to improve the AT, it's a great platform. They added a larger tank, which is very necessary. Shocks dive too much, and not the only one to say so. I heard they were going to offer better suspension and other goodies as an option.
I brought the 2017 DCT thanks too....my mate at "Big bike adventures"...in Auzzzz....and also thanks to U......Flyer!. But was a bit down when Honda showed the new 2018 model!..oh well that's life but although some day I might get a GSA lol....the AT takes some beating as a great all rounder and that DCT gearbox is world class!...0-60 in 3.2
Glad you enjoyed the big Honda. For me it would have to be the DCT version as after 35 years of commercial driving my days of playing tunes on gearboxes are over. How does low down pulling power compare to your GS? On a different note ,you should get together with old Teapotone and try out each machines to see what difference rider size makes.
TMF, I'm hoping you're working your contacts to get your hands on the new 2020 Honda Africa Twin CRf1000 adventure sport with the updated engine, ES adjustable suspension and all the other electronics goodies. Honda finally added cruise control, spoked tubeless tires and lower seat options for those of vertically challenged. Finally a serious Japanese competitor to the likes of R1250GS, KTM & Multstrada. Keep up the good work!
I don't know if it is commonplace for squishy front ends diving on Hondas, but I resolved the much of the problem on mine by using a slightly heavier grade of fork oil. If this bike can manage 310 miles on a tank full, it's a real plus point for touring. However, that massive silencer and its position could be a problem for mounting the right side pannier. Tubed tyres have the advantage of a roadside repair that's permanent, rather than a temporary job you could do on a tubeless. I've had one bike with a gear indicator but have never really considered them more than a gimmick. Overall a lovely bike, but an electronically adjustable screen would be nice. Wouldn't cost a lot to modify what's there with a 12V stepper motor and gears, but it should be an optional extra at least. Great review as ever.
6'0,tall ,220lbs., just some suspension adjustments, and loaded with gead does just fine ! But , if you're not a very experienced rider , you're going to have handling issues on any bike ! 2016 DCT , NO CRUISE CONTROL!!
The after market will fill the void of missing cruise control and adjustable wind screen. Honda has taken the less is more philosophy with the Africa Twin and they have a winning combination!
TMF... excellent review... makes very clear for me for what to chose berween a tiger 1200 and an africa twin.... wish we had the adventure sport version in india....
If it came in a plain colour I could be tempted, before my GS I had several Hondas, great build quality...very reliable. Hardly ever use cruise control so not an issue..
Thanks for the great review. Looking to test ride one if these and helps that I know all the roads you are riding on. Not wrong when you say it is some of the worst potholes in the country!!!!
@TheMissendenFlyer TheMissendenFlyer I’ve recently bought the 2018 DCT version and because I’m 1.75 metres tall (5’9”) I had the mid height seat fitted. I’ve been plagued with wind turbulence from anything above 50 mph. At 64 mph my vision becomes blurred. I’ve tried adding the Honda wind deflectors from the accessories catalogue, an air dam from RuggedRoads, a Puig aerofoil for use on the standard screen and finally an aftermarket Givi Airflow screen. After all those mods I’m still struggling with wind turbulence and the only thing that alleviates the wind turbulence is if I stand up a couple of inches. I’ve noted that if I remove the top of the Givi Airflow screen it reduces the wind turbulence and my vision blurs at higher speeds (approximately indicated 74 mph motorway speeds). I’ve contacted Honda and asked for help as I’m unsure what to try next as I enjoy all other aspects of the bike. I’m aware there are many people online who are suffering the same wind turbulence issue and have fitted smaller sport screens to alleviate the problem. During my telephone conversation with a Honda customer support representative, they claimed that Honda are unaware of anyone else suffering with wind turbulence on the Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports (standard response I expect so as not to tarnish the good name of Honda). Edit: I ride with an Arai Quantum ST full face helmet in case anyone wonders if it’s a peak of a motocross helmet causing the headshake/blurred vision. Has anyone been able to cure the wind turbulence issue faced by us “shorties”? Any help greatly appreciated.
