Great theme song! Someone posted it here in the early days of youtube and now I get to hear once more, thanks!
the imagery is second to none
I keep expecting an episode of The Starlost to follow the wrestling
Tremendous footage.
In 1971, I discovered Professional Wrestling Through Grand Prix Wrestling.
Such great memories for me.
1970’s Wrestling was the best decade for the sport.
Same. A kid watching it on CFCF 12 in Montreal. Jack Curran ❤
Great find here. Thanks for uploading all these old, somewhat forgotten promotions sir.
Wow... we need more this uploaded... bringing back great memories. Grew up watching this promotion. Nostalgic indeed 😊
Unfortunately I only have the two episodes I uploaded and since no one was saving all their TV back then, this is probably all that still exists.
It's still great footage thank you
Roy Callender interview is great. Classic
As I said.
1971 was the year I discovered Pro Wrestling.
From 1971 to this very program.
Eduard Carpentier and Johnny War Eagle were my 2 favorite wrestlers.
Until I saw Chief Jay strongbow vs. the Shiek.
Strongbows wrestling style was so exciting to me.
That he became my favorite wrestler of all time.
Because of that match.
I can’t thank you enough for posting this video.
And bringing me back.
To such a great memory, for me.
In my life.
So Brilliant in every way.
Fantastic, Thanks
Been a little distracted from working on footage lately but I am trying to get back to daily uploads again! If you appreciate seeing the rare wrestling footage and want more of it, sign up for the Patreon www.patreon.com/KrisPLettuce and help me fund my next footage purchase! UA-cam will not allow me to monetize this channel so the only money I make off this work is from the Patreon.
thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! you have, yet again, made my day
billy two rivers just died at age 87. r.i.p.
Good show!
I've always been an old school wrasslin fan and this video takes me back to the times when pro wrestling was fun. Sad for me to say, it's just not the same anymore. But to each their own.
Thanks for sharing.
Wow, I had no idea full shows from Montreal existed this early! Someday, someone needs to pitch a Canadian wrestling docuseries to the CBC, if for no other reason than to expose the breadth of interesting (and probably totally unseen for decades!) footage that I suspect is sitting in their archives.
The CBC did not air wrestling, this is from CFCF-12 Montreal, an affiliate of CTV.
I would love to see more footage of Grand Prix.
For more,fantastic memories.
This was right at the time when Ernie Roth moved to Fort Lauderdale, and became the grand wizard of wrestling and living in the same community as Vince McMahon Senior, and became his business secretary
Don Leo Jonathan a face? No way. That's awesome. Had no clue. I always saw him as a heel in the WWWF with the Grand Wizard of wrestling
DLJ The Mormon Giant
Roger Abbott of the Royal Canadian Air Farce used to play a Native Canadian character named Billy Two Willies.
Excellent ❤ 🎉 😊
That intro is a trip…and then there’s a heel Gaul from Belgium.
I remember when they were first introduced on the French telecast, I was expecting a fun babyface team (I was 8 back then) like an Asterix and Obelix gimmick...instead, they were a pair of dirty-looing, greasy-haired, arrogant heels...I was disappointed, to say the least ;)
Second match is Patonix LeGaulois (red/black) vs Serge Dumont (all black)
Edit: It's Leronix, not Patonix. Thanks to jmomls for the correction.
Thanks!
@@ArmstrongAlley Glad to help, thanks for the uploads too!
could i get spellings on match #1?
@@MrChristopherHaas Check my other comment on this video.
That’s actually Leronix, aka Claude Leron. Patronix was bald.
Where was this one? Def not the Forum (RIP) or Paul Sauvé ... Was it at 405 Ogilvy Ave? Almost looks like a studio ...
i believe you're right, the old cfcf-12 studio in park ex.
No crazy spots, just pure brutality and storytelling in the ring psychology.
Don Leo Jonathan...haven't seen him in years!
Don Leo : 100% male 👊🏼!
Don Leo Jonathan 💪
More info: André Proulx is Tommy Seigler's opponent. Can't find much info on him, but the era and country matches with what I've found (If needed I can share the links for the sources)
Alex Scuredis seems to be the name of Hank James' opponent.
On the main event: Glen Sharkey & Al Bourgeois vs Andre Pelletier & Jackie Wiecz
If you want help on naming wrestlers on your other videos, send me the links, and I'll do my best!
Jackie Wiecz was Edouard Carpentier's nephew
Thank you.
I've only saw 2 episodes of International Grand Prix Wrestling on youtube, are their any more? If their are, are they under a different name?Thank you
I only have two.
@@ArmstrongAlley Since i live in the Philippines, I am unable to pay for anything as we have no credit cards here, no form of payment, sorry

Tommy Siegler was a star in the Ga territory.
Tommy Seigler is a very handsome man.
He died in July 2023 at 84
