First metal show was Stryper back in 1985 - the Soldiers Under Command Tour. Completely changed my life. The stage show, the musicianship, the volume! I’ve now seen them live 14 times, along with hundreds of other shows/concerts, and they are still the best in the business in my opinion.

My first & only metal(ish) concert was Red in 2015 in Seattle for their OB&R tour. Crowd was super pumped the whole time, and Michael Barnes totally killed it. They opened with "What You keep Alive" which should be a difficult song to sing right off the bat, and it was flawless. I had never seen anyone sing that well live. The whole band was top-notch & really engaging. Those guys are absolute professionals. I stood quietly in the back row the entire show, like I was watching a classical performance, because I'm an analytical nerd when it comes to live music. The security seemed suspicious of me for looking so stoic at a rock concert lol

Dude, that's an awesome lineup for a first metal concert. I've seen My Epic, Comrades, and Deathbreaker. They were all amazing, but Comrades put on one of the best, most unique sets I've ever seen. I've seen hundreds of bands now. My first metal concert was Bullet For My Valentine and Escape the Fate, back in 2010. First time I experienced the pit, my life was changed forever haha. Metal and metalcore run in my veins now. Welcome aboard, my man. Once you go metal, you can't go back. Subscribed 👍

My first metal show was probably the most golden 3-in-1 show ever! It was the As I Lay Dying - The Powerless Rise tour at The Cabooze in MN in 2010! It was the new album release tour for As I Lay Dying (The Powerless Rise), Demon Hunter (The World Is A Thorn), War of Ages (Eternal), and blessthefall! It was truly a God-tier experience! AILD, DH, and WOA all played their new albums front to back + other hits! 🤘🏼💀🤘🏼

I like seeing these videos! As someone that grew up with and toured in support with Living Sacrifice, Haste The Day, Crimson Moonlight, Becoming The Archetype, No Innocent Victim, and many others, its cool to see younger people talk about concerts and metal (now that I'm too old ha ha). Enjoyed the video and hope you are doing well today Metal777

My first Metal concert was Demon Hunter back in 2019 on their Peace & War tour. I was actually at their “hometown show” in Sacramento, CA because even tho the band was formed in Seattle, Ryan Clark was actually from Sac and his parents were in attendance. Just like you, I had only went to CCM concerts and they definitely didn’t have that same energy.

My first Rock/ Metal concert was P.O.D. back in 2012 or 2013 I really cant remember the year, but I do remember P.O.D. playing in Pasadena CA at the one love for Chi concert.
My most recent Metal band that I have been following for over 20 years, just played recently in Santa Ana CA @ the Observatory, about 3 months ago 2023 It was such a awesome time as I did not expect to hear a band called Opponent play, ah man did I have such a awesome time that night, along with a circle pit opening up when opponent was playing. As I continued to mosh in the circle pit I became winded out of breath and was knocked down by another mosher in the circle pit, someone help me get back up and that is when I called it quits. I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the concert when demon hunter was next to play and WOW they put on such a awesome performance.
Metal Blessings to you Metal777 and brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
P.S. SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE HARDCORE METAL BANDS PUTTING IT DOWN FOR JESUS CHRIST, INCLUDING DEMON HUNTER.
    Much love Family.

Hmm... First metal concert must have been Whitecross in support of the Triumphant Return album circa 1989 at Carpenters Home church in Lakeland, FL. Ended up seeing two more times at Strawberry Festival fairgrounds in Plant City, and some high school gymnasium somewhere in central FL. I'm not sure who next, but probably Bride in Lynchburg, VA fall of 1994, probably .
On a side note, I'd seen Red in concert every year from 2010 until 2021 across several states: TN, KY, VA, and PA.

@@Metal777 The farthest I traveled is about 380 miles to see Red (Fireflight and Building 429 opening) from Crossville, TN to Lynchburg, VA.
With a few of the long standing Christian music festivals having folded, it is much more difficult to see many bands.

I have been to so many Christian concerts over the decades I really don't remember who was the first metal band was. I first started going around 1978 or 1979. A few I've seen include Bloodgood, REZ Band, Jerusalem, Tourniquet, White Cross, Mortification, One Bad Pig, Leviticus,
Mastodon, Circle of Dust, Jet Circus, Messiah Prophet Band, Barren Cross, Saint, Bride, Kerry Livgren and A.D., Trytan, Sacred Warrior, King's X, Rage of Angels; just to name a few.

Look at the year I first started going.
I was just a couple of years older than you are. It is very interesting to see the reaction of someone from a younger generation to bands I saw live while they were still touring. Petra is the band I've seen the most in concert. I've also seen Deliverance and Believer as well.
Believer and Messiah Prophet Band are from my home state. I am from the East Coast so I got to go to the Creation Festival several times. I also went to Cornerstone Festival around 10 times. Cornerstone was always incredible with the lineups they would have.

I've been a metal fan all of my life but I've never gone to see a band in concert. Mainly because no one interesting ever comes to my state and they literally skip over it to every other adjacent one but honestly I probably wouldn't go to one anyway regardless.