TheMissendenFlyer I’ve read about the MRA Vario Screen (on online adventure bike forums), but because I’ve already spent close to £300 on trying to remedy the turbulence, I’m loathe to spend any more until Honda get back to me. I swapped bikes with my mate this weekend (he’s a couple inches taller than me) and he could also feel the wind turbulence. I wonder if it only affects a select few Africa Twins?
bloody hell I nearly missed this vid. Everyone seems to like these. I'm a bit indifferent to the looks but I could actually see myself with one. Purrs lovely.
Excellent review TMF. If I hadn,t just bought a new GSA this would have been the front runner. Particularly like the 24 Litre fuel tank. Maybe when the warranty expires on the GS I will go back to Honda. Its the first Honda Ive fancied since I bought a new Blackbird in 2005.
Thanks TMF for your great review. I pretty much concur after riding a demo last week. I was a so impressed I bought one today. With a sunny day I did find the rev counter difficult to see, to the point I had to take my eyes off the road to find it on the screen. But for my Kind of riding I’m not sure how important the rev counter really is anyway. Rarely do I get close to red line. When these bikes first came out they were hard to find, now it seems Honda has a surplus inventory of them and are cutting prices on unsold models.
Beutiful colors...seen a aussi gravel test and he said it was better then the 17mod with upgrade suspension that he owned. Yeah that indicator/horn setup make you honk more then you wish:)) Still on my wish list... Nice review
Similar to the point you made with the gs, owned by dentist - now applies to the africa twin, loads are buying them but rarely used to full its potential.
always a little nervous listening to reviews about the africa twin as so many people try to compare to the BMW GSA. very nice review and which i believe was very honest. i liked the original africa twin but was torn by the GSA. i held off to see what would come next and glad i did.
Great review as always, I mentioned in a previous vlog the manufacturers need to start thinking about supplying specific kits for us vertically challenged , marking the forks so you know the geometry is correct . So no guessing as factory approved settings .
Sounds great, I must test one. However I took. ktm 1090 out yesterday from those great guys at the Ktm centre in Hemel Hempstead and have to admit to being deeply in love. At present my absolute favourite ( tried GS & 1290), I will give it a go but I feel that at present the 1090 has stolen my heart!
Exact same bike I have. Not the most comfortable bike I've owned for long distances though. The seat turns into Satan on long trips, tormenting your ass until you stop and rest, and I'm getting "pins and needles" in my hands after about a half day of riding (hands go numb). Saw someone theorize that it's because of the heated grips, and that the standard version doesn't have this problem. If I ever go on a proper tour on mine, I'll have to try and reduce the vibrations somehow. Other than that - great bike. Love the sound, it's fast enough for an offroader, you get Honda reliability and high service intervals on a bike you can rip around on light to medium trails while also being able to tackle long tarmac stretches. If you're very careful with the throttle, I've seen the average consumption go as low as 0,35L / 10 km. That's almost half of what my previous bike typically used (2017 Z1000SX). To top it off, it looks good for an ADV bike.
Oh yeah, and the seat can be fixed with an AirHawk or equivalent. But it will make the seat height even taller. I haven't seen an aftermarket seat in the right colors yet for this bike. Hopefully someone will make one.
I was quite surprised to see you riding this, TMF, given that other reviewers made a point of the incredible seat height, but, just like the KTM 1090, I see you managed to snag a rideable one for people that aren't 2 metres tall.
Thanks for video 👍 of my dream machine, she sounds absolutely beautiful and I can not wait own one, just a beautiful machine al be watching this video, probably a number of times 😃 epic riding to you good sir.
Test rode the DCT & bought a manual. Even in Sport mode it changed up too soon & total lack of involvement when riding. OK on a Goldwing but not on an AT.
Can't wait till you test-ride the 2020. I tried to order a hoodie but unfortunately they don't ship to the USA. I will need too pick one up when I'm in Europe.
If you start a world around tour, (let's say over 100K km, %80 tarmac road, % 20 off road) which one do you prefer and why? Africa Twin or Africa Twin Adventure Sport.

