I have been using your suggested method to clean Chacos for a while now. It works extremely well. I found a pair of Chacos at the thrift store in my size for $5.00. These shoes were NASTY, but still had a great sole and I knew with this information on how to get them clean I could have a spare pair of sandals for very little money. They are now squeaky clean. Thank you. This is a very satisfying process.
That is EXCELLENT! We’re so glad that worked out for you! And we’re happy to provide such care and maintenance info so more people like you can reuse quality gear and keep more items out of landfills. You rock!♻️🥰
@@wholeearthprov lol sorry I couldn’t help it. Chacos look good but I don’t think they would be good for me as far as comfort and ease putting on (want something almost as easy as flip flops )
@@pistachiosandpopcorn7146 We totally understand! They aren’t for everybody. But if you’re ever interested, Chaco does make some styles with a less pronounced arch on the foot bed, and even some sandals without a back strap for easy slip on. 👍 Hope that helps!

Great video with awesome way of cleaning the chacos. Thank you for posting.
Thank you! My Chacos were starting to smell super foul. This really helped 😊
Glad we could help!
After I went hiking in the rain they absolutely stunk. I didn’t allow them to dry properly. Going to try this
Thanks for this!
great
When do you use the fabric softener? Was it supposed to be added to the soapy water so that when you syringe the water it’s inside it?
Yes, it can totally be added to the soapy water at the beginning of the cleaning process. That will help soften the exposed straps.
Would it be ok to use dish soap?
Yes! It might get extra sudsy but it’ll work. 👍
I don't think I ever had any sandals that stink like chacos, it's horrible
Someone needs to breed a fish that cleans your chaco's when you put them in the river/lake,ect...lol
Deep cleaning Chacos=Buy a pair of Teva
Haha Tevas are definitely easier to clean & a great choice too! 😄👍