Jassima Nasima I totally agree as own both gs and the 2019 af

I appreciate that!
Certainly the most enjoyable bike I have ever ridden. Thanks for the review.
You're welcome....

Yes you’re probably right!
PistolPete63 huge omission. Lame
I use Go Cruise on my Honda to lock the throttle. Works great.
I love that engine sound! My other bike is a Triumph Street Twin and the sound just makes me smile. I am looking for an upgrade for my BMW F650GS and this is a contender.

Cheers MF, another great review, too late for me though, sold the GSA and bought one of these a few months back and am very happy indeed.
Gorgeous bike, I just picked up a 2018 R1 and I’m looking into this as a secondary and more comfortable bike.
It really is a nice ride - give one a go!
If I was in market for a bike of that class, I would look very hard at that one. Love the look. Well done Honda!
Thanks for the comment and I completely agree! All the best - TMF
Great video TMF. I do really love this bike (and the original version) love the HRC colours too and the gold wheels.
Cheers
Thanks for watching Richard...
TheMissendenFlyer no probs TMF. Thanks for keeping entertained over the last few years 👍👍

Glad I could help!
Lovely looking machine, sounds great too, can’t beat an old classic
Rides really well too James, nice machine, really impressed with this one....
Hello TMF. Bought myself one og theese today. Watched this video before I made the decition. Really looking fwd to picking it up next thursday. Thanks for a great review!
Another great review TMF, that bike looks very well put together.
Next month I'm going to buy it. Thank you for such a good review!

stephen spiteri l agree its a better set-up !
That is worth knowing...thanks, hopefully I may get used to it too (if I take the plunge), very tempting
What a sound!! Looks terrific too! Consider me a convert - weren't ever really on my radar till now.
Nor mine Rob!
I've always admired the AT but having now heard the exhaust note I'm smitten. Thanks for the excellent review, TMF 👍
Thanks for watching!
i bought one 2 months ago....traded in the vstrom 1000. Over the moon with it tho it has its flaws as all bikes do.....
You prefer to the V-Strom and what year was your Strom? Enjoy the AT, lovely bike.
Great review, when are Honda ever going to learn to add cruise control?
Thanks TMF

Nice review! I’m absolutely loving my 2017 DCT! It has taken me on many great tours through the mountains of Japan.
Nice!
So, Mr. Flyer, you just made me buy this bike. Why? 4:13
I was really struggling to decide between the new GS850 and AT. My heart said AT, my head (obviously) said 'take ze German'. But this quote made me make up my mind. Thank you for that kind sir!
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
Fantastic review TMF. Can tell by the tone of your voice you fell in love with this one a bit 😍
Was it that obvious?
TheMissendenFlyer Afraid so, and your not alone just listen to that exhaust note 😍

Watched William Gloege a US Vlogger, he freighted bike here then down to Cape Town great viewing. Bikes are quality for sure.
...exactly, these slightly smaller/lighter adventure bikes hit the sweet spot don't they...
i am also 5.8'. The low cut seat was a life saver - totally comfortable now
I'd love to have a test on one of these. I have test rode the 2017 AT and thought that was a superb bike and even being 6ft tall it felt a very tall bike! Keep the awesome videos coming TMF!
Will do!
A great review as usual , TMF.....thanks.
I hear a certain vacancy has just come up at the BBC regarding vehicular fun and games.....you ought to apply!
Hehe, wouldn't that be somethin'!
Another Top notch review I am looking at that bike for my next one thanks tmf
You are welcome as ever Jack....lovely bike!
Great review TMF. Thank you. What an awesome bike for chewing up some serious miles. It’s not cheap, but it looks like a lot of bike for the money, and something you could have a lot of fun on.
Completely agree - thanks for watching!
But was a bit down when Honda showed the new 2018 model!..oh well that's life but although some day I might get a GSA lol....the AT takes some beating as a great all rounder and that DCT gearbox is world class!...0-60 in 3.2
Thanks for watching and for stopping by! All the best - TMF
Top review, my current dream bike.
Glad you enjoyed the big Honda. For me it would have to be the DCT version as after 35 years of commercial driving my days of playing tunes on gearboxes are over. How does low down pulling power compare to your GS? On a different note ,you should get together with old Teapotone and try out each machines to see what difference rider size makes.
after 1 year the bike reminds me more and more at a rocking horse
This is a bike I have to try. I love the look of it. I stood next to one the other week and felt so small next to it and im 6" tall
You'd be fine on it...
A Honda with character! I like it. But why don't they put tubeless spoke rims on and a centre stand?
splodge 57 if you buy new from a decent dealer just ask for a stand to be thrown in with the deal. It only costs them £150 & I got it no problem.
Hey TMF! Doing some historic research to replace my Tracer 700 and I think you've nailed my choice for me!!
Cool!
Fantastic Review - really nice format - thanks
You’re welcome - thanks for watching and for stopping by!
The after market will fill the void of missing cruise control and adjustable wind screen. Honda has taken the less is more philosophy with the Africa Twin and they have a winning combination!
You may well be right!
TMF... excellent review... makes very clear for me for what to chose berween a tiger 1200 and an africa twin.... wish we had the adventure sport version in india....
Thanks for watching!
If it came in a plain colour I could be tempted, before my GS I had several Hondas, great build quality...very reliable. Hardly ever use cruise control so not an issue..
Nice one...
Great review..... this was on my list for next bike but I was concerned about the height...... thx for sharing...... 🏍
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great review. Looking to test ride one if these and helps that I know all the roads you are riding on. Not wrong when you say it is some of the worst potholes in the country!!!!
I had heard that Honda was going to make an AT that was set up more for offroad use.Great review! Thanks.
Thanks for watching and for stopping by! All the best - TMF
Very nice review, I have the 2017 DCT. Love your channel
Good :0)
Great review, thanks for the "Real World" angle.
Glad you liked it - thanks for watching!
Very nice looking bike, I’ll add that to my wish list! Good review too mate.
Thanks Jonboy!

I’ve recently bought the 2018 DCT version and because I’m 1.75 metres tall (5’9”) I had the mid height seat fitted.
MRA Varioscreen?
TheMissendenFlyer
I’ve read about the MRA Vario Screen (on online adventure bike forums), but because I’ve already spent close to £300 on trying to remedy the turbulence, I’m loathe to spend any more until Honda get back to me.
I swapped bikes with my mate this weekend (he’s a couple inches taller than me) and he could also feel the wind turbulence. I wonder if it only affects a select few Africa Twins?
dunno!
Superb review Andy, my missus Is looking at one of these and that’s gave us a really good insight into it, thanks😎
Cracking vid lovely bike and weather well done Mr Flyer😁
Thank you Kris...
Great review just bought one agree 5ft8 seat on lower position is fine
bloody hell I nearly missed this vid. Everyone seems to like these. I'm a bit indifferent to the looks but I could actually see myself with one. Purrs lovely.
Yes I was indifferent- then I rode this one!
Good stuff as always , the only downside to the bike is , I've only had my 2017 africa twin for a year
Excellent review TMF. If I hadn,t just bought a new GSA this would have been the front runner. Particularly like the 24 Litre fuel tank. Maybe when the warranty expires on the GS I will go back to Honda. Its the first Honda Ive fancied since I bought a new Blackbird in 2005.
Hello mate, great bike and review, i wouldn't call the sound juvenile its a big part of the ride for me a decent sound track thanks again.
Nice review thinking goint to get one
Thanks Zamri....
Really! Great time to get a good deal then....
Beutiful colors...seen a aussi gravel test and he said it was better then the 17mod with upgrade suspension that he owned.
Yeah that indicator/horn setup make you honk more then you wish:))
Still on my wish list...
Nice review
Thanks for watching Toby...
Great review. Very informative. Thank you.
Great review as always, I mentioned in a previous vlog the manufacturers need to start thinking about supplying specific kits for us vertically challenged , marking the forks so you know the geometry is correct . So no guessing as factory approved settings .
Good review as always 👍
Sounds great, I must test one. However I took. ktm 1090 out yesterday from those great guys at the Ktm centre in Hemel Hempstead and have to admit to being deeply in love. At present my absolute favourite ( tried GS & 1290), I will give it a go but I feel that at present the 1090 has stolen my heart!
Yes the 1090 is very nice...but you owe it to yourself to try the AT Adventure Sports!
TheMissendenFlyer on that basis. It would be rude not to!
Found this to be a good review and channel! Need to add the “2” on the title CRF1000L2 :)
What's the "2" for? Not heard of that before??
Grip puppies. A must on any long distance bike in my mind.
...I'll second the grip puppies idea.....
Hmmm. I'll check that out. Thanks!
Oh yeah, and the seat can be fixed with an AirHawk or equivalent. But it will make the seat height even taller. I haven't seen an aftermarket seat in the right colors yet for this bike. Hopefully someone will make one.
Corbin make a seat of it but it cost £600 and £900 for the heated one.
I like the bike without the spokes, too much cleaning involved and the big tank is awesome! along with the looks!
Brilliant review 👌 soon to be part exchanging my 636 for one of these, i must be getting old 😥
I call it getting wise....
Excellent review as always, beautiful bike.
Cheers....
I was quite surprised to see you riding this, TMF, given that other reviewers made a point of the incredible seat height, but, just like the KTM 1090, I see you managed to snag a rideable one for people that aren't 2 metres tall.
Yes, I wouldn’t have been comfortable on the bike without the low seat though....
Great review. Looking forward to the new Tiger 800 review.
Thanks for video 👍 of my dream machine, she sounds absolutely beautiful and I can not wait own one, just a beautiful machine al be watching this video, probably a number of times 😃 epic riding to you good sir.
Thank you...
Great review. Similar to a previous comment - my next bike, and such a damn good looking one too. I'll opt for the DCT version for sure.
I have the DCT, and it the best bike I've owned. And I'm old, so I have owned a few...
There’s an issue with T Spring - no idea why they’ve ceased shipping to the US...new merchandise and a new supplier coming soon!! Stay tuned...
If you start a world around tour, (let's say over 100K km, %80 tarmac road, % 20 off road) which one do you prefer and why? Africa Twin or Africa Twin Adventure Sport.
